We recently stayed at Grafengut for a friend's wedding, and it was fantastic.
The rooms are not "luxurious" - there is no AC, no TV, no mini fridge or mini bar, but the views of the lake are outstanding, and the staff is all great. There was wifi, but it was spotty in the new building where we stayed. It worked well in the breakfast room and in the main building, as well as in the room above the boathouse.
Breakfast was included, and was amazing - a great spread in the breakfast room of fresh juice (you can squeeze it yourself!), yogurt, cereals, fruits, cheese, meats, and loads of bread and tea. You could also order eggs and coffee from the staff, and everything was delicious.
The grounds are really lovely. The lake is gorgeous, and the hotel has a kayak and some standup paddle boards (foam ones, and kind of mismatched paddles) that you can borrow. There's also a paddle boat you can take out! And the room above the boathouse (where my friend stayed), is quite special and lovely, too. Even though we had some rainy times, the lake and setting was a great break!
Also - as a wedding venue, they seemed to be amazing. They helped set up so many details, were on top of all of the bits and pieces, and tirelessly helped my friend on her big day! From Pimm's cocktails to the photo booth to yummy dinner to dancing until 4am, Grafengut really went above and beyond. read more
