    Spicy Chicken Teriyaki

Such a unique teriyaki chicken plate! I absolutely loved it. So simple but so delicious. I got the spicy version which was a nice touch. Service was friendly and quick. It's a truck in a food park with outdoor seating. Nice for a cool day to have a lunch or evening date outside.

Simply the best chicken teriyaki I've ever had! Chicken had great flavor and char. It was cooked perfectly. Chili sauce on top is a nice touch. This place is in a food truck park with plenty of parking and outdoor seating. It's also dog friendly.

It was ok. The rice was very mushy like it had too much water in it. And the teriyaki sauce tasted water down.

Small restaurant tucked into a corner of a shopping center, but still has a cute, intimate vibe, complete with live music. We were seated right away, and order some apps (shishito peppers and spring rolls) which were both DIVINE. I am vegetarian, and ordered the veggie roll and the Buddha roll. My fiancé got the UT roll, and we had nothing but great things to say. Rolls were so fresh, the rice was still warm! It took a little longer than expected to come out, and we were offered miso soup on the house. Very attentive staff, delicious food, and not super busy on a Saturday night. Definitely recommend!

Very underwhelming and overpriced Bluefin tuna cold appetizer $15 Salmon roe 2pc sushi $8 (HH) - they brought the wrong thing. I asked for the salmon-Ikura which should have been 4 pieces. I ate it anyway. It was okay. House hot sake $5 (HH) awful. Tastes like it's been open too long, not fresh. Vinegar taste. Escolar sushi 2pc $6 just okay, not as buttery tender as I'm used to Madai sushi 2pc $7 good, a little chewy Chu-toro 2 pc $11 just okay, not cut straight, chewy Seared scallop 2pc $6 very good - my favorite Pros: They have kizami wasabi Plenty of parking Happy hour menu is decent Cons: The regular menu non happy hour is way overpriced The bathrooms smell awful, the stalls in the women's are so small and one door doesn't latch. I'm a normal sized person and the only useable stall was difficult to me to get in and out of. No toilet paper in the women's bathroom. And all that I reviewed above.

The sushi restaurants start making a lot of their rolls with "spicy" ingredients. They are cutting their costs by blending ingredients. Not my favorite choice in a sushi place. They have a good menu of sashimi and nigiri sushi. I was in the mood for some rolls. They were good. There are LOTS of Sushi options in the neighborhood. As a newbie in town, I'm just starting my search for my go to place. Stay tuned.

So sorry, SO SAD. Tadashi was one of my FAVORITE two sushi spots in the Austin area for years (the…read moreother is probably not what you're thinking). Just superb; a true dining experience. Treated like the regular I was, always phenomenal service, offered me special off menu items on every visit, the freshest fish, exquisite presentations...just wow. And a great happy hour to boot. Thennnnnnn... About a year prior to my last restaurant visit, I had ordered an extra large assortment of items ($$$$) for delivery for a special occasion at home. It had been a while, but I noticed immediately something was "off." Bottom line, everything was just sloppy and not as fresh as it always had been in the past. I chalked it up to delivery versus dine in. There was something in the back of my mind though that told me that Chef Sun would never have let those items leave the restaurant. Fast forward to in-house dining again. Visible wear and tear on the restaurant interior (looks old). A few plates were even chipped. Might sound nitpicky, but in my humble opinion they need to reinvest some money into the restaurant to get it back up to its shiny self. The service was lackluster, slow, cordial but not necessarily friendly. Some of my favorite menu items (such as the yummmmmy sea bass) are no longer available. Prices were significantly higher than they used to be; however, that's everywhere right? Pft. Decided to order some "safe" dishes that had always been personal favorites. Go to "Red Hill Tower" was served first. The presentation was all right. Not as meticulous as it used to be. When I dug in mixed it all together I noticed how horrible the knife work was. I mean they butchered the tuna. Knife skills are very important in sushi. Many chefs train for years. Flavor was a-okay with all the house sauces, but for 20 bucks it left me wanting more. Gyoza was greasy and chewy. Rice in California Roll was on the dry side. Katsu was also quite dry and lacked flavor. Admittedly the vegetable tempora was pretty tasty. Not surprisingly, I was informed that the restaurant had been purchased by new owners quite some time ago. All of the changes are so apparent, and none are positive. Quality control and pride of stellar presentation and service has disappeared. Tadashi is now (sobbing) sadly just another subpar sushi restaurant with much higher prices than most. Goodbye my old friend. I have no intentions of returning. :(
