We arrived 3 minutes after opening, and after waiting 1 hour and half to get our orders, we've been finally told that our dishes would take 20 minutes longer to be ready... Of course, we decided to leave, paid our drinks and were "escorted" very aggressively by a waitress and the manager... Will never come back. Edit: Seriously, question to the Germans: Is it normal to have to wait 1h45 for your food on a sunday lunch? Or does that happen , "by chance", only to the table of foreigners at the back of the room... I can't believe the reviews considering how disrespectfully we were treated...

Then our pension hostess recommended Kajute and it was perfect. We took notice of only the simplest part of the menu, but it was excellent. Apart from the obvious -- sausages in various combinations -- a really good bet there is the "Eintopf," a huge bowl of soup that contains pretty much everything; it's not a stew but a real soup; delicious and satisfying. A half liter of Detmolder Landbier tops off any good meal, and they have it on tap. The gentleman who might be the proprietor has enough good English to serve you.

It was fine. Even lazy management can't destroy that one thing that saves a German dining experience but that will give you only one star.

The turkey was drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The pasta had an Alfredo style sauce on it. The two mixed very well. If was a great dish. The negative part, one of the chunks of turkey was not cooked fully. The latte macchiato was nice, and for once my nephew stayed away from the wine and got himself a sprite. The inside was comfortable, and like most places, it seems, in euro there was outside seating. No dessert this time.
