They do damn good fish and chips. Crunchy, delicious. Fish burgers were disappointing - fell to pieces, not enough flavour. It does get busy, because its good, so be prepared to wait for a few minutes (we waited 15 for a large order, which I thought was reasonable). Super friendly staff. read more

Careful how and what you order. We were looking forward to having some fish and chips with calamari. I had told the person behind the counter that I loved fish and was looking forward to trying. I ordered a fish an calamari pack, and when it came out, I thought she had made a mistake. I thought she'd accidentally given us a calamari pack. On looking further I saw that there 4 tiny pieces, about 3cm long which were supposed to be fish. Oh so disappointed! We liked at the people sitting next to us and they had a delicious looking fish on a skewer with salad. Definite food envy. We were trying to work out exactly what they had ordered but it wasn't clear from the menu. If you go, make sure you ask a lot of questions about what the fish is and the size, so you don't leave feeling taken advantage of. read more

Sadly this IS the best fish and chips in Sawtell. The wait is ridiculous, considering how many staff they have compared to how many people they actually serve. Last time somebody bought food from there they threw out their large fish spring roll as the fish inside was completely raw. The fish is always overly watery and lacks flavour, and the chips are always overcooked in old oil. Will leave you feeling nauseous. read more
