The ambience was really nice. I liked the open kitchen and the fact that the owner was there the whole time we were there. Our waiter struggled a little bit with English so at one point the owner approached our table and offered us a more clear explanation of what they had for dessert and then asked the waiter to get us a sample of everything. Good call. An overall great experience. If you're touring Istanbul, don't let those big restaurants on Istiklal Street suck you in. Instead, look for this place (or places like this) tucked away on one of the side streets.

Mehmet our server Spoke excellent English. If you want to escape the tourist areas this is the place to go to dine with the locals.
