The clothes are a bit more expensive than your average retailers, but they're high quality and vintage, as well as the staff basically helping tailor anything that doesn't quite fit right. The place is so good I made an account just to rate it.

Fabulous boutique specialising in "Antique, Boutique and Vintage"…read more The shop emits a luxurious feel with it's well displayed wares in the smallish space. There is none of the clutter to lessen the shopping experience that you get in so many of the London vintage shops, giving the impression that each item has been hand picked for this store, rather than being a jumble sale that you have to wade through in hope of stumbling across a gem. I loved the women's bags and accessories, and happily left with some scarves for my collection. I expect that I will be back before my short stay in Lincoln is over. Definitely worth a visit!

I was drawn in by the accessories in the window. They had some cute stuff, nothing in my size and the accessories, while lovely, were not necessities on this particular trip. The clothing selection is a bit limited because there is no clutter and the racks aren't overflowing with clothing, but that's kind of what I like about it.

Ooooh, I LOVE this shop. You could easily wander in first thing Monday morning and not come out…read moretill Wednesday lunchtime. There are rails and rails of clothes from the 1920s onwards, a men's section on the third floor and oodles of linen, accessories, hats and suitcases. Even old, working sewing machines, buttons and fabulous Vogue patterns from the 1950s. Just when you think you've seen everything, there's another nook or cranny just waiting to be explored. The only heartbreaking thing is that in many cases, the sizes are just too small for most people today. A consequence of changing body shapes, I suppose. But if you are a size 16, then prepare for a long rummage to find something your size. I know, I've been there. But if you look like Christina Hendricks, there's every chance you could leave looking like an extra from Mad Men or like you've walked from the pages of The Best of Everything. Now, the only thing is to find Don Draper.....
As a purveyor of all that is interesting I am always on the lookout for a place that sells…read morecuriosities and the like. There are plenty of such places in Peterborough, however Sue Ryder Vintage is by far and away the most impressive. Set over two storeys they have everything from vintage fashion (with designer brands not uncommon) to old cameras, retro video games and collectibles from the last century going all the way into antiquities. There is also a large collection of vintage records on offer as well. There is truly something for everyone here whether you are going in simply to browse or have intent to find that one special item. The staff here are all enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. It is nice to visit a vintage store and have passionate people to talk shop with as it were. This definitely adds to the atmosphere of the place which is something that you will definitely want to soak up and enjoy. The icing on the cake for me is that the prices are very reasonable for what is on offer and often, I find things for less than I see them going for on ebay and the like. Whenever I am in town I always pop into Sue Ryder Vintage and I can only recommend that you do too. It is really a place where you can kill a few hours poking your nose into corners and discovering some fantastic bits of history for sale.

This appears like magic on the streets of Norwich every 8th of the month…read more It's a great idea and way to get rid of things you don't want any more. It's like a bring and buy sale but without case trading. They have several tables set out on the busy street where you have a look and if you like something simply take it and say thank you. You never know what you might see there. In the past I've seen jigsaws to ski boots. It's a got a kind of a studenty vibe to it which isn't a bad thing. In the current climate I'd imaged those who would have normally walked passed and balked at the idea of having something second hand may now not be so hoity toity.
