I am surprised to read all these good reviews. Just to clear things up, Selvin had the wrong email address. The quote had been sent, but I didn't receive it. It was when the followup call by me did not provide any information that I questioned the service. This has been cleared up as an unfortunate misunderstanding. My wife and I have been very pleased with Selvin's Landscaping. We had them install a concrete patio/stamped concrete on the back of our house. They removed our old brick patio and rotted deck very quickly. His workers were efficient and did excellent work. The new patio is amazing... We are so glad that we used them to complete the work. We then had a crew come back and install some sod to make our patio look even better... And they did an excellent job! Selvin's Landscaping provided us with an exceptional service experience and delivered a masterpiece of an outdoor living area. Our project involved a complete redesign and build of landscaping and hardscape construction in our front and back yard: driveway, sidewalk, walkway, stairs, patio, outdoor kitchen and fireplace, retaining walls, pergolas, lighting, fence, plants and sod, as well as other seemingly unrelated tasks such as major tuckpointing of existing masonry, for example. Our project started with a very thorough consultation and a detailed budget. This was a refreshing change from our "consultations" with other well-known firms. Selvin addressed all questions and concerns in a promptly and friendly manner. He went through the entire permitting process with the City of Elmhurst (which is very rigorous), and all inspections passed without issues. The inspectors commented on the high quality of workmanship to us on more than one occasion. Selvin and Roger came up with amazing suggestions and solutions to make our project an absolute success. Selvin's team uncovered some issues caused by our homebuilder (water drainage from downspouts for example). Selvin brought them to our attention and promptly addressed. Selvin's team was professional, flexible and attentive to detail. They were very respectful, trustworthy and easy to work with. Selvin and his team made sure to provide us with an excellent customer experience and a beautiful, high-quality final product. They truly cared about us as their customers and made sure that we were completely satisfied. Terrible customer service. Guess they don't want new customers so don't bother contacting them if you're new. Called for a quote and couldn't even get a response back from them. I followed back up and again nothing. All you have to do is tell someone you don't have the man power or aren't interested but not responding back just speaks volumes of how you run your business. I found them through Angie's List. They were great in the beginning. Easy to schedule and I was able to text with the owner back and forth with was very convenient. However, he never gave me a time and showed up at 6:45am to start laying sod. I feel that this is a crazy time to start a project on a Saturday. I have neighbors. So because the work was well done. I used them for a fall clean up. They showed up a day earlier than scheduled. I had just finished a night shift and was going to bed. He calls me and said we will be there in 30 minutes. you cleaned up the yard right. (I have 2 dogs). No I hadn't because they were due the next day! Very rude and dismissive.
