We rang Carline wanting a taxi to go to the airport, they were very offhand and brusque on the telephone and made it quite clear that they weren't really interested. Rang DSM Horley and received very good service. So next time we come down and leave our car at our friends' house then book a taxi to the airport, we'll be ringing DSM Horley first, not Carline!

Driver was subsequently messing around with Sat Nav and nearly put us in a ditch. I stated emphatically to confirm the pick-up time when I didn't get the usual text message saying the driver was on his way, 2 mins before the booked pickup time, as usual and if they were going to be later than that tell me so I can make alternative arrangements. I got said text at pickup time. Every operator lied to me, saying cab was 2 minutes away. Had they been honest I could have walked to the station but their lies and ineptitude made me late. The final operator hung up on me when I explained they had screwed up and all I needed was the truth from the outset and I would have been fine. I spent 45 minutes waiting for the next hourly train home. I wont ever use them again. There are plenty of options. Use AroundMe on your iPhone.

I was extremely disappointed with the service from Western Cars. I booked and paid for my taxi days…read morein advance, yet it arrived 40 minutes late. What frustrated me most was the repeated dishonesty. At the agreed pickup time, I called to check everything was on track and was told the driver was "three minutes away." Ten minutes later, I called again and was told he was "five minutes away." After another ten minutes, the driver finally admitted he was actually travelling from Shoreham to pick me up in Brighton and was still at least 15 minutes away. I then contacted the office, who said they would speak to the driver and call me back. They never did. To make matters worse, once I was finally picked up, the driver sped dangerously along country roads, turning an already stressful experience into an unsettling one. I would not recommend Western Cars and will certainly not be using them again.
