We have driven by here for years and it looked kind of beat down and we were unsure what was inside. With Yelp help, I realized this is an awesome restaurant and hang out place! They have live music, outside games, inside/ outside eating, a full sized bar area. I got the Mahi sandwich and fries and my wife got a Baked potato and side salad. The Baked Potato was nice because a lot places don't offer that. This is near the beach front and within walking distance of the Boardwalk and other shops. We will definitely be back. read more

We came here on a Friday night around 9 PM and outdoor seating was the only available option. The palm trees surrounding us were beautiful, but it was breezy and very loud with the nearby live band. We decided to head back around 5:30 PM the next day and we were seated right away indoors. The server was very attentive and friendly. They have half price appetizers before 7 PM, and I ordered a pound of peel and eat shrimp for a very good price. My husband said the beef sliders were really good. I was disappointed to find out that the shrimp wasn't fresh since it's off season but they were still good with the drawn butter and cocktail sauce. They validate valet parking in their small private lot, but be prepared to pay at least six dollars an hour if you don't get in that parking space. read more

What a great way to end an awesome beach weekend! Live music, great food and outdoor seating so we could bring our dogs! We had made reservations as we had a pretty big party. We arrived and were seated immediately. We ordered just about everything on the menu and it was all fantastic! The standout for me was the fried mozzarella! I actually stopped eating my burger (also very good) so I could order another round of the gooey fried cheese. The wait staff was on fire! Always available, got pup cups for the dogs and kept our glasses full. A highlight of our weekend to be sure! read more

Not good. If it weren't for the service, which was excellent, this would have been a horrible experience. We had blackened shrimp tacos, fried oysters, and a shrimp bruschetta appetizer that tasted okay, but wasn't really a bruschetta at all. All of it was fairly tasteless. The price was VERY high too. This is our favorite place for dinner and drinks in Carolina Beach. The Shrimp Alfredo and Crab Dip are excellent and we haven't had a drink we didn't like. The staff is so awesome and friendly. The only issue we had this last visit was how hot and humid (heat index that day hit 103) it was, and there is no A/C in this mostly open air restaurant. I want to start by sharing that I emailed management privately about these concerns a week ago but never received a response, which is why I'm leaving this review. The food and service here was enjoyable, and the staff was friendly. However, we were really concerned about the cleanliness of the dining area. All of the ceiling fans--whether on or off--have a very heavy buildup of dust and dirt. The ones that were running caused dust to fall onto food and drinks, which is very unappetizing. We almost left but stayed because we had already placed our order. With so many busboys and servers walking around, I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed. This is something that should be handled by janitorial staff and maintained by the restaurant team regularly. If you are in Carolina Beach I highly recommend visiting Seawitch! We were here for a week and ended up going there 5 times. The portions are huge and they really load everything up. We ordered the blackened shrimp alfredo, the 1lb of crab legs, the shrimp tacos, among other amazing dishes. The drinks were good too, the tropical cider on tap is one of the best I have had. We came in the Spring (during low season and after a day marked by thunderstorms). It was not busy, so realized that the reservation I made weeks ago was likely unnecessary. You can tell from the layout, however, this place is built to expand exponentially in the warmer months. The interior was the usual for a seaside tiki bar, with wood plank flooring, dried grass accents and a plethora of exotic sounding cocktails. We came on St. Patrick's Day and therefore was treated to a live musician, who was quite good. Our server (who announced he was 'new') granted our request of giving us a few more minutes to peruse the menu...though that few minutes turned into more like 15 minutes. We gave him the entirety of our order (drinks AND food) in case we experienced another prolonged disappearing act. My husband got a beer and I ordered the blood orange margarita, which arrived (atypically) in a tiki glass. It tasted good to me though and my husband enjoyed his ice cold beer. I had worried a bit when our server didn't write down our actual orders, which became apparent when the side salad with apple cider vinaigrette came out as a Caesar salad instead. I decided to just go with it, even though I had my heart set on trying a cool new dressing flavor. I did thoroughly enjoy the fresh flavors in my cilantro lime shrimp tacos (would definitely have these again) and my husband really enjoyed the shrimp bruschetta pasta and was too full to eat the tasty appearing garlic bread that came with the pasta. I did love the vibe of this place and the fresh flavors of the food and drink. My only advice to the management would be to encourage new staff to actually WRITE orders down, so they don't goof them up (not all those who think they have a photographic memory actually do). Would've given 5 stars but feel it was a little overpriced. When we got there, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table and the table we got was really far away and kind of obscure. Our server was great and very polite. I did not catch her name now. Food was really good but again someone went over price. A girlfriend and I had dinner here one evening to celebrate her birthday before going to see the night flight for the kite festival. We were seated quickly at the one last table available. Our waitress got to us fairly quickly but honestly seemed like she had zero interest in being there at all. On the good side, we learned that on Friday evenings, appetizers are half price! This was our first time here, and when we got here was asked "indoor or outdoor seating" and now I just have to laugh bc their indoor seating was a roof and some walls by we got seated in the corner so basically outside. If you're coming from the boardwalk or beach just know there isn't AC. Just some big fans. We had friendly service, food was good, a little pricey (everywhere is right now) so no complaints. If we ever make it back that way we will have to bring the dogs bc it looks like the patio area is pet friendly! read more

