They had a new fragrance mist line that we tested and became obsessed with. I thought of buying it on the spot but wanted to see how long the scent stays on you. All of the employees are so kind and helpful every time I come in. It's always easy to get help from an employee as well as good recommendations. Today, the store was especially helpful in accommodating me with a beauty service appointment I had. They had to do some rearranging but eventually they were able to accommodate me without having to cancel me and it was very appreciated. Giselle R ended up being my makeup artists and she was amazing. My husband was blown away when I came home and we both agree his was probably the best my make up has ever looked! Literally all the employees at this store are INCREDIBLE! I walked in trying to find some natural deodorant. I was torn between Dona Karen and salt and stone. Best experience ever haha! All the girls working gave their opinions and we had a nice discussion about the pros/cons of each. They were all soooo friendly and approachable. We finally decided to go with sol de janeiro because most of them had good experiences with that deodorant. This was the coolest experience at Sephora ever. I interacted with 5 of the staff in my 30 min visit--2 of the staff at the door greeting and weighing in on a product I needed help with. 1 person consulting my friend and I on another product. And then the two cashiers impressed me the most. It's the Thursday before Christmas and a super busy long line, but one cashier paused between customers and calmly assist me before moving on to the next person in line. Perhaps it's the vibe that the staff cultivated but I was impressed that the mood was so relaxed even though it was super busy. Excellent management and team work! Thank you! read more

I was wary going into the service just because I've had negative experiences before and she was so wonderful. Finally popped my Sephora cherry going to this location near my home. Location/ambiance: Located in the 'One Paseo' shopping center near restaurants and other businesses walking distance. Parking structure and outdoor parking (limited) are available. This Sephora was open and bright like the other locations I'm familiar with. The aisles were well-stocked, clean, and maintained. It was rather smaller, but I didn't mind because I get overwhelmed with more selections. Sadly, I wasn't able to find the products I wanted. I usually order online anyways. Customer service: I usually dislike having employees breathe over my shoulder every five minutes, but the staff here were friendly and respectful. One even complimented my outfit. I was greeted upon arriving and departing. You can also order online and pick it up at the store if that is more convenient. They are very accommodating. It was a quick stop since I was in the area. I'd definitely swing by again, but please carry more of the "Benefit" products. read more

Unfortunately, just popped in at five minutes before eight not realizing what time it was (wanted to pick up a quick powder after dinner) and as I was walking through the door before I could even open my mouth to ask for the powder, a young woman made it quite clear that they were closing in five minutes... No "What would you like?" Or "How can we help?" nothing... I suppose if you were that anxious to leave, one should not admit customers 10 minutes prior to closing... I guess I'll order my powder from someone else online ? I spent 20+ years in retail, and while I completely understand how exhausting it can be after a long day... That one last sale might have sent them over their goal? Everyone has their own experiences, and I get that, but why need to mention you're a VIB or "the highest level of customer" when giving a bad review for a location? Workers don't know this. It's a weird flex, but I digress. The location in my opinion is an awesome place. Stephanie has always been so helpful whenever I have been here, and she really takes the time to help out. The only reason I gave this store a four is because it seems kind of cluttered in here, and yes I know it's a smaller store compared to other ones. Just had to run into Sephora between makeup clients in need of brush cleaner. Billy greeted me immediately as I walked in the door. I was frantically searching the store for Cinema Secrets brush cleaner. He saw me walk back towards the front of the store looking through the Sephora brand brush area and asked me if he could help me find something. I told him what I was looking for, he was able to quickly tell me the store had it in stock. I asked him if I should just get in line to be rung up. He told me not to worry that he would ring me up at the front of the store without having to wait in line. All while this is happening he greeted every other customer entering and leaving the store. A mom came in looking for dance makeup and he effortlessly managed to direct her to an artist all while helping me at the same time. I know the holidays are a busy time and things can be chaotic. I appreciate Billy's kind demeanor and going above and beyond to assist me in a timely manner. read more

