And besides that, the shop itself is sharp with its teak display cases, wall of vintage mirrors and vintage Scandinavian couch. In a word: hip. I don't wear glasses and already have a pair of sunglasses that I worship but for my husband's birthday this year he asked for his first pair of sunglasses ever. We actually wound up here by convenience sake only. We had only two hours to shop for his present before the little ones needed to get fed/napped/changed and this was the first shop we went to while heading towards Republique. And it was the last because he found the absolute coolest pair of sunglasses on earth here after trying on a half dozen pair. The glasses were a bit of a splurge at 200E but they are unbelievably beautiful and they make him feel like a million bucks, so well worth it!
Horrific customer service experience buying prescription glasses on multiple levels…read more I spent over $767 US on one pair of progressive lens and frames. They took over a month to be shipped to me, we're in a damaged box and tossed into the middle of the driveway by Fed Ex (who sends $800 worth of glasses with no signature required?). Worst of all the lens are totally wrong and unwearable. All for $767! I was totally scammed. Especially since the Jimmy Fairly website clearly states that prescription lenses are complimentary. The 'customer service' WhatsApp line has been dismissive and provided zero help as the only solution they offered was for me to stop by when in Paris next. I enailed 'wecare@jimmyfairly.com' and haven't heard back. I now have to spend an additional several hindered dollars with my local LA optometrist to get proper lenses made.

The TSO technician told me about 15-20 years ago (can't remember how long ago really) that AV's son had come into this TSO store all disheveled from traveling about door to door all day pursuing businesses. The original doctor of this TSO location (since retired) loved the frames and said yes! Some background info told to me by my eye tech... The son told the doctor how the Valentin frames came about being made by his father; who I shall refer to as the creative genius of artsy frames!!! It was because his wife wasn't satisfied and didn't like any of the eyeglass frames being sold in Paris at the time...so Mr. Valentin (genius mastermind and engineer I think) got to work. But, because his frames were so unique and out of the box...made out of resin for instance...the son had a hard time getting eye doctors to agree to display and sell them. And so because this TSO doctor on a small Texas island near the Gulf of Mexico ocean...in Galveston said YES...I have a fabulous pair of specticals that I adore! Shop TSO! This location has the best selection of frames I've ever seen.

I went in today hoping to look at and maybe purchase a pair or two of new French made eyeglass frames. The owner and his wife were super friendly and showed me a few styles of frames. They told me that the pairs I was looking at were handmade in their basement and one of a kind designs that the wife, Claudine designed and the husband, Jack made. He then offered me a special discount if I purchased more than one pair. At the end, I paid $700 Euro for 2 pair (see attached pics). Before leaving, they had asked me to write a review of my great experience and had me scan a QR code to write a review, which I did. After writing the review, I read some of the other reviews and noticed one person said he had been lied to by this shop when they told him they had hand made his frame as well. That prompted me to look closer at my purchases, all to find out neither of mine were hand made and were in fact a brand from Italy and another from somewhere else in France. Additionally, the pair I paid over 300 Euro for, were available by the real manufacturer, Unseen Eyewear, for 159,00 euro. This was such as shame as had they just been honest, I probably would have still purchased them, or at least one of them. Instead, they are dishonest and left me with the need to share my experience with other potential customers. Buyer beware!!

Haffmans & Neumeister frames are incredibly difficult to find in the USA--practically impossible in California. Prices at Lunigal were unbeatable--every time I look at my new frames I feel a sense of satisfaction because I got them trouble-free for such a fantastic price. And now I have an awesome douchy brag when people ask me where I got my glasses, "Um, Paris. Yeah--Paris." Lunigal's online selection is also unique and eclectic. I doubt I will come across any locals in the San Francisco Bay Area that will have these frames--not only because they're rare here, but the Bay Area sense of style has become absolute MERDE since tech took over and stripped the area of its soul. But that's another story--I live to fight another day in savagely elegant style. Anyway, my frames were shipped immediately (pleasant surprise) and they reached California in a reasonable time, neatly packaged with a "merci" card and cleaning cloth inside. I could not be happier. Merci back at ya Lunigal Opticiens! *kiss-kiss on both cheeks*

At random, I walked into Craft, and I feel like this was an incredibly lucky break. Craft has a very interesting set of eyeglass frames, but what set Craft apart was the woman who helped me. She quickly tried a couple pairs on me and asked what I thought (too round, too big, whatever...). She tilted her head to the side and peered at my head for a moment, then disappeared into the back for about five minutes. When she emerged, she had four pairs of frames, and I liked every single one! I walked out with one of these frames (love it), but I would have been happy with any one of them, really. She really has a gift. This was a wildly different experience from most eyeglass shopping expeditions with a clerk randomly throwing crap on my face, 'do you like this? How about this one? Ooooh, they all look so good, but whatever you are comfortable with' whatever that means. I'm thinking that eyeglass refreshing at Craft Paris could be a regular routine for moi.
