That being said, my experience has left a bad taste in my mouth after receiving a small postcard 4 months after move-in notifying me that the monthly storage free was going to DOUBLE next month! Obviously they have the right to operate that way, but it is not customer friendly and is just bad business. I've had storage units with Extra Space at multiple locations on and off for 10+ years now. Extra Space has always increased rent by a noticeable amount, but in the past they occurred once or twice a year and were a fraction of the amount. After 3 months at this Orlando location, we received a letter saying our unit price was more than DOUBLING from $78 to $150 with a 30 day notice. We called and were told there was nothing they could do about the price increase and also told us they do rate increases every 3-9 months meaning in another few months there will 100% be another rate increase. We've been using storage units for years and have never had this problem. We are now having to move all of our stuff to another storage unit because of this company.
