"Delightful seafood, entertainment, and more in Carolina Beach" Stopped by here on a holiday Saturday night at just after 6pm, party of 2. Amazingly, we were able to get a table right away. The place is mostly "open air" with two covered areas and a few spots in the sun. A few folks had dogs there, too. They also have little spinny things on the table to keep flies away (apparently called "fly fans"). Note, enter on the beach-side, not the other side, to meet the host. There's also a stage inside for entertainment (which started later than we were there, but the band was setting up). We ordered the ahi tuna nachos, and I got a crabcake sandwich. My partner got black pearl salad. Food came out in under 20 minutes, which was impressive given the place was HOPPING. The ahi tuna nachos were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. They had bits of mango, a delicious sauce, really good nachos (made from wonton wrappers), and the tuna was amazing (served rare). It was about $20, but a very large helping. This would make a great meal for one person eating that alone. The crabcake was fine-- nothing unusual but tasty. I may not order that again, but it was good. My dining partner said the black pearl salad was really good and liked the blackberries, feta, and walnuts in it as well as the vinaigrette. Our drinks got refilled, and plates were taken away quickly when we finished any part of the meal. Our server was really nice, too. Overall, I would happily go back, and DEFINITELY want that ahi tuna nachos dish again. I recommend-- very good. read more

Super fun restaurant and live music venue! The wait can be long especially during the busy season and holidays. We had over an hour wait, but honestly it's not that big of a deal. You can wait at one of the restaurant's two bars (one in the front and one in the back), or grab a seat at a table or high top in the bar areas (if you're lucky enough to snag one) where there is open seating and a full service menu. Or take that drink and head to the stage area and enjoy some live music while you wait. The food was a bit of a hit and miss. Our appetizer, the seared ahi wonton nachos were the bomb. Perfectly seared and tender ahi, fresh and crispy wontons, with a very tasty wasabi aioli to tie it all together. My BLT was a bit dry, and my wife's fried flounder sandwich was a bit over cooked and lacking a bit in the toppings department. A lonely tomato with a single piece of lettuce, and the smallest onion ring you could possible pick from the stack. But the fun atmosphere, outdoor style seating throughout and the amazing live music with a stage and room to get your move on make up for it. Great outdoor patio with live music and plenty of patio space for the pups. This is a huge restaurant where you can come for a meal or stay all afternoon and be entertained with live music. We have driven by here for years and it looked kind of beat down and we were unsure what was inside. With Yelp help, I realized this is an awesome restaurant and hang out place! They have live music, outside games, inside/ outside eating, a full sized bar area. I got the Mahi sandwich and fries and my wife got a Baked potato and side salad. The Baked Potato was nice because a lot places don't offer that. This is near the beach front and within walking distance of the Boardwalk and other shops. We will definitely be back. read more

We came here on a Friday night around 9 PM and outdoor seating was the only available option. The palm trees surrounding us were beautiful, but it was breezy and very loud with the nearby live band. We decided to head back around 5:30 PM the next day and we were seated right away indoors. The server was very attentive and friendly. They have half price appetizers before 7 PM, and I ordered a pound of peel and eat shrimp for a very good price. My husband said the beef sliders were really good. I was disappointed to find out that the shrimp wasn't fresh since it's off season but they were still good with the drawn butter and cocktail sauce. They validate valet parking in their small private lot, but be prepared to pay at least six dollars an hour if you don't get in that parking space. read more

The ambiance was relaxed, and service was stellar. The food was delicious. We had a mahi burger and cheeseburger. The mahi was cooked to perfection, with a wonderful cucumber wasabi sauce and crisp fries on the side. Burger was cooked right as well. We will visit again. read more

What a great way to end an awesome beach weekend! Live music, great food and outdoor seating so we could bring our dogs! We had made reservations as we had a pretty big party. We arrived and were seated immediately. We ordered just about everything on the menu and it was all fantastic! The standout for me was the fried mozzarella! I actually stopped eating my burger (also very good) so I could order another round of the gooey fried cheese. The wait staff was on fire! Always available, got pup cups for the dogs and kept our glasses full. A highlight of our weekend to be sure! read more

We had such a great time here. We walked from our hotel. We had to wait about an hour but got a drink from the bar and sat in the courtyard and listened to music. Lots of dogs around. Dinner was fast and fairly cheap. The band was starting up as we left. Next time we will go later to have the band playing while we are eating dinner. read more

