I had a few simple questions about the law and wanted to find out what's involved in doing evictions and what it might cost. He's working out of an old house that has been converted into a business office, complete with commercial signage and a reception area. The door was locked and nobody answered the door bell, so I proceeded to leave thinking I'd call later. As I was leaving, I was motioned in by someone inside and was greeted at the door by a friendly receptionist. I explained the situation, she checked with Dan and I was invited to go upstairs. I greeted Dan and proceeded to explain my situation and ask him a few questions over the course of about 5 minutes. He was strangely quite unfriendly and curt with me. When we were finished, just when I was about to say "Thank you" and leave, he admonished me, barking "Next time call first. I don't run a walk-in business. You should have called and made an appointment first", like I was doing something wrong! I told him the reason that I stopped in was to MAKE an appointment! I didn't demand to be seen right away! He THEN proceeded to admonish me for not thanking him for answering my questions! WHAT?! He jumped down my throat about not calling first before I even had a chance to thank him! Wow. There's NO way that I'd ever hire someone so disrespectful and hostile as this.

I met Stacy Tucker when she answered a question I asked on the legal question and answer site,…read moreAvvo. I was impressed with her insight, her understanding of my specific ERISA Long Term Disability issues, and her patience and willingness to answer my questions and explain the law. I returned to ask additional questions that arose, and she continued to provide helpful insight as I navigated the appeals process. Kantor & Kantor has an excellent website, with a lot of helpful information for claimants trying to understand ERISA law. I appreciated and used their tips on how to successfully appeal a denied claim. I could not have been more impressed with Stacy Tucker's bio on the website, and I knew that I had found the right person to help me with my claim. I won my appeal on the medical portion of my claim (thanks to great advice from Kantor & Kantor), and I'm currently awaiting a final determination on the amount of benefits I'm owed, which is in dispute. If I have any question about whether I'm receiving every dime I'm owed under the policy, I won't hesitate to hire Ms. Tucker and Kantor & Kantor to litigate my claim. People who are sick or injured and are unable to work are often victimized again by their insurance company's shady, bad faith tactics, which prioritize corporate profits over the claimant's ability to pay their bills and buy food. When you're sick or in pain, it's hard to fight back, and ERISA law is complicated and slanted in favor of the insurance company. If you find yourself in that situation, I highly recommend that you talk to Stacy at Kantor & Kantor. There is no charge for a consultation. Hopefully you can resolve your claim without litigation, but if it comes to that, these are the people you want on your side.
