School left a voicemail instead of a written statement of child's dismissal.

Preschool forced son to quarantine due to being exposed to his aunt that came from outer state. Aunt has been cleared from travel restrictions from State of Hawaii by showing a negative test. Son is heartbroken and constantly asking why he can't see his teacher... (Why I'll give 1 star vs Zero) It's their policy I understand that part, BUT what I don't understand is that they had let him into school KNOWING that my sister from Vegas was picking him up. They violated my sisters HIPPA rights and did not want to notify the classroom/families that they've been in contact with my son. I can see the reason why they wouldn't want to notify them... "Dear family, your child MAY be at risk due to possible exposure from a child that was in contact with an out of state traveler. But don't be alarmed, the traveler tested NEGATIVE for covid and was cleared from travel restrictions by the state of Hawaii." For your child's safety he will be quarantined for 10 days." sounds ridiculous right?! It's graduation season and summer! You WILL be in contact with an out of state traveler especially if you are in the travel industry! The school called to leave a message saying that they do not want us in the program. But gladly took our June tuition and school deposit. I did not receive any written statement saying he needs to quarantine. On my end it effects my job because I need a written document to receive covid leave. It's unfortunate that they don't want to resolve it. Got in trouble just for stating the truth. Very unprofessional. Beware!

Not only do they teach the kids ABC's and 123's but they teach them foreign language and Hawaiian. You cannot put a price tag on the future potential of being bi-lingual or tri-lingual! They also reinforce potty training and good nutrition. The major aha moment...my child asks to go back every-time we drive by. That says something meaningful coming from a toddler!

The billing was confusing. Although we were on a monthly payment plan, the amount due changed from month to month because it was based on the number of school days. I asked for clarification but never received a clear explanation. There were also changes to tuition-related charges that we weren't notified about, which made the billing even more confusing. If you're considering Cole Academy, I'd encourage you to ask detailed questions about their billing and withdrawal policies and make sure you receive important information in writing. In my experience, it took several weeks to receive a response or get clarification regarding billing. I had a bad experience with billing and withdrawal because I didn't get a timely response when I reached out to Monica.

Our child attended…read morefor two years and was provided with exceptional care and compassion, patience, and everything you could ask for in a preschool. Every teacher there felt like they were born to be a pre-school teacher! We feel incredibly grateful to have found Ewa Plains Enrichment in Ewa Beach for our son. From the very beginning, it felt personal. We were not just enrolling in a school but becoming part of a warm, loving community that felt like family. Miss Jessica and the entire team of teachers are everything you would hope for in a preschool. They are warm, kind, intelligent, and fully engaged with the children. Their sincerity and care were evident every single day. It was almost tangible how much they truly loved each child, including ours. The mission of Ewa Plains Enrichment feels centered in love. Every lesson, classroom moment, and interaction reflects that. Our son not only learned how to read here, but something lit up inside him. It was as if a light switched on, and now he reads his own bedtime stories with joy and confidence. This milestone was nurtured by the school's incredible literacy program and the encouragement of his teachers. The school's focus on literacy is truly outstanding. The dedication and joy the teachers bring to reading is something our family will never forget. We also deeply appreciated the school's commitment to Hawaiian culture. Field trips to the lo'i, the pumpkin patch, and the library helped connect learning to the land and the community. Through songs, stories, and hands-on experiences, the children developed a strong sense of place and respect. As a Buddhist family, we always felt completely welcomed and respected at this Christian school. The values of kindness, compassion, gratitude, and responsibility were shared in a loving and inclusive way that felt deeply aligned with our home life. Our son also had the opportunity to share his own heritage during Culture Week and to learn about the cultures of his classmates. Seeing his identity honored and celebrated was incredibly meaningful and helped him feel proud and connected. The school created beautiful memories throughout the year, from Christmas and Easter performances to a heartfelt Mother's Day celebration. Preschool graduation was one of the best graduation events I have ever attended. It was thoughtful, joyful, and full of love. You could see how much the staff cared about each and every child. During a year when our family needed to take extended international trips, the school was flexible, understanding, and supportive. They even prepared homework packets for our son to bring with him, so he could stay connected and continue learning while we traveled. That level of care and thoughtfulness meant so much to us. Ewa Plains Enrichment has been around for many years, and that experience shows in the most beautiful ways. The staff have worked with so many different types of children and family situations, and their understanding, flexibility, and wisdom come through in how they support each student. You can tell they have truly seen it all and are prepared to meet each child where they are, with love and confidence. Ewa Plains Enrichment consistently goes above and beyond what is expected. They are always thinking about the children and their future. This is not just a school. It is a place where children are truly seen, nurtured, and loved. We will be forever grateful to this school, which is a true gift to the community and island!

