I emailed beforehand to pick up the company file (a very small file) it was then the accountant acted rude when I stopped by to pick it up, as if I inconvenienced her. I worked with Lauren at Sherpa after I was laid off a few years back. First all was good as she…read moreplaced me in a temp position with a small country club, everything was well and I still continued to look for full time work. Once that assignment ended, I was asked if I wanted to be placed as a temp at a large food supplier in Charlotte with the possibility of going full time within a month or two. But found out to a rude awakening that this employer continually hired permanent people AND temp people, It was a like a cattle yard, with all the coming and goings, and there were people who had been temp for 2 years who were still not offered full time. I was told I wasn't going to be sent out on other assignments or interviews since I chose this position, that was part of the deal. I was never told that by Lauren. I was trapped as I needed full time work and knew that if I left that position, Sherpa would not work with me again. They were a highly respected agency at the time and not working with them, would not be good. But then again, they put me in that situation to fill their pockets and didn't care about my status. Lauren was rude and unprofessional when I expressed my concern about finding full time work and was told to look for another recruiter. Fortunately for me I found full time work on my own a few months later. I still receive calls years later from them, I always tell them no way would I work with you again.