This is our favorite place for dinner and drinks in Carolina Beach. The Shrimp Alfredo and Crab Dip are excellent and we haven't had a drink we didn't like. The staff is so awesome and friendly. The only issue we had this last visit was how hot and humid (heat index that day hit 103) it was, and there is no A/C in this mostly open air restaurant. I want to start by sharing that I emailed management privately about these concerns a week ago but never received a response, which is why I'm leaving this review. The food and service here was enjoyable, and the staff was friendly. However, we were really concerned about the cleanliness of the dining area. All of the ceiling fans--whether on or off--have a very heavy buildup of dust and dirt. The ones that were running caused dust to fall onto food and drinks, which is very unappetizing. We almost left but stayed because we had already placed our order. With so many busboys and servers walking around, I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed. This is something that should be handled by janitorial staff and maintained by the restaurant team regularly. If you are in Carolina Beach I highly recommend visiting Seawitch! We were here for a week and ended up going there 5 times. The portions are huge and they really load everything up. A girlfriend and I had dinner here one evening to celebrate her birthday before going to see the night flight for the kite festival. We were seated quickly at the one last table available. Our waitress got to us fairly quickly but honestly seemed like she had zero interest in being there at all. On the good side, we learned that on Friday evenings, appetizers are half price! We came in the Spring (during low season and after a day marked by thunderstorms). It was not busy, so realized that the reservation I made weeks ago was likely unnecessary. You can tell from the layout, however, this place is built to expand exponentially in the warmer months. The interior was the usual for a seaside tiki bar, with wood plank flooring, dried grass accents and a plethora of exotic sounding cocktails. We came on St. Patrick's Day and therefore was treated to a live musician, who was quite good. Our server (who announced he was 'new') granted our request of giving us a few more minutes to peruse the menu...though that few minutes turned into more like 15 minutes. We gave him the entirety of our order (drinks AND food) in case we experienced another prolonged disappearing act. My husband got a beer and I ordered the blood orange margarita, which arrived (atypically) in a tiki glass. It tasted good to me though and my husband enjoyed his ice cold beer. I had worried a bit when our server didn't write down our actual orders, which became apparent when the side salad with apple cider vinaigrette came out as a Caesar salad instead. I decided to just go with it, even though I had my heart set on trying a cool new dressing flavor. I did thoroughly enjoy the fresh flavors in my cilantro lime shrimp tacos (would definitely have these again) and my husband really enjoyed the shrimp bruschetta pasta and was too full to eat the tasty appearing garlic bread that came with the pasta. I did love the vibe of this place and the fresh flavors of the food and drink. My only advice to the management would be to encourage new staff to actually WRITE orders down, so they don't goof them up (not all those who think they have a photographic memory actually do). Might have gone with five stars if my order had been correct. Cool place though and worth checking out. read more

Would've given 5 stars but feel it was a little overpriced. When we got there, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table and the table we got was really far away and kind of obscure. Our server was great and very polite. I did not catch her name now. Food was really good but again someone went over price. This was our first time here, and when we got here was asked "indoor or outdoor seating" and now I just have to laugh bc their indoor seating was a roof and some walls by we got seated in the corner so basically outside. If you're coming from the boardwalk or beach just know there isn't AC. Just some big fans. We had friendly service, food was good, a little pricey (everywhere is right now) so no complaints. If we ever make it back that way we will have to bring the dogs bc it looks like the patio area is pet friendly! read more

Our family tried the Seawitch for the first time on our recent visit to Carolina Beach. We were seated outside on their very large patio and it didn't seem like they were seating anyone indoors. It was hot but we were lucky to be in the shade (most of the patio seemed to be) so it wasn't too bad. Our server was wonderful - friendly and funny and had great recommendations. For drinks we got a skinny margarita, frozen strawberry margarita, and frozen mudslide. All refreshing but we weren't impressed with the mudslide - didn't seem like there was any alcohol. We shared the homemade chips (with queso per our server's suggestion) and hush puppies. Both were great. Hush puppies are just cornmeal, no corn chunks! For my entree I had the boneless chicken bites with the cajun dry rub. Really good and great ranch on the side! Others had a burger with a great gluten free bun, and shrimp. All were happy with our food! We'd definitely visit the Seawitch again, especially in good weather and to catch some live music. read more
