They're a short walk from my house and are brilliant on a hot summer's day because they are right next to Lake Pupuke - perfect for a quick dip post hit (I feel obligated to mentioned here that whilst Lake Pupuke does the trick, it's not the nicest lake - there's a reasonable amount of swan poop in it and depending on where you go, there's weeds too). For those more competitive types they also have coaching for all ages as well as interclub. There are 6 floodlit courts, clubrooms with basic facilities and a concrete wall where you can have a hit by yourself. Unfortunately, you have to be a member to use the courts but from memory the membership prices are reasonable (check out their website for more details).

There is a Les Mills Gym, a large swimming pool, a spa pool, some saunas, and even a dive pool with diving boards. I had a visit during the week, before lunch time, so the toddlers pool was booked out with a swim group, so we were offered the fun section of the big pool we just had to share it with some swimmers, which was not a problem at all. The water was a lot cooler than the toddlers pool would have been but my little guy is obsessed with water so that was not a problem. There were a few lifeguards on duty, who were looking after us all, and although a large amount of little seven year old's did show up for weekly sports class, we seemed to all just co exist in the space happily. I am yet to enquire about the gym on site which I think would be so convenient for mums with little children as they have a creche that is connected to the whole complex, talk about convenience. Car park space outside is close to the leisure centre and is also all free to park in if you are using the facilities. The changing rooms, are big enough to have a quick change and the showers were clean, although I think jandals should always be essential in public showers, just a tip. I will be back for sure, as I love the fact that I get to relax and enjoy a swim with my child and we both benefit from it.

Nothing has changed much. There are slides, diving boards, steam rooms, saunas, pools with lanes and a kiddie pool. I love how you no longer have to pay to use the lockers.... You just need to bring your own lock and key. They probably change this because things use to get stolen all the times. So make sure you bring a lock! Another thing that has changed is that It seems like this place has become the ultimate hang out for old asian people during the working week. I am quite shy with walking around naked in the change rooms, but the old asian ladies are not, just a warning!

Firstly, it's the perfect size - big enough that you feel like you're at the "tennis" but small enough that even if you are sitting in the nosebleeds (as we were) you still have a great view. I even forgot my glasses and still didn't have any troubles seeing the ball, which is really saying something. Secondly, the hospitality/food area set up out the back is great. This year they got Masu on board to provide a fancy food alternative, which I loved. Food at sporting events is normally so average - hot chips, hot dogs and the like - that it's an absolute treat to see a decent alternative for those willing to spend a little more coin. I have no idea what they use this stadium for year round - junior competitions I suppose - but I hope that it's maintained and continues to operate just as it did at this year's Festival of Tennis! The staff were super friendly and helpful, and although the place is a bit rough around the edges, it's still a good venue for this kind of affair. Loads of room, good seating arrangements that aren't too far from the court despite being in what my Dad calls 'the nosebleed section', an unusual but workable system for the café, and generally good vibes, it's got a lot going for it!

It has this great path all the way around the park with exercise activities you can do while you are walking or running around. You can also come here for sports acitivies, soccer, cricket, rugby etc. Also onsite is the Ellerslie YMCA which also has a child centre. On the otherside there is also the duck pond and wildlife reserve with lots of ducks and pukekos. Its a great park if you are in or near the area, and its one that I miss going to as I just to be just a hop and a skip away from it.

Played netball here for years…read more It is a great place to play social sports. My low rating is due to the facilities. They are a sports venue and don't even have a drinking fountain. You used to be able to fill up your water bottle from an outdoor tap, the handle on this tap has since been removed. For a place to play sports not to have a place to full up your drink bottles aside from the warm toilet taps is just not good enough.

The place is owned and run by a great guy called Matt who lives out his passion for indoor sports by playing in a number of teams throughout the year. All games are umpired/refereed by his staff who are usually around to have a beer and a laugh with after the games. The renovated warehouse holds 3 astro-turf courts which are marked out for cricket, soccer and netball and are sectioned off with floor-to-ceiling nets. There is a fully licenced bar (which sells beer and RTD's at pretty reasonable prices) and a lounge with couches and SKY TV. Plenty of parking out the front and just 10 minutes from the CBD. Their catch phrase says it all really "The most fun indoors....with your clothes on" !

The park also has big rugby and soccer fields and tennis and squash courts are located here. The best entrance for the playground is if coming from the Beach Haven shops there is an entrance on the left before John Bracken Way. So all in all its a very handy park.

Very friendly players all around and keen to see us looked after on their home ground. While waiting for team two to finish their game we sat on the upstairs covered deck where we had a birds-eye view of the courts. This tennis club has been around for a long time and the membership is strong. If you are a local and love tennis I'd recommend popping in if you've not already done so.