This location feels smaller than the rest. Everything is a bit more cramped together and not as easy to find. That being said, the staff here is great. They are always welcoming and cheerful. I've been here twice now and never felt pushed to buy whatever product. They let us sample as much as we wanted. We re visited yesterday after lunch at North Italia. Friend wanted to buy a few things. Rosy, who saw me browsing Dry Bar brushes (which is so odd as they share the mall with an actual Dry Bar nearby), was so helpful. We spoke about brushes and she then helped me and friend sample perfumes. I know which perfume I'm getting next time I visit thanks to Rosy. Paying was easy. There wasn't a line and the cashier was super helpful. Our to-go container leaked so they were nice enough to give us two extra sephora bags so we could place the food in there. Again the staff here was top notch and made our shopping experience easy and fun. read more

Everything was great until the point of having to check out. I went back and asked the person ringing me up (description: pink eyelashes, tall, blonde, and wearing a pin that says "it's okay to be sensitive" on her Fanny pack) if she could reprint the receipt for me since I didn't receive it on my email. She was really rude, condescending, and didn't have an appropriate approach to customer service. It's such a shame especially since everyone is always so helpful at this location. I hope this woman has Better days, because she clearly isn't trained to work with others especially customers. read more

This Sephora just opened in mid-June, 2019, in the One Paseo Shopping Center. We were pleasantly greeted when we walked in and I was asked if I was looking for anything specific. I was planning to buy Sephora's brand of the hugely popular 'Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover' and told the associate that was what I needed. I had already looked and saw the smaller size on the shelf, and know buying the larger size saves you money. The associate showed me they had only the small size, and when I told her I really needed the larger one, she got flustered. She wasn't sure what they even carried. She searched the drawer beneath the display, then turned to another associate to ask if they carried the larger size and was told, "No". Not her fault. But. At this point, after I told her "thank you anyway", her tone suddenly changed to coldness. At which point I was no longer even interested in browsing. The shop is extremely small. I thought it was a pop-up store when we walked in. It was disappointing to walk into a Sephora that's known as a huge success in many other locations around the country, only to discover their selection is limited. Keep in mind this product is their flagship makeup remover Sephora brand, and she didn't even know the product line. I was kind of put off. I'm used to working with highly knowledgeable professionals at Sephora who at the very least know the Sephora line. Sephora carries many other cosmetic brands besides their own name brand. This is why everyone buys their cosmetics, skin care products and perfumes at Sephora; they carry every brand under the sun. I hope this store considers carrying more of their own Sephora brands in the best-selling sizes in the future. read more

They are so nice here! I've been buying online all year and it was very nice to come in and be able to see and try and colors! Easy return of a color I bought online that was wrong. And Arlene, who is awesome, helped me check out the Tarte foundations I'd been eyeing online. This store is really the worst. There are so many people working that there actually isn't room for shoppers. I am the highest level of customer at Sephora and I like to pop in the stores and see where the wind takes me while I'm shopping. Well the wind blows you into about 100 employees in a very small space! Each aisle had 2-3 employees standing on it. There literally isn't room for you to walk. I also don't want help when I am shopping, I want to browse, explore new products and take my time. They won't leave you alone I recommend only having a few employees around to be able to answer questions. 2 stationed on each aisle is overkill especially when the aisles are only wide enough for 1-2 shoppers at a time! What a turn off to walk into a store have have 10+ employees staring blankly at you lol read more

Fantastic staff, friendly, skilled and helpful. It was a breeze to pop in for a little touch up and dash out with my favorite bronzer and a bag full of samples. Yes it's smaller than Fashion Valley but bigger is not always better no matter what Lizzo says. I like that this place isn't a busy mess like the ones farther south. But the customer service here is weird and kinda sucks. I was asked if I needed anything by probably 7 people in 5 minutes. I just wanted to look around and be left alone and I understand wanting to be helpful, but holy crap I felt attacked. This over-friendliness ends when a worker who is helping someone needs something and either shoved past you without saying excuse me or pushes you out of the way to grab something for someone else. It's such an insincere helpfulness here. They desperately need retraining on how to just be courteous. Both times I've gone, in the span of max 10 minutes I've been shoved aside or trampled over twice. And both times I was bugged incessantly. It's just bizarre. read more

