Sometimes some are hiding. When we visited, one cat was sick and there was a total of 6 cats. Some were as young as 7 months old and oldest was 5 years and 3 months. This place is run by the meow foundation and visitors can adopt a cat by filling in an application online. There are staff present at all times to ensure visitors to the cat room follow the rules. There is waiver they ask you to sign before entering cat room. Children under 11 need to be accompanied by an adult. It's $14 per person (for 30 minutes). They have various cat items and toys for sale.

We had a little time to kill, and my family loves cats (and we were missing ours on our vacation)…read moreso we made this a surprise stop. You book in 30 minute increments, and we lucked out and got a spot walking in within an hour. We walked down to the nearby bookstore (Pages - which has a resident cat!) to kill time (and spend money) and headed back at our time. The volunteer in the space was so friendly, and the cats, while they were ALL asleep, were so cute and so accommodating to our skritches. The space has helped over 1,500 cats get adopted, which is so incredible, and while there is a charge to go in with the cats, it is worth it as it supports the shelter the cats come from. The staff at check out were so nice as well. It was a great experience, and we'd all go back in a heartbeat if we lived in Calgary.

There's plenty of seating, and they were able to accommodate our group of 6. I liked that there were so many unique dish options on the menu. My husband and I got the so 'soft crab benny and omurice. To be honest, the omurice was one of the best ones I've ever had. It was so flavorful and when you cut into it, it has the perfect texture to it. If you like soft-shelled crabs, there were a lot of dishes with it. Since it was still breakfast time, I wanted to go for the eggs Benedict with the soft-shelled crab. Service here was fantastic! Our server was very friendly and checked up on us often. I absolutely loved the vibes of this restaurant.

How did we miss it! Kris had the Fried Crab Meat Scramble. Linda had the Brou-ssam. And I had the Mushroom and Truffle Festival. All were exceptionally good (we agreed) and very unique. One interesting feature was the cook's ability to custom-cook the scrambled eggs accompanying the dishes. You had a choice of soft, medium or hard. We all went for soft, and the cook's skill was evident. I can't recommend this delightful little restaurant highly enough. The food was superb, service was perfect, coffee was excellent, and the price was perfectly fine. Parking at 14th and 5th is what it is, but plenty of Calgary city parking (mobile pay only) available in the building. We all loved this place and will definitely be back.
