Its intimate, crypt-like layout is sumptuously decorated, thanks to a remodelling overhaul following the close of (the first) Sodabar. The DJs spin a mix of classic funk, house and disco (yay!), coercing even the shyest of wallflowers to get up and dance their drink off (if not, you can always unwind in the one of the several strategically-placed couches and seats peppered about). (The sort of men who migrate from the valleys in a cloud of lynx body spray and rock hard hair gel looking for a orange wench to pull) Instead you'll find the more mature lady grooving 'family wedding style' to whatever live act is performing that weekend. Good for: The Rugby/Dancing when you're drunk. Bad for: Fans of more hardcore musical genres.

Part of Mischief's charm stems from its location on the periphery of the glossy and overflowing Mermaid Quay bars and restaurants. I've only been here during the day, so I'm not privy to the hi-jinks that occur here once the sun goes down, but it seems to me Mischief's is the neighbourhood bar and cafe for the locals, not the tourists. It's like Cheers, but with the classic, irreverent British sensibilities. The staff here strike the ideal balance of friendly and cheeky, which is something I've come to appreciate and take note of wherever I go. I'm curious to see what night brings out in Mischief's - I bet it's quite naught indeed.

At last check the food wasn't particularly fantastic, although this was a while ago so I imagine it's changed since then. The atmosphere inside can be a little bit on the cold side, this isn't a spot for friendly drunken conversations. The decor is fine, the drinks are all right priced, there just seems to be a little something missing from this place. It's tasteful enough but I can't see how it would ever be anyone's favourite bar as everything it does well, somewhere else does it better.

As a diehard fan of Reggae and Ska, I love to come here to listen to some golden oldies or so hear something new. The friendly, happy staff work incredibly hard to serve you quickly and keep you happy. The Park has a real party atmosphere, where you'll never know who you'll meet, but you're guaranteed to be talking to a stranger by the end of the night. Sometimes a victim of its own success, The Park can get a little crowded at the weekend but Fridays and Saturdays are definitely the best night to go.

Some might say this is a classier crowd with a bit more cash to splash or simply with better, more expensive tastes. But it's mostly cool people who like to go out to bars, drink a lot of good booze in a tasteful place. This is a great bar to meet new people, due to the great atmosphere The Park has created it doesn't feel strange to strike up a conversation with a stranger here, and you can't say that about everywhere (especially in the UK).