Our family tried the Seawitch for the first time on our recent visit to Carolina Beach. We were seated outside on their very large patio and it didn't seem like they were seating anyone indoors. It was hot but we were lucky to be in the shade (most of the patio seemed to be) so it wasn't too bad. Our server was wonderful - friendly and funny and had great recommendations. For drinks we got a skinny margarita, frozen strawberry margarita, and frozen mudslide. All refreshing but we weren't impressed with the mudslide - didn't seem like there was any alcohol. We shared the homemade chips (with queso per our server's suggestion) and hush puppies. Both were great. Hush puppies are just cornmeal, no corn chunks! For my entree I had the boneless chicken bites with the cajun dry rub. Really good and great ranch on the side! Others had a burger with a great gluten free bun, and shrimp. All were happy with our food! We'd definitely visit the Seawitch again, especially in good weather and to catch some live music. read more

Went in earlier this week on a suggestion from a friend. Got in at 6:30 and opted to wait for seating that was not in direct sunlight. Grabbed a few refreshments at the bar area. Our server this evening was Sara who did a nice job going over options. We opted to start with the Tuna nachos and calamari for appetizers. Based on Yelp recommendations went with the wonton nachos on the side. Good choice. Avoided a soggy mess this way. Both that and the calamari were good. For dinner went with the mahi sandwich with fries. Would have preferred blackened mahi tacos, but they only offer fried mahi tacos. Wife went with the fried shrimp basket and my daughter chose the shrimp tacos. All were good. At 6:30 the atmosphere was relaxed. A combination of families and couples of all ages. Not sure what happens after 10 pm. Now the two questions - Would I come back? Yes. Would I recommend to family and friends? Yes, without hesitation. read more

A couple of things...first of all on our second visit here we only ordered dessert to go. Ordered key lime pie based on a recommendation. We waited a good bit of time for our order. Now you know what key lime pie is. This ain't it. I wish I had a pic but it was really key lime cake. A layered white cake situation with key lime mousse and some cream cheese frosting with whipped cream. It's sweet and it is tasty but it is not key lime pie. We simply ordered it sight unseen but key lime pie is kind of iconic and it's not cake. I tried to call ahead but there was no answer and maybe if I had reached them I'd have learned what their iteration is. The presentation was cute as it was in little layered rounds but the disappointment was set in. Second...they will probably tell you that it's a very long wait...maybe 90 minutes. On our first attempt, our name was called way sooner than that but at that point we'd gone elsewhere. It's a busy restaurant with a fun vibe and maybe one day we'll try dinner. Don't be like us and not read the description of the Key Lime Pie. Update: just learned the "pie" is David Annie's from Walmart/Foodservice so that's disappointing but I recognize it's done a lot everywhere. read more

I ordered shrimp tacos. I was nervous. I don't normally stray that far from my comfort zone but they were really good. The dry slaw on it was good. We've been coming to Pleasure Island for weekend getaways and weeklong vacations since 2013. Today, we found ourselves at Seawitch for an early dinner. We sat at the bar. CJ the bartender made us feel very welcomed. The fried mahi tacos were the best fish tacos my husband ever had and I had the Brussel sprouts. They were quite delicious and dipped in the taco's siracha mayo made them DIVINE. What a fun place with unexpected goodness! Edit: I experienced Seawitch again on 4/18 with a daughter. Yeah, no. The food was not great this time. I ordered the Brussel sprouts again but they were a dripping buttery mess. The cilantro lime shrimp tacos had no flavor and had what appeared to be only two specks of cilantro. It was very busy. Maybe the busier they are, the lower the quality of food is, therefore this was disappointing. 2 stars. read more
