The grass could definitely do with some more field rotation to give it some time to regrow, but i suppose there are too many games and too many comps for that to work out so wear good footy boots and strap up all your injuries! The parking lot and most of Underwood Road fills up quickly when there's a game on, so try your luck on one of the side streets. Also, there's a huge stormwater channel right behind the carpark, so bring your insect repellant on summer nights or you'll be eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Goodness knows what it is like during the weekend. The most disappointing is the number of dog walkers with multiple dogs (6-7) as there is no way they pick up all the poos. The single dog walkers pickup but there were plenty of jobbies planted in the outfield and ignored as they were attending to the other dogs in their care.

Oh, look, it doesn't really matter, does it? I mean, who's counting? Oh. You are. Well, tough titties, because I'm not telling. The ol' knees are a bit stiffer than I remember though, especially after a day of cricket (during which I starred with the ball and picked up 3 wickets *cough*). Your pitches are still on the small side. There's still that funky canal down the back that's haunted by the ghosts of thousands of rugby, soccer and cricket balls long since lost back there. That big brick damn thing down the far end hasn't changed. Nor has your sparkling waterfront. Lots more dogs than I remember though. And you seem, I don't know, sunnier somehow. More youthful and appealing than I remember. Botox? No, I just thought .... you know what, don't worry, you look great is all. I'm coming back to lie under your gum trees on the gentle slope facing the water with my dog. Let's not leave it so long again, huh?

The centre is a nice place to sit amongst the tall pine trees facing the waterfall. There's a cafe which is pleasant enough and some open stands by the football field if all the shade under the trees is taken. The best bit about this park is the kids play equipment.... If you could call it that. It's more outdoor design come burning man art sculpture focused than child fun park but then the kids playing around the popping water and sticks piece were having a lot of fun on the really hot day I was there. It's a funny mix of life colliding together in this park - the white butterfly landing on my screen followed by a group of school kids, skinny beaked marsh bird, the artsy creative type, the business suit and then the homeless man asking for bus money. Just the general happening of an inner city park I suppose.

I recently attended a Saturday afternoon birthday BBQ here and found it to be quite a lovely place indeed. The park has your classic amenities- large grassy field, fountain, restroom block, jungle gym- but also has a bit of style as well. My favorite example of this is the tall flower garden sculpture that has water geysers coming out of the ground at random. Nice touch, Redfern. Positioned on the corner of Chalmers St. and Redfern St., there are a lot of awesome little spots cropping up nearby. We stopped at the bottle shop in the Woolpack, which is right there, to pick up some libations for the afternoon. Walking back I took note of the cafes nearby. Next time, I might try lunch at the American diner-style join Eathouse, and then stretch out the full belly in the park for a while. More Redfern Park perks? You're a stone's throw from Surry Hills, and thus all the uber crowded hangouts over there, but you probably won't see your boss and your ex best friend, and your landlord's gay lover and everyone else you kinda know here. It's hip but not "too" hip, and because of that... I'm sold.

Even if you start off nice and slow, you'll find yourself slowly picking up the pace and before you know it, you're doing some insane HIIT workout. They have an athletic track, a long jump, a batting cage and a ton of space to release that inner athlete. The Parramatta Little Athletics Club and the Parramatta City Track and Field Clubs reside here ... come summer and winter season, this park is packed to capacity with kids and adults running about the place throwing discs, javellins, shot puts and whatever other track and field event is out there. There is also a small playground for the little tackers watching their older siblings train. If track or field isn't your thing, a 1min walk in one direction will get you to the tennis centre or a 2min walk the opposite direction will get you to an off leash dog park ... soo many options ooooh what do you do? GO !!

Did you know this is where 'Bradman' scored his first ..... first class century ..... no ! ..... well now you do. It's a place to chill ..... exercise..... have kiddie parties ..... take your pet for a walk ..... or watch a cricket or baseball match ..... also perfect for a picnic with some special or anyone at all !! ...... it's Green and looks great !!! Please keep it in a great state and it will be around for many many years for another generation to enjoy. Also known as Petersham Park, this is a great park to have a picnic, watch a cricket match, or go…read morefor a swim. It is the biggest open space in the area and you'll find lots of people exercising and playing with their kids and dogs. It almost deserves five stars, but the people using the park don't take especially good care of it. After a weekend of heavy use, there is rubbish everywhere. I take my kid to the playground here almost daily and spend a good portion of my time picking up broken glass -- I've come to the conclusion that if somebody breaks a bottle anywhere in Petersham, they pick up the pieces to distribute across the playground. Pick up after yourselves, people!!!

Having recently moved to Bondi, Waverley park is now part of my morning ritual. I come and do a few…read morelaps of the park here and as it has one of those exercise equipment areas, I come and make use of the facilities to 'try' and get fit. Its a good park that's just a short walk from bondi junction and is also relatively close to the beach too. You'll find lots of dog walkers, mums with strollers and kids making their way to the school, which is adjacent to the park. The park also has some netball courts, a footy field and a cricket pitch and stadium that's currently under renovations. A good park to go for a walk or run and get the blood pumping in the morning or after work.

Paths through the bush connect to the fields and other areas. The lower fields have a parking area but if you are on the top fields it is necessary to park in the street which must annoy the locals.
