I bought a pair of frames and ordered my prescription lenses thru them. It took about a month to receive them (which is a pretty long time, most places take 1-2 max). Once the frames arrived with the new prescription, i picked them up and wore them for a few weeks. I know it takes a couple days for your eyes to adjust to a new prescription but something was completely off and I kept getting headaches. A months later I go to my optometrist and I get my prescription checked. Apparently the lab put in my wrong prescription. I go to the store and I told them the situation and they tell me that they will order me new prescription lenses and they will call me when it isn't. Two weeks later when I arrived, I went back so they can swap it out, but turns out they cut the lenses incorrectly to the frame so I had to wait another two weeks for the new lenses to arrive. After the third time they got it right. However, just under a year my lenses were all scratched and the coating was peeling off for no reason. I've been wearing glasses for 30 years and this is never happened before, so I called them to see if it was covered and they said I still have to pay 50% of the lenses which is still about $200. Which is INSANE. They didn't seem apologetic or were not able to help out. I don't understand why everything was so expensive for such poor quality and high prices. read more

While they replaced the lenses which were defective, the new lenses (transitionals) did the same thing within a matter of a few weeks. Whatever type of coating they use on the lenses distort. They blamed it on heat (in Las Vegas), but I have other pairs of transitional lenses and have never had a problem. They have nice frames, but the lenses suck. The store did not respond to my recent email asking for them to replace the lenses yet again. Now I will be spending hundreds of dollars to get replacement lenses. read more

My go to when wanting to spend my FSA allocations. The staff here are always very approachable and informative. They allow you time on your own to shop around without the feeling of being rushed or bombarded w questions/pressure to buy. My visit with Lianna was particularly pleasant. I started getting glasses from SEE in 2018. They're the lightest I've had to date. I do wash my glasses everyday with some soap and water but besides some minor paint chips, it has held up well. I go back periodically for minor fixings like screw and nose pad replacements for free. The Glendale branch DID close last year because of Covid, initially was supposed to be a permanent close, but I'm glad they're back. Although these are expensive, one pair was about $300 for frames only, it's real quality and each pair is small-batch, less than 100 copies made per line. I've worn glasses since grade school for everyday use and because of that, I like getting new glasses every two to three years. Both for style and to match my eyes which weren't stablizing until recently. I have been stable for three years now and could get lasik, but all it'd do is lower my eye prescription grade. Getting fancy glasses may not be your thing. But it's like choosing between basic Walmart shoes and a pair of Nikes. Unfortunately, like most other shops in the Americana, validation isn't offered anymore. Only Nordstrom, Cheesecake and Barnes & Noble do validations now. Make sure to get a validation since Americana doesn't do 90 minute free parking anymore. read more

Only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because of the Dr. and the ability to get me in for a same day eye exam. I had my first eye exam in years and upon completion was presented a few frames to try on. After figuring out pricing with my insurance and what the total cost would be is when the hard selling began. I asked for my prescription and saw it written down on a small piece of paper he claimed were just "numbers used to plug in to the computer" and was never provided my prescription. After explaining I wanted to look around at my other options, as it is going to be my first pair of glasses, he continued to try and pressure me into purchasing a pair. I was expecting this experience to be enjoyable and helpful but I came out feeling taken advantage of. I was never given my prescription until I called and requested it. When I received the email of it, it was incomplete and they had left out part of it! The only reason I figured this out was because when I provided the prescription to a woman at a store I was browsing frames at, telling her I had an astigmatism, she told me there was nothing on the prescription showing that. She was kind enough to call them for me and make them send the full prescription. They saw me as an opportunity and tried to take advantage of that. Luckily I was able to figure out my correct prescription but not without a hassle. Please be aware of this before going to See. read more

Terrible and dishonest business. I brought in two prescriptions -- one for reading, one for distance -- and paid just over $1,000.00 for the two pairs of glasses. The readers were fine, but the distance glasses were blurry -- in other words, they were of no use to me. If I were to wear them driving, I would endanger other drivers; in any other context, they would have been utterly frustrating, hence I refused to accept the distance glasses. I had paid in advance, however, and the business refused to refund my money OR re-make the distance glasses. So, I disputed a portion of the charge with my credit card company. See Eyewear then LIED to the card issuer in response to my dispute, claiming that I had accepted both pairs of glasses (I had in fact only accepted one pair, not both). Not only was See Eyewear poor in terms of its workmanship, it refused to accept responsibility for its mistake, and flat-out lied in order to keep my money. This is really an awful, shameful business. There are MANY similar shops. I would urge you NOT to take a gamble on this deceitful, unreliable company. read more

I tend to write only positive reviews but I feel it is important to share this information. SEE charges an exorbitant amount for frames and lenses. For my pair it was about $1200. I needed glasses and had to pay out of pocket because my insurance benefit is every other year. The glasses frames are very stylish and I chose SEE for this reason. The attentive customer service was a nice plus and they added incentives so I thought I was getting a reasonable deal. When the glasses arrived I was surprised by the thinness if the lens. It felt flimsy and looked very thin, like a sheet of acetate or firm plastic wrap rather than acrylic or glass. Within 6 months I had scratched the lens when cleaning them with a soft cloth (my flannel shirt). The scratch was so big as to impede my vision. My eye doctor suggested that most places have a 1 year warranty and I should go back to SEE and ask. The eyeglasses fairy/demon also ended up wreaking havoc in my life when a pair of Warby Parker glasses I bought were run over by a car and scratched and the part that goes over my ears was stretched outrageously! So, on the same day that I took my WP glasses in, I stopped by SEE. Note: the WP glasses were a mess, but surprisingly sturdy and the attendant said, we can fix these for free. (I bought both pairs within a week of each other 6 months ago). My expectation of SEE was high because WP, the "cheap" glasses were so accommodating. SEE has a 50% warranty on lenses. 50% for me came out to $250. That's equivalent to a new pair of bifocals from WP. But that's not my point. My point is that SEE lenses, according to my untrained self, are inferior quality to all other lenses I've ever had. And the warranty is inferior to the industry standard. I wish I hadn't been so vain and spendy when I chose SEE. I hope this helps inform your decision. read more

