Needed a state inspection. Brought car to Rick's auto service , where we were told that the right…read moreball joint was loose and the truck was failed for this. Brought truck back to my mechanic and asked him to replace right front ball joint. Mechanic notified me that the right ball joint had no wear and should definitely pass the Mass State inspectio. I called Rick's to ask if the inspector was there, and he was. I drove truck to Ricks auto service and asked to have car put on the lift again so they could show me the so-called "badly worn" ball joint. Amazingly enough , the ball joint in question was now tight. Must've been the ride to Fitchburg that fixed it? Very dishonest shop, and owner sat cowering in his locked office while all of this unfolded. I can almost accept the extremely rude behavior of the cowardly owner, but the incompetence and just plain lying is really sad. He's lucky he's the only game in town. We needed to have the car towed from house to the dealer for service. The driver was nice, and very careful loading up the car so everything seemed fine. When I asked him to hand the key to the dealer service rep, he said he'd just drop the car in the first available spot because the dealership is under construction and very busy. I immediately called the dealer to tell them the car would be there in about 30 min. The car was towed to the dealer, but the key was NOT handed to anyone and somehow lost! The driver claimed to have left it in the cup holder yet the dealer valet and service team could not locate it. Now, no one claims responsibility and we're out $200 to replace the key. West claims that it is routine for their drivers to just leave the key, but doesn't it seem reasonable to hand it off to an employee during business hours? Oh, and I had to drive to the dealer to provide the only remaining key so they could work on the car. Again, what seemed like good, careful service was lacking responsibility in something as simple as providing the car key to a dealer employee. I wouldn't recommend West again to deliver a car to a location. It seems it's their policy to drop it and leave.

On the evening of 3/29/24 my fuel tank dropped out of my truck while driving home through Hubbardston. 20 years of salted roads took their toll and the straps rusted through. Ryan arrived on site in record time and had my 2004 Tundra and a full gas tank off the road and headed to the TJ shop on Gardner straight away. It took several days to get the necessary replacement parts from Toyota, but as soon as they arrived, Ryan had the new tank in place and I was on my way. Great service, good value, fair prices!
