Roy was interrupting us all the time, I felt ZERO RESPECT (acting like he is a big boss there), didn't listen to our questions, zero useful information and he couldn't simply explain how registration and programs work. I left the appointment without answers to my questions. Roy, (I hope he is reading this) please, learn the basic customer service, learn how to be more productive, polite and open to people (even if we attend school for free it doesn't give you a right to serve us on a poor level). Would I consider joining this campus location?- NEVER ! Now I'm praying for speedy recovery because of my teacher Mr M. Watkins. I had taken a test and didn't get a passing grade, I felt like giving up. Mr M. Watkins had our class watch a motovational YouTube video by a Mr E. Thomas and what put me on fire was what Mr E. Thomas said - are you happy where you are in life right now, with your income, where you live, with the car your driving. I answered no to all the questions. Well I can't wait to get well and to come bact to school and to work harder to achieve the highest grades. Although I was interested in going here, I picked another program over this one just because it didn't take as long to complete the CNA course and I was kind of in a rush. However, things went horribly wrong at the last minute with the other school (as in, they enrolled me for a weekend class - which would have had me finishing a MONTH after I wanted to, instead of the weekday class without telling me) so I had to enroll at this school at the last minute. Even though it was seemingly inconvenient at the time, I now couldn't be happier that things fell through with that other school because I truly believe this is the best school I - or anyone else for that matter - could go to. I was part of the first inaugurating class at the National City campus and I loved my experience there. We had the pleasure of having three different professors - Ms. Tuba, the owner and complete angel/sweetheart of a human being, Dr. Ray, an actual doctor!, and then Roy, our skills professor (also the resident sweetheart despite the tough exterior). They are all incredible! They DEFINITELY know what they're talking about and truly care about your success not only as a CNA, but as a person as well! They're quick to offer any form of support they can offer you (ex. setting up interviews with places for you, staying to practice skills with you even if they're not paid, explaining something in depth so you understand it, being a reference for you, giving you a list of 240+ practice questions for your written exam, skills videos to look at at home to practice, etc.). They are just AWESOME! I don't think I've ever felt more supported by a place in my entire life, to be honest. My classmates were the absolute sweetest and I felt so fortunate to meet them! There's also a Facebook Group you can join where old and new students help each other out with any questions, let each other know about any job openings, etc.! It's just a great big community that I am so happy and proud to be a part of. Everyone just wants everyone to do well and succeed and it's so awesome! The school itself is really nice too. It is beautifully decorated and you have everything you need and more! Parking might be a slight problem for larger classes (my class had 6 people in it, including me) since the area is shared with other businesses, but I wouldn't worry about it. It could potentially be tricky to snag a spot directly in front of the campus, but there's a large parking lot just around the corner (just drive past Tita's Kitchenette and Island Pacific Supermarket) that has several parking spots available. So worst case scenario, you just have to walk 2-3 minutes over, which isn't a problem in the slightest. I have zero doubts that I will pass my certification exam with ease. I can confidently say that I've received the best education and support here! Register to do your classes here! You will not regret it!

Test Center Review:…read more Came here for a Pearson Vue test. This center is exactly what I was expecting for a professional testing center. They had high availability of scheduling times even less than a week from when I scheduled the exam. They are efficient with check-in and check-out at the office adjacent to exam room. They provide high-school type lockers to stow your personal items before entering the exam room. You can bring your own lock or use one they provide for you. The exam room is a decent size (I did not feel cramped), you check in with the moderator and that person logs you into your exam. It was a quiet environment, the equipment worked appropriately and the staff is good about directing you from step to step to get you from start to finish during your test day. Free parking --- yes it was pretty full like they warn you about in their directions blurb. I was able to find more than a few empty spots at the back of the lot on a weekday morning though.

We are in a "top" school but my child did not get enough help this year when he was struggling,…read moreesp. after coming back in person, and was left behind in a few subjects. He needed to remediate some coursework this summer, and the ALTUS charter school network was recommended to us. They are a free public charter with many branches in San Diego, and the work is based on Edgenuity software, which our public district also uses for some subjects. They are WASC accredited and they offer lots of CSU/UC-approved a-g courses It took a bit of time for us to get registered, because so many parents across San Diego are seeking to do the same exact thing at the same time in May, register their kids for an ALTUS school for the summer. And it took a while to get responses before we were enrolled. But once we were set up with a school that had room for us (Grossmont), things were great. Grossmont is not the closest location to us, as we're not in East County, but the program was 100% online (if my kid wanted to go in person it would have been possible but you can also do all your work and meet your teacher online). He was assigned to Ms. Ivy Koehler, who is absolutely wonderful. She has a BS from UCSD in Biology, a teaching credential from SDSU and an MA in instructional tech from National. He was able to complete work at his own pace - AND she was available by zoom or by text if he had any questions. You can do labs in person or online - she helped him when he had questions and was extremely professional and responsive. My kid did great and it was so much better for him to work at his own pace online and have access to a teacher one-on-one than to be in a classroom. He would probably be more successful here long term, but he really wants an in-person experience with his friends. So he is back to his regular school in the fall - but it is great to know Grossmont is here and he can enroll next summer if he needs to repeat anything. The educational staff is more than exceptional; Miss Koehler, Mr. Machado and Ms. North; that's just naming a few of the brilliant minds that help the students. It's a small group that's in attendance daily that allow for better concentration and learning without the stress of a traditional school. The hours are flexible and the computers and technology are up-to-date. It's a win win all the way around, and, not only that, but, you get to graduate in Balboa Park! I can't say thank you enough to all the staff!
