I ordered the "Luca Brazi" sandwich which was excellent and took home half the sandwich for dinner tonight. *Important footnote...I NEVER have leftovers when I order dinner. I ALWAYS eat EVERYTHING!! Funari, Kiley and Sherman frequently got together on weekends to embrace their love of homebrewing. After doing this for a number of years, and building up a local following distributing their home-brews from a blue cooler, they decided to open a brick & mortar brewery and taproom. At this time, DiBona came on board as a partner and assisted with the search for a location. After exausting all options in the seaside town of Hull, the partners acquired a 3,000-sq-ft space in the "craft beer friendly" town of Weymouth. The name "Vitamin Sea" was chosen to reflect Funari's love of surfing and surf culture. The brewery quickly gained a reputation for their juicy New England IPAs, decadent Stouts, and experimental Fruited Sours. A second location opened along the waterfront in Plymouth in May 2024. I recently visited Vitamin Sea's Plymouth location while I was in town for the day. I was scheduled to meet up with some other beer bloggers at a different brewery later. I soon realized that Plymouth has an excellent craft beer scene and decided to head to Vitamin Sea first. The Plymouth facility is a beautiful location along the waterfront. I really liked the nautical/surf design theme too! I grabbed a seat at the bar and began to look over the menu. I heard that the Plymouth location is known for their excellent ciabatta sandwiches, so I ordered the "Parm to Table" (oven-roasted chicken cutlet, house-made marinara, melted mild & aged provolone, Parmesan, whipped lemon ricotta, basil on toasted ciabatta). It was the BEST chicken cutlet sandwich I've ever had in my life! What made it stand apart from other sandwiches? The whipped lemon ricotta! I washed it down with a pour of "Currency Check" (Double New England IPA), followed by "Mexican Blanket" (Imperial Stout). The beer, like the food, was fantastic! I must also point out that the staff were so friendly, knowledgable, and helpful throughout my visit. I highly recommend Vitamin Sea Brewing and look forward to visiting their Weymouth location!

Second Wind Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in Plymouth, Massachusetts in May 2018. It was…read morefounded by homebrewing friends J.R. Shepard, Ken Semcken, and Hans Terbush. The three partners would spend weekends together homebrewing with friends and fine-tuning their beer. Terbush became a certified beer server and Semcken and Shepard passed the exam to become certified Cicerones (the beer equivalent of a wine sommelier). Eventually, they wanted to open their own brick & mortar brewery. Second Hand's small taproom and outdoor beer garden opened on Howland Street in 2018. The popularity of their beer soon took off, and in 2020 their 3 1/2-barrel system was upgraded to a 7-barrel system. An even larger secondary taproom with a full kitchen opened down the street at 11 Main Street in December 2025. While most of the brewing operations still continue at the original Howland Street location, customers can enjoy more space and a delicious menu of food curated by Chef Stephen Coe at the Main Street location. Coe is locally famous for his Lobsta Love food trucks and nationally known for his win against celebrity chef Bobby Flay on the Food Network's "Chopped: Beat Bobby Flay."  I recently visited both of Second Wind Brewing's locations while I was in Plymouth for the day. After checking out a couple of other breweries in town, I headed for the Howland Street taproom. Things are a little smaller here, but they offer a more intimate experience. The outdoor patio seating is a nice place to kick back on a warm weather day. I pulled up a seat at the bar and enjoyed a can pour of "Cent'anni" (Italian Pilsner), followed by a draught pour of "Four the Shore" [2026] (Session New England IPA). The pilsner was crisp and refreshing while the IPA was light with nice notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Afterwards, I made a short walk down the street to the larger taproom. It was much more spacious here and there were some flatsceen TVs playing sports games. I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the food menu. I ordered the "Pork Belly & Mozzarella Arancini" (served with/ romesco, arugula & cheese sauce) and the "Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap" (Romaine Caesar dressing, blue cheese croutons) with "Sidewinder Fries". The food was excellent! I washed it down with a draught pour of "Buckshot" (Hazy IPA). verall, I had an enjoyable experience at both locations and I would definitley return to either one the next time I'm in Plymouth!

The community has watched the construction on this place for over five years, and Second Wind gave us the best possible reward: an un-fussed, un-pretentious un-official opening the day before Thanksgiving. I couldn't make it that night, but I stopped by that Friday. They were busy and buzzing. The Space: The new brew pub is gorgeous. It mixes modern, industrial elements (exposed piping, cool metal lighting) with dark, comfortable features like the stylish leather lounge seating. It manages to feel both expansive and cozy, with digital menu boards above the bar keeping the beer list clear. This is a high-end taproom designed for settling in for the night. The Beer: I started with the Known and Loved IPA (5.4% ABV), and it was exactly the sessionable, hazy delight I needed after a long holiday. Citrusy, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. It's clear that even as they manage this expansion, the quality of the beer remains top-tier. The Food (The Gossip): Now, the big question: where's the food? The official story is that they are waiting for final food service permits as they finalize their partnership with the legendary Executive Chef, Stephen Coe. However, I've been tipped off by a very reliable "insider" at the bar: Chef Coe is still on a 60-day jail sentence for the sheer brutality of the beating he administered to Bobby Flay on national television. It was apparently an assault charge disguised as a culinary competition. The pub is just buying time until he serves his sentence and can be released back into the wild to run the kitchen. In all seriousness, the future looks incredibly bright. This is already a phenomenal spot for a pint, and once Chef Coe is free and wielding his cutlery, this place will be unstoppable. Go check out the new digs and tell the staff you're sending positive energy (and a file baked into a cake) to their executive chef!

Forty Second plays on the fact that the 42nd parallel runs straight through Kingston. In fact, there's even a marker celebrating this off of Landing Road, a short distance from Bay Farm. The owners of Forty Second Brew Co. have turned a run-down old restaurant space that had seen better days into a cool space of exposed brick, rough hewn boards, and delicious IPAs. If you're lucky, you'll be there when one of the patrons kicks a keg so you can see how they celebrate such milestones and commemorate them on social media. Update: By the time I made it there for my second visit within two weeks I got recognized for kicking a keg of their Three Sheets To the Wind IPA (6.9 ABV), I had the privilege of joining a winning trivia team, and celebrated the birthday of a new friend. After 15 minutes of waiting in the booth, we called over who looked like an assistant manager and she advised the host didn't tell anyone we had been seated so, no one was assigned to our table and it would be a few minutes. So we wait - and two separate parties came in long after us, were seated and had service while we were STILL ignored. I'd hate to think your staff is discriminatory, but there was literally no reason for the absolute shabby treatment we received. We got up to leave and only then when we walked to the door did they CLEAR the table, which was laughable because we didn't even have water. I have been to your establishment in Providence and enjoyed myself but your Plymouth location is always mostly empty. You'd assume that would mean there's work to do and improvements to be made and here's a prime example. I will never return and will advise everyone I know of the same and given the 3 star review on Yelp, I'd assume many people have had similar issues, so buyer beware.
