Worst company ever - recently lost a loved one a eight months ago after falling a claim I was told it may take a few months, which was fine, but it has been eight months and still there's no explanation nor answers given why it's taking so long every time I call I get the runaround from a receptionist no one give me any answers just saying that it's under review and sometimes when I call, I do not even speak with the representative. I am so glad I am now reading these reviews before committing to purchase this insurance. I spoke with an agent last night and everything I am reading in these reviews regarding the funeral, headstone purchase, and their assistance with everything appears to be a lie. after speaking with the agent last night, I told her to email me the information regarding the policies we discussed and that I wanted to check reviews and the company information. Guess what! I didn't receive the email and I also tried calling the number she provided for contact but the number would not connect it hung up after dialing. If I could give them a zero I would. The insurance agent was very confusing and misleading. When he realized I was a little educated on insurance he became intimidated and wanted to hang up on me. You may be covered on day one ,however you will not be paid or have your funeral covered if your policy is less than 2 years, before an intense investigation is done. You will have to provide a death certificate and maybe other documents from your doctor/doctors dating back to how ever long they say. Therefore you may or may not be paid depending on their findings but you will be covered. Who cares about you saying you will be covered on day one when you are not sure if you will get paid. Even if you are 100% Truthful on your application, they can still find something to not pay you if that policy is less than 2 years old. Please check the contestability on your policy and ask your agent to be clear on what you are purchasing. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably it. read more

I U.S. mailed a cancellation notice for 2 policies that I had with Senior Life. When I saw that they were still auto-drafting my account I researched how to cancel a different way. I e-mailed my cancellation the next time and requested a refund for the last auto-draft. I didn't receive a refund. I called and their response was "do I have proof that I U.S. mailed the request to cancel my policies". Their next response was since they received my e-mail 3 days after the auto-draft I wasn't entitled to a refund. If this is how they treat their customers, how will they treat our loved ones when they have to pay on a policy. I strongly suggest that you shop for a better company to purchase life insurance from. read more

This is an affordable, stable approach for Whole Life coverage for your final expenses whether you're healthy, or you're a smoker or have health issues that would result in your application being denied or would be very expensive with other insurance companies. This company specifically sells final expense protection. Your whole life insurance premiums are with you for life, and very importantly there are no rate increases or policy term endings at certain ages in the fine print as with most other "no medical exam required" policies offered by major competitors. As with most other companies you do need to have the policy in force for 2 years to collect the total face value. Claims are paid as promised when the death certificate is presented. If you haven't planned your final expenses in advance (like my parents) this company will literally be there to help you as you're arranging the funeral so you don't get ripped off in your most emotionally vulnerable moments. I don't know of any other company that does that and also pays out so quickly, and that's why I've recommended it to others. read more

As an agent one would think the Sr Life Company would treat you with respect and courtesy. NOT the BLAKE Group of Senior Life, No respect was given to me after a technical problem with my NY Life Insurance License was noticed. I applied to be a non-resident of florida agent with Senior Life and paid the fee $65 for Senior life and $63 for the state of FL. My NY License is valid but because I am Not currently with a Life Insurance Broker in NY my License was in a Inactive Status. (I had no idea that it had to be Active before applying to Florida). Now Senior life WILL NOT refund the $65. And their License department hung up on for asking for the money back. read more

If I could put zero stars, I would. My grandfather passed on 11/20/2020, I was unable to get in touch with the company to notify them on his death until Monday morning. Once I was about to speak with someone on the phone they continued to talk about benefits offered by the company such as purchasing a casket and a headstone. The insurance was not guaranteed as told to my grandfather. Because my grandfather passed before the 2 years of the policy, I was informed that a investigation needed to be conducted to ensure that my grandfather did not lie about his health conditions. "NOW, why would a 78 year old, retired teacher, lie about his health condition but documents all of the mediations he is taking (which was a lot), my grandfather was paying a 90 dollar a month policy because of his health." At the beginning of January 2021, I called to inquire about the status of the investigation and I was told that they were waiting for medical records. Same response for February 2021 and March 2021, still waiting for medical records. It's April 28, 2021, my family and I have paid for the total cost of the funeral and have not received a response from the insurance company about the claim. 5 months later, and I still haven't heard anything from Senior Life. I would not recommend Senior Life to no one. read more

I made a claim and we are still waiting after more than 3 months just to see if senior life insurance will pay the policy. What are we suppose to do put my mother inside a freezer. I'm a current manager with senior life insurance company for years. I recently lost my uncle due to COVID-19 had him in a preferred plan with senior life insurance company telling him it was a day one coverage as the training we had told us we don't have a 2year waiting period as term life insurance. After waiting 3 months after his death we didn't receive any check for his funeral because they had to contest the policy since he died before 2 years meaning it wasn't day 1 coverage as many agents and myself had told thousands of clients i felt like I was deceiving people telling them that legacy assurance will take care of everything and in reality I didn't have any support from the WISH team as they called it I was on my own to find a funeral home that will take him they called 2 places around my area and told me to leave him at the coroner until further notice because they couldn't find a place. And I'm a manager with them and I had no support or no help to find a funeral home for my uncle and I had to pay for most funeral expenses from my pocket because I felt responsible to take care of all expenses since I wrote him the policy. I just got a call from my other uncle who was the beneficiary telling me they sent him $900 instead of what the policy was written because my deceased uncle was supposedly not taking his medication doses properly. I explained to them he's illiterate doesn't know how to read and write. Don't get a policy with senior life insurance company thinking they'll take care of everything or thinking you have day 1 coverage because you don't. They will just return your money that you paid to your family months later after you pass away. Now that I experience those things after my uncles death I will recommend everyone to a company with no waiting period don't believe the agents or managers. There is something very wrong with this insurance company. The agent I dealt with was shady as hell. Money was taken from my checking account and an agency called Legacy Assurance, also takes an extra fee without your permission or perhaps unknowingly. I had got this place to handle my insurance and the agent came out and he was nice,and the main agent was nice,pushy but nice,in order to make money you got to work and I see that for these 2 people.I got a call from main office in Ga. This company may be a sham. Agent Andrew Davis came to my home in Las Vegas, NV. on June 5, 2019. He offered me a policy for $54.00 a month and told me that I saved $3.00 by giving him a check now, I find out that yes he took the $54.00 but also the three that he said I saved. He told me that he had worked for this company for seven years and had a brother who worked for the company for 15 years, (only to find out that he was fairly new to the company); no waiting period, (policy no good for at least 3 years and you only get what you paid in); I asked him if I die tomorrow would the policy pay the full amount, yes he stated ( also not true); instant 100% refund on what you paid in, all you have to do is call him ( not true at all); can' get him on telephone because his voicemail is full, (sent him a text, he is not responding); refund will take at least 30 days ( if I send a letter to cancel); had to look up Company address ( not on his card); he also informed me if I needed to borrow money from this policy I could do just that; so many other questions I asked him that he was not truthful about. I am not sure if this company is real or not. The bad reviews are more accurate than anything.I just want my $57.00 back as quick as I can get it. read more
