If I could rate 10/10 stars I would. Amy is billed as "sex therapist, life coach, mediator" on Yelp…read moreand for me she was all 3 in that order. My previous experience with therapy has always been a topical analysis of whatever was bugging me that week, or CBT practices (snap a rubber band on your wrist before you do something rash). I decided I would be completely honest from the start and Amy held my truth with integrity every step of the way. Beyond giving me a completely new perspective, she taught me to sense my crisis states well before they happened, and how to step away from it before being ruled by it. Amy is worth every penny spent.

From the owner: Learning intimacy means understanding your needs and understanding your motivations. It also…read moreincludes learning how to be effective even when in conflict, and it means figuring out how to show up willing to be seen in all aspects of relationship, but especially with yourself and intimate partners. I'm a mediator and sex coach. And believe me, they go together. I specialize in helping individuals become their best selves, whether coupled or not. I teach you how to grow as an individual so that you can make the most informed and least fear-based decisions in your life about love, sex, marriage, and work. From there, I teach you to support yourself and your mate, first as individuals, and then how to grow as a couple. It is much easier to do this before kids come, but it is critical to do it if you have children. We specialize in relationship, intimacy, and conflict by teaching you how to grow. That's right, we're about mediating conflict and adult education in how to become your highest and best self, whether partnered or not.

Over a year ago I was not doing well at work. I was recommended to seek out a Career Coach. Little…read moredid I know how helpful Shawn was. Shawn was beyond helpful! He helped me from struggling to getting a promotion! In one year! He is always prepared for every meeting and remembers everything we talk about. It didn't feel like a meeting with a coach/therapist. It felt like I was catching up with an old friend. I will more than likely continue my work with Shawn, not because I have to, but because I want to. Thank you so much for your help and support Shawn!

About a year or so ago I was searching for a career coach to help me find "the work I was meant to…read moredo". Prior to working with Shawn, I thought that a career coach would assess my skills and then tell me what role/job I should do. Very quickly, I learned that that was not how the process worked and I couldn't be happier to have been wrong. Shawns' process helped me uncover what truly makes me happy, what kind of team I want to be a part of, what kind of organization I want to be a part of, and most importantly what job responsibilities would make me happy on a daily basis. For anyone looking to get a better understanding of their skills and job desires and use that knowledge to find a role that fits what you're looking for, then I'd recommend working with Shawn. While I found Shawn via Yelp, I also found a handful of other career coaches on the platform. I chose Shawn due to his business background and the fact that he was a true "Career Coach". I had a business background so it felt like a good fit and I was looking for a "career" specific coach versus a "Life/Career" coach. I worked with Shawn (In-person - I used to live in Seattle) for ~6 sessions. He broke down each session ahead of time so I knew what work I had to accomplish before our meetings and what to expect to talk about in our meetings. The work was challenging and thought provoking, but it really helped me discover my skills, shortcomings, non-negotiable and ultimately led me to the work that I wanted to do. He helped me define what I was looking for in a role, including: team structure, day-to-day responsibilities, environment, reporting structure, and more. He helped me gain confidence that even though I didn't have a background in design, I had inherent skills and aptitudes for the field. One year removed for working with Shawn, I landed a new role in a new career. Shawn helped me find a career path and happiness in my work. Working with Shawn really helped me understand my abilities and clearly define what I was looking for. Once I was able to define my ideal role, I was able to go out and get it. All in all Shawn was a major asset to helping me find the role I'm currently in. I would recommend him to anyone searching for a career coach. Just know, the work is hard but very rewarding!!!!

Julie is a nice person (which makes sense as she was a former elementary school teacher), but my…read moreexperience was that she is not a skilled life coach. Julie overpromised and undelivered. Initially, I chose her because of her 5-star reviews and because she claimed to be more available than most coaches, even offering daily text reminders and check-ins. I had to keep reminding her to text me and ultimately gave up when she neglected to follow through on her commitment over and over again. She failed to deliver accountability as promised and had very limited, basic tools that she repeated over and over again. Her coaching was redundant, disorganized, uninspired, and lacked clarity and focus. I hired Julie and paid her $3000+ for coaching services. I feel like I lost money, precious time, and energy. I felt so frustrated that we ultimately agreed to end our agreement two sessions early. A full refund would have been appreciated but Julie has a No Refund policy. Buyer beware. I have since hired a different coach who is significantly more skilled and have made more progress in the last month with my new coach than I did with Julie in over 6 months. YMMV.

Julie helped me shift my approach to everything in life. As a result of our work together, I feel…read moreconfident in my ability to process my emotions, exercise purposeful thought work, and practice mindfulness. Since working with Julie, I am a lot happier. My confidence and happiness infiltrates every other part of my life, which has not gone unnoticed by family members, friends, and colleagues. One major difference between now and then is that I no longer feel the need to avoid or reject my emotions. Now, I sit with my feelings, allow the emotions to wash over me. and think about why I might be feeling what I'm feeling... and so begins the thought work!
