We didn't have the money so I bought the Seeing Stars tutoring kit ($600) and hired local tutors an hour a week($50/hr). My daughter made some progress. My daughter was not very cooperative. When she was in 6th grade she was reading at a 4th grade level. We spent $ 8k for 4 weeks of tutoring, 3 hours a day. Our daughter jumped from a 4th grade to a 6th grade reading level. The tutors were able to cajole her into doing her work. This year she was able to score Advanced on the Biology MCAS and a 4 on APWorldHistory.
