These are all priced at either £1 in the majority of cases, sometimes stretching to £2, £5 or 2 for £1, which considering the items available is impressive. The store is quite open and clean, and the music is very dated, presumably to keep the costs of having to pay royalties or pay for music down, but the atmosphere is pleasant and friendly. You can quite easily browse in here for quite a while, although sometimes the queues can get a bit long and tend to wind into the main area of the shop. The staff are helpful and friendly, and will wrap fragile items in paper before packing them for you, which is always a good sign.

Items are very technical and you are sometimes left to feel like you need an engineering degree to track down certain electrical components or electrical accessories. The great thing about this shop is that you are able to find components that virtually no other high street shop sells and that it is accessible i.e. You can enquire about exactly what you need before purchase, unlike on the internet, where it is very easy to buy the wrong component because you are not really sure what will work with your piece of equipment. They have an abundance of staff to assist you who are generally very polite, (at times almost too polite in a slightly annoying American Have a nice day way!!). However, due to the technical nature of the store, the staff are nearly always engaged with other customers. I spoke to two members of staff, one of whom was not particularly helpful because I didn't know the make of the item I wanted (If I'd have known that I would not have required his assistance!!!), and another member of staff who was very polite and very helpful indeed. When it came to paying for the item a queue started to form at the till so staff promptly opened another till to alleviate the wait, which was refreshing. When I had to replace an item, they were also very accommodating, found the item I required and replaced it with no fuss.

It is like an Aladdin's cave full of lovely stuff to look at, and the prices are pretty good which means you can buy as well as look! Sometimes the wait to be served in the fabric department can be a bit tedious, but most of the time they are pretty efficient. There is a cafe and toilets on the upstairs floor, where they also have picture frames, paintings and ornamental things such as vases. There is a lift if you cant manage the stairs. A really great shop, I wish there was one a bit nearer Abingdon where I live!

The service from the staff was excellent…read more We weren't ready to take delivery at the promised delivery date and the sofas were stored for us. When they were delivered, there was a problem with one of the sofa's wheels. The back-up service from the production department was excellent. Two men promptly arrived and replaced the wheels on both sofas. Five months later, we're still thrilled with them.
