Sara did so much more than just take amazing photos. She helped me plan the timing of the whole day, with expert guidance and perspective on lighting and flow. She dedicated a lot of time and energy to help plan and prep with me so she really understood what we wanted for our big day. She was responsive and professional and also personable, sweet, and funny. When the day arrived, Sara and her second photographer Cecilia helped everything run so smoothly. She even knew how to calm me down when I was freaking out. Sara wrangled our big rowdy family and had lots of tricks for getting natural facial expressions and poses out of everyone including the children and the awkward adults. She kept us laughing while also moving us through the many groups we had lined up. I just looked through all the photos from the ceremony and I can't believe how many angles Sara and Cecilia captured-- they were everywhere... but how??? I swear they went into ninja stealth mode and nobody actually saw them... that's some real photo magic. And of course, the photos themselves are divine. I absolutely despised our wedding photos and didn't print even 1 out, and have nothing displayed in our home. But I wanted photos taken because I haven't felt this great about myself, my life, etc. in my entire life. That said, I went on an almost six-month journey trying to find the right photographer. We're a little quirky of a family (my husband, my dog, and me). We wanted to wear all black, including our dog, and have our photos taken in DTLA, where we live. I can't tell you how many photographers didn't feel right. A couple of them rejected us because they didn't want to or didn't feel comfortable doing sessions downtown, and a handful I respectfully didn't move forward with because something didn't feel right. This is where Leyna comes in. I randomly found her while helplessly Googling "photographers in DTLA" and fell in love with her style. She took such unique, cool photos of families downtown, and I knew I had to reach out to her. I poured my heart out in the survey, and her response brought me to tears. I knew she was the one. As someone who's type-A, Leyna's work ethic is so appreciated. We kept in touch (I booked months out), and as the date got closer, she shared a timeline and planned logistics, and I felt so great about it. The day came, and while she warned us that the first 15 minutes always felt awkward, I felt comfortable the minute we hugged in our lobby. We spent four hours together, and we couldn't believe how quickly and smoothly it went. She felt like a friend; she loved our dog as much as we did, and honestly, we had a blast. Only a couple of weeks later, the photos were ready, and I SOBBED (with happy tears, of course). The pictures are absolutely stunning. The studio was a decent size and clean. I was there for quite some time. It was not a quick process compared to the first newborn session. I had with my eldest daughter. I was told I would be receiving the photos within 30 days. I never received the photos. I do quite a bit of modeling, and our family is decently known. Looking for a Newborn Photographer and the Los Angeles area, I was actually referred to by a friend. With all of the modeling and family photographers I've worked with I've never experienced this type of delay in response or demeanor in a business owner. I contacted Kristine on multiple occasions (4) as shown through text and email. When I finally suggested today, I will need to reach out to my attorney ( not because of the money but because I wanted the photos, this is a memory that most all parents want) she finally replied. Her demeanor was completely unbecoming and truly filthy. She sent me screenshots that somehow showed my email. I'm not sure if it was a login screen or a contact screen but she had said I saw the photos in September, which I had not. I have absolutely no reason to argue with a struggling business owner. I was just reaching out to get the photos I needed after the fifth time contacting her for a service I paid for. She blatantly called me a liar in these messages. All I wanted was my photos that I had paid for and help accessing whatever it was that a lot of me the opportunity to see them . I would not let my children around this woman, or even refer anybody to her ever again. That aura is absolutely filthy to have a newborn around.. and you might not get your pictures for eight months! She should have been more professional and apologetic, rather than antagonizing. I will be contacting most all outlets and using my social media platform as well as others. This is a very fragile time for mothers/ families behavior, and the text after you read is not something that any newborn mother would want to tolerate.
