Came for golf, stayed for the snack bar…read more I came to Falls Road Golf Course to play golf -- and the golf is genuinely great. But the food might actually be the best part, and that's thanks to Angela, who is the best. The hot dogs? Best in town. The chicken and tuna salads? Angela makes them fresh every morning, from scratch, with love you can actually taste. The onion rings? Genuinely perfect. And a full meal runs you under ten bucks, which in Potomac feels like a clerical error in my favor. Here's the real scandal: this little snack bar is putting out better food than Congressional Country Club a few miles up the road. You'd think paying those dues for bar food this far below par would have the members storming out in protest -- but somehow not one of them has come out "disgruntled." Frankly, the lack of outrage is the most bipartisan thing to happen in this county all year. Honestly, just a sincere thank you to Angela, who puts her foot in it every single time without fail -- she's a gift, and so is the rest of the awesome staff.

There's a small parking lot in the front and trails that lead to an actual recreation center, fields and a playground that doubles as a splash park in the summer. My four-year-old daughter loved the playground. It's modeled after an Indigenous American village along the Potomac River with slides, etc. For being in a wealthy neighborhood, it's a little run down, but still a lot of fun. If you like quirky art, take the small dirt path to the right when facing the parking lot. Walk a few yards to a small opening in the forest to find the "Glass Forest" with art hanging on the trees. It's a little creepy, but also quirky!

There were lots around but no one was telling their kid to not throw pieces of the ground at people. My son was excited about the slide....until he was trampled while going down it by 4 kids (at least 8 years old so they should know better anyways) running up the slide. This hasn't ever been an issue before since caretakers are usually at least sort of watching their kids but nope not here. Overall the equipment was boring and the playground way beyond capacity, particularly during these times. Not a fan, won't be back.

The park itself has two playgrounds, tennis courts, restrooms, picnic tables and a trail that hugs the creek. Because of its location, it's a popular park for all people- families, runners, nature lovers. If you're hungry while at Rose Park, walk to nearby Stachowski's Market for a pastrami sandwich on rye bread that's two meals.

The last time however it seems they have been cleaned up since this. It has a trail along Rock Creek. It's popular with dog walkers and joggers. Watch so you don't step in waste.

This is not going to be a challenge to most players, but if you only have about 1.5 hrs or 2 to play, this will do the job. If you are a mediocre player you'll leave feeling like Tiger Woods. The bad: There are no par 5s and all of the holes play short even from the blue tees. The pro shop and restaurant could be much nicer. They've added soccer golf. I've only seen people play that once so probably a non-issue.

There are a bunch of playground sets (although they're the lame plastic kind, not the old school burn-your-hands-and-bum-in-the-summer-heat metal kind), two tennis courts that are in pretty great shape, a basketball court and a big field for sports, walking the dog, whatever. The grass in some parts is a little dilapidated, but it's probably for the same reason the Mall has dying grass; little kids running around on it all day will cause a lot of wear and tear. There's also a parking lot which is convenient, but it gets packed during "peak hours" (around noon and when schools get out it seems). No sketchy characters to be found at any hour!

I've seen dogs running on the dock and kids playing catch. There are personal items including clothing, shoes, and bottles left underfoot up and down the dock. The person answering the reservation line sounds totally out of it, like they are impaired. This business needs much better supervision. Hopefully new staff will correct things in the 2026 season.

I rented a stand up Paddleboard for an hour and had a blast! It was $24.50 after taxes for that hour. The Paddleboards are older but serve the purpose. The guys running the dock were nice but didn't really provide any tips for a rookie. There was a lot of traffic and , naturally, waves. I didn't feel comfortable enough to stand up (yup I'll own it) but I paddled from the boat house to memorial bridge and back. I'd recommend considering other modes of transport here (like kayak) if you're a less experienced paddle boarder like me, unless you want to fall into the Potomac.
