There are "long" and "short" routes through the site, but even the long route is an easy walk for any reasonably fit person and shouldn't take more than an hour. The entire village is composed of the red rock, making it a worthwhile stop if village-hopping through the Luberon, but unless you are already planning a day in Roussillon, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the quarry.

It's a pretty interesting place. All shades of ochre, yellow, orange, reds. Surreal landscape, dunes and geological formations that make you think you're on Mars. (Or in Colorado.) There are several trails to take, and it just fun to wander around and get dirty.