Sadly, I was everything but impressed. My wife and I were in need of new sunglasses. They do not offer any optometry service, so after we had spend an hour selecting the right frames and doing all the paperwork for my wife and myself, which took longer than selecting the frames ;-) we were sent away to go and see an optometrist to get the paperwork. We did have some, were too old - no change to take our current glasses which were totally fine - go and see and make an appointment, which we did. Could not get one right away anywhere, so it took a couple of days. We went back - same guy, did not remember, had sold the frames we picked, even though he had promised to hold on. He had all our details - no attempt to call and ask if we still wanted them. I really wanted to leave, but my wife kept me from walking. Picked out a new frame, all the paperwork .... and was told the glasses were ready by the end of the week (we were in Monday). Friday morning I called, they said the deliveries come in between 2-3pm, so come in late afternoon. I did. No glasses. they were not even coated yet. Come back Tuesday, I was told. Called again, oh yes, glasses have arrived, drove over, parked, walked - my glasses had indeed arrived, my wife's not. Not even made yet. Come back Friday - a week later that - well promised would be too much to say. Now, both sets have arrived - and are OK. I say OK, because I came with not only a precise idea but a sample of color and coating I wanted - and it just doesn't match. It's OK - but for $500+ OK is simply not good enough. Moment of truth: would I make a detour to go (mandatory for five stars): definitely no. Would I go again (four stars): I fear I would rather not. Did they exceed my expectation (three stars): so that is a no from me too.... so we part with sad two stars. read more

Before visiting the SEE Eyewear store in Glendale, I called to find out the most convenient place to park. I explained to Gigi, the manager, that I have lung issues, use an oxygen concentrator and have difficulty walking distances. She not only recommended the easiest place to park, but met me at the valet and escorted me to the store. She displayed both excellent customer service and human kindness. (And isn't kindness what great customer service should be about?) Gigi went on to repair the SEE glasses I had purchased in Pittsburgh, cleaned and straightened my backup pair and even gave me a new case for the backup pair. I LOVE the selection here. Sometimes I see people on TV who wear specs have like 5-6-7 different frames... and I never thought it was because they can afford it - Instead I always asked myself how in the hell they were able to find so many that looked good on them! I'm lucky to even find one pair these days. True Story: One time I picked out FIVE frames at Lens Crafters and when I sat down to try them on they were all the same exact frame. I thought they were different glasses that had subtle differences, but nope... I picked up FIVE Rayban 5184's... Walking into SEE was like that time when we first got glasses and could actually see the leaves on tree's...remember that? This is what going to SEE is like. GREAT selection. They had the clear frames I was looking for for over a year... In fact, they had seven different styles of clear frames. The gal helping me was funny, and patient with me while I practically tried every single frame on. She offered me a discount for buying a second frame. ALSO - BONUS! The price on the lenses is the total cost... No extra for lenses, etc... Just the usual extra costs for scratch guard and anti reflection, etc...that's normal. Selection saves this place from its downsides... which are: -LOOOONG turn around times. Almost two weeks. BOO! -They are not up to speed on the digital machines to lock in my pupil location. This makes me nervous - in fact as I write this I wonder if my review is premature because I haven't gotten the glasses yet and what if them not having this machine will affect the accuracy of my glasses? We'll see. Again, not sure if this is worth hurting their rating though...I mean, this is how glasses were made for decades before optometry got all kinds of fancy. -Doesn't take insurance. This is padded by their cost effective lenses though. I do admit that the frames I got were as cheap as my Tiffany, Rayban or Prada's (I promise that is not a show-boaty comment, its just the brands they sell at LC's) AFTER insurance and discounts at Lens Crafters, so idk if faulting them for the insurance is fair. ^^ Thoes woes are only worth a single star though... because again, these mofos had the frames I have been looking for, forever! If you are looking for eccentric lenses GO HERE! They'll have something for you. If you need said lenses today or tomorrow, understand that wont happen. BUT if that IS the case, know that you can buy the frames and take your new frames to Lens Crafters or anyone who does hour-turnaround glasses and have them same day - so that is good news. I'll update if the turnaround time is longer than promised, or if their semi-outdated technology affected the quality of my lenses. FINALLY, I can see AND I got some glasses that are cute as hell! read more

Without hesitation Kyrsti jumped on the phone and called about 6 different place. We ordered prescription glasses for my husband and got to work with both Serge & Cesar at SEE eyewear, from the beginning they were both so helpful, patient & easy to work with. Unfortunately my husbands Dr. wrote out a completely incorrect prescription & it wasn't until another month that we figured out it was incorrect and came back to see if they can help us out.
