I've worked with Stephany mostly, but also had a session with Katie. Their training (MPT, DPT) and experience (24 years for Stephany) enable them to home in surprisingly quickly on causes of pain. My right shoulder has been really hurting after a fall. The usual culprits, muscle trauma and arthritis, are major sources of this pain. But Stephany soon realized that a pinched nerve in my cervical spine is also causing substantial pain. She's given me a menu of stretching and extension exercises that are simple and effective. And after she has worked on--manipulated--my shoulder for a while, I leave PTSMC feeling decidedly better. Katie worked with me one time when Stephany was unavailable. She had thoroughly discussed my problems with Stephany beforehand, and I got the same level of expert therapy guidance from Katie as I had experienced with Stephany. Stephany and Katie are pleasant and patient. Sidney and Sam at the front desk are pleasant and invariably helpful. The studio itself is bright with plenty of outside light streaming in through the windows, well laid out, and clean. After years of physical therapy that was annoying, but necessary, I consider myself very lucky to have come across PTSMC, where I actually look forward to my physical therapy sessions. Five stars and three thumbs up.

I was at wits end. It seemed like my mother was the only person who believed that there was really a something wrong with not only my right knee, but my left knee. I hurt myself really badly playing basketball. I hurt both knees on the same day. I couldn't believe it. I had played sports 5 days a week for my whole life. Then I couldn't even walk a block without walking b/c of all the pain. It was so depressing. The doctors at the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia told me there was nothing wrong with me. I think I saw them 4 times. I saw Dr. Larry Miller around 5 times. The kicker I had to keep waiting 3-4 weeks in between appointments hoping that the next time would be different. I couldn't give up. I finally decided to try someone else. Someone said that he was one of the best on the east coast. He also fit me in right away. I remember to this day it was November 20th. I was injured in February. from February to November 20th barely able to walk in pain. Then Dr Fulterson (I remember this like it was yesterday) He read my MRI...and felt my right knee. There were two areas of distinct pain. He said you definitely have some torn cartilage. He also said that there may be two tears. He said the pain that I was having was not from the exact area was showing the tear on the MRI. He then said that I can operate on the 26th of November. So after 8 months of agony and helplessness in one visit I had someone who verified that there was a problem and that he would try and fix it. That he offered to do it 6 days later. I felt like he cared so much. I wound up getting a 5th opinion from the Texas Rangers Baseball Club team orthopedist and he concurred that there was some kind of tear by just reading the MRI. He recommended I get the surgery done by Dr. Paul Sethi in Greenwich. I went to Dr. Sethi who also gave me a half hour and went all over the MRI and felt my knee. Dr. Sethi fit me in and did the surgery which lasted 2 hours longer then he thought it would take. I had both a torn meniscus and torn articular cartilage that lined the femor. I was on crutches for 4 weeks and had rehab of another 18 months. He also performed surgery on a minor lateral meniscus tear on my left knee. I know walk without pain after going through 16 months of almost not being able to walk a block without crying. Dr. Fulkerson was the first one who made me feel like I wasn't crazy. Dr. Freedman of Jefferson in Phila told me that if I kept on looking and seeing enough doctors that I would find something even though there was nothing to find. He told me I was on a wild goose chase. My mom and I disagreed. I just want to thank Dr. Fulkerson for being there for me when I really needed him. There are doctors and then there are doctors who care. He is in the second category. thank you!

My mother, a vulnerable patient, has suffered significant financial loss and emotional distress under her supervision. While Kendra was supposed to be assisting with housing applications and DSS redeterminations, she instead gained access to my mother's online accounts and changed the passwords, locking her out. During this time, over $400 in food stamp benefits were wiped out. When confronted with the missing funds and the fact that a promised housing application for West Hartford was never filed, Kendra became hostile and unprofessional. To matters worse, the local management (Darcy, Kendra's Supervisor and Joy the receptionist) has been dismissive of these serious fraud allegations, even attempting to "settle" the theft of $400 in essential benefits with a $50 gift card. A police report has been filed. If you have a loved one here, monitor their accounts closely and do not allow this individual access to sensitive passwords or personal identification documents. The way they change case managers and therapists here is like changing underwear. They are not stable for their clients and from what I have seen in other reviews, they don't take the mental health needs of the clients here seriously either. Better yet, find another facility, one who delivers proficient customer service, does not treat your mental health like a joke or just a paycheck for them, and one who won't continue to cancel your appointments last minute with a response time of up to 50 damn years.

However, since he retired I have been transferred to at least 4 different medical providers. I've had no complaints until recently because I usually only visit this office once a year. The current front desk staff(Marisol and the new heavy set one with a terrible attitude) always seem to be miserable. I dread calling the office because I know I will most likely be greeted rudely and made to feel as though I am a burden. Questions are not encouraged and when I've sought out further clarification the response I've received was one of annoyance. Any requests for a phone call with my provider have always been declined and my only option has been to schedule an appointment even if an appointment was not necessary. It seems that this practice is money driven and if they do not feel your medical concern is a priority, they make it very clear by their lack of patience with you. It's too bad that the lack of customer service and rude front desk staff who represent this practice have such a negative impact that one would walk away from 25 years of care for a new provider who is welcoming and attentive. Big difference! I hate to say it but I think the fact that this practice primarily serves patients from lower socio-economic backgrounds impacts the quality of care provided and the general attitude of superiority and disregard for patient care, which can be seen in their lack of respect for even basic human interaction. I also think that they are so used to treating patients with Husky insurance, that they are not sensitive to the financial needs of patients with co-payments and/or deductibles who might not be so eager to be seen when a solution may not require an office visit. Mona Chiurillo, APRN has been pleasant and helpful. She's definitely an asset. Also, her MA is always very kind, friendly and helpful. Unless you have no other choice, I wouldn't recommend this practice!

The pain got so bad I couldn't bend to put on socks or lift the mattress to make the bed. I had reviewed many local surgeons on line and settled on Dr. David Kruger in Bloomfield, Ct. Others have stated.he is a surgeon who will not jump at a chance to use his surgical skills and in my case, while he was reserved and serius about the possible outcomes of surgery, he was also quite confident he could help address my problem only after thorough review of my MRI. I too was not hoping for surgery but I had exhausted all other options and when Dr. Kruger showed me the arthritis affected bone pinching my nerve we agreed to surgery. Surgery went well, and Dr. Kruger performed an L3 and L4 laminotomy and foraminotomy. I had been worried about the recovery period, but all went much better than I could have imagined. I was home the same day of surgery and took one of the painkillers before bed. As the anesthetics wore off it was immediately apparent my pain was gone. I never needed additional pain killers and went to work the next day (I work at home so did not need to drive). Recovery was painless aside from some stiffness where the muscles were cut. Although I felt fine and thought I could return to playing tennis after a couple of weeks, the Dr. recommended I wait at least 6 weeks. I tried, but in the fifth week I played tennis on Friday, golf and tennis on Sunday. No pain, nor stiffness. Honestly, it hurt more to remove one of the staples than it did for the surgery, and this was an anomaly. I highly recommend Dr. Kruger as an honest surgeon whose main concern is working with the patient to find the best solution for their problem -- even if this does not include surgery. In retrospect, I am disappointed with the Dr. that had advised I get the cortisone shots (not Dr. Kruger, but the folks at Hartford Hospital) as it seemed the MRI presented ample evidence the shots would have no affect. Is is great to be pain free just in time for golf season and I am enjoying playing tennis multiple times per week. Thank you Dr. Kruger.