Our child has excelled and fluorished not only in academics but also socially and spiritually. His growth here has been astounding. I honestly don't know how they don't have a 5-star rating because the whole staff truly cares about their kids and provides an environment for them to grow safe and confident.

Brittany came prepared to entertain my son in the hotel room for 5 hour (way past his bedtime). She came 3 days during our stay and my some waited for her like he waited for Santa. I "shopped" and interviewed many places before settling on this one. First off, let me preface that being a caregiver to an ailing loved one 24/7 for the past 2.5 years has been the most challenging and rewarding "job" I have ever had. As rewarding as it is, I do acknowledge that self care is of utmost importance in terms of longevity. I need to be able to be of healthy mind, spirit and body BEFORE I can take care of anyone else. Anything else short of that means that fatigue, resentment and burnout will occur. This place is so fantastic! Really it is. Raquel is the program administrator the adult daycare portion and she has been so instrumental in helping our family transition our loved one into their program. Minimum days to be enrolled here is two days a week and of course anything after that they could probably accommodate your family needs. The staff is also very nice and genuinely caring and jovial. I have dropped by here many times without an appointment just to peer through their glass door to see what they are doing. Each time, I see my loved one being cared for and staff being attentive. Many times they don't see me peering in. But it's this type of surprise visit that make me feel at ease about leaving my loved one here. They have a monthly newsletter that goes out to the family and one can see what is on the menu daily, activities for the month, planned field trips, parties and themes for the month. They have different people come in as well during the week to "entertain" and engage the daycare participants - from musicians, yoga instructors (chair yoga), to arts and crafts - they really keep the participants busy. There is a daily schedule as well that includes meal times (breakfast, snacks and lunch), nap or down time and quiet time. Perhaps one of the nicest things about SFIC is that the participants get to engage with the children from the child daycare section (supervised of course) and both generations benefit from that exchange. The facility is extremely clean (a bit too cold but I just dress my loved one accordingly) and boasts a full kitchen, bathrooms and showers (if needed), recliners for nap time and outside picnic benches for when they get to enjoy the fresh air outside. This place has been a godsend!! I cannot stress enough how much this respite has helped alleviate caregiver stress and burnout. When choosing a daycare, it was important to me that there are staff members that could communicate with our loved one in her dialect. I feel completely comfortable leaving our loved one here knowing that her safety and well being is their foremost goal. She comes back smiling and that's always a good feeling. SFIG is located in Historic Ewa Beach on Renton Road.

Seagull was shut down mid March. That left half of the month that children wouldn't be allowed to received services from Seagull. However, they did not feel that it was reasonable to reimburse families for half the month's tuition. While other schools were giving away free meals for ALL children under the age of 18, Seagull charged for meals and educational services that they did not provide whatsoever. But okay, let's cut them a little slack. Covid hit so suddenly, it was hard to prepare for. Seagull chose to look out for themselves rather than their students' families. Fine. Fast forward to their reopening. A 30% increase in tuition. Fast forward to 109 confirmed Covid cases in Hawaii. I want to hold my child out of school for at least a month until the numbers of daily cases are hopefully not so scary. Seagull has not updated, altered, or made exceptions to their policies even though a global pandemic killing hundreds of thousands of people swept the world. They notified me that they would be keeping my deposit because I wasn't able to predict how bad Covid would be 30 days ago and therefore did not give the notice that their pre-Covid policy requires. Their suggestion? Continue to take the risk and expose my child for 30 more days if I want my deposit back. $400 is the price that they put on my child. Keep your deposit, greedy, money-hungry, Seagull. My kid's life is worth so much more than the $400 that you can't seem to let go of.