I love the Free makeup sessions. They will do our eyes, foundation, cheeks, whatever. Of course you should purchase something, that's their goal right? They have a lot to offer just not as much as UTC. But it is filled with a lot of great girls. The register is a joke, lots f training and the few times I have been here, it has taken forever. I was so excited when they opened one and I didn't have to drive 15 min to find a Sephora and deal with mall parking. This little gem is situated perfectly. I went in this past weekend to check it out. I was looking for my makeup and I couldn't find it. Kept looking and looking, passed 3-4 Sephora reps and nobody gave me a 2nd look nor did they ask if I needed help. I was 3/4 into the store. NADA. As I turned, one associate must have seen the puzzled look on my face and asked if I found what I needed. FINALLY!!! ONE PERSON SAID HELLO!!!! I've worked in retail for many years, I get it. But seriously, if you're having a "sesh" don't do it in the middle of the store and ignore clients. I've been a customer of Sephora's for years and years and find them a bit obtrusive, always greeting me and asking me if I need help, so imagine when I felt ignored here. I'm going to brush this incident off and go back again. If I feel it was a one-off I will definitely update my rating. For now....pay attention. read more

Was super excited a Sephora nearby finally opened up and that I wouldn't have to drive min 20 min just to get to one. I work nearby and have been here at least 3 times to browse or buy something specific and each time no one haa ever tried to help me. Even when I look to try to flag someone down. The one time I did manage to find someone they said they'd be right back to help and I just left after standing there for 10 min. I usually pop into the store around 4 or 5 and there's maybe 1 or 2 other people shopping in there so it's not like it's crazy busy or anything. I've also come in a few times to do a return or exhange, and the 2 stars are for the cahsiers who are always really friendly and fast. If you need to do a quick return this store will do. While this location looks smaller than my usual spot in Fashion Valley, for a Sunday afternoon, it was less crowded. As a result, I was able to get helped really quickly. I was looking for a bronzer and with the multitude of choices, I needed help. Someone came to help. Then she asked two other girls for advice. At this point I had 3 people helping me find an answer to my question! Super! A friendly colorist narrowed down the choices to two. She provided me with a quick tutorial on where to apply the bronzer on my face. I like comparing both and made a choice. Literally the WORST Sephora in the history of Sephora's. I'm a VIB and have spent more than I care to admit on the Sephora franchise. But not ONCE has a salesperson proactively tried to assist. And I literally have found what I'm looking for 1 time at this location. Each time I ask, it's: no we're a small store so we don't carry that. Okay fine. Let's look at alternatives, right? The ignorance of the staff here about the products they sell in their own store is astounding. Honestly it's a liability. The manager here needs to STEP UP the customer service and training. Initially excited to have a Sephora so close by. Will be going elsewhere in the future. Constantly out of stock, limited selection to begin with, and customer service is not good. Recently went in, was in there for 10-15 min without a single employee offering to help me. No biggie, found the product I wanted on my own but couldn't find the color I needed. After awkwardly looking around for a few minutes trying to catch someone's eye for help finding the color, I checked the drawer myself to see if they had it in stock. Immediately an employee came over and in quite a condescending tone told me drawers were for employees only. She continued to shoot me several dirty looks until I left. It was quite the uncomfortable experience---if staff isn't helping customers, then no need to be so rude for us trying to assist ourselves in buying a product from YOUR store. When i informed the girl at checkout, I got a half hearted "sorry about that" with not even a question as to who the employee was or an offer to help locate the item. Bye! Yesterday, I came to this One Paseo location for the second time to get my makeup done (full face service w/lashes). Both times Veyra did my makeup and she absolutely killed it !! I received so many compliments both times on my makeup and it photographed so well for photos. She has more than exceeded my expectations and I just fell in love with the look she gave me both times. She is a gem and very sweet. Prior to coming to the One Paseo location, I was going to the Fashion Valley store. My only regret is not coming here sooner for makeup services. I will be referring my family and friends here as well. Looking forward to my next appointment and I love the new online feature where I can request which makeup artist I want. read more

I absolutely love this location. I live in between the "Sephora in JC Penney" in Carlsbad and Escondido. I was excited when a "real" Sephora opened up 10 minutes away from my work. This store is great! Open, bright, clean, well organized and well stocked. The employees here are by far some of the nicest Sephora employees I have ever encountered. The last time I was there I was looking for a perfect nude lip and the perfect ABH brow pomade and gel color. One of the girls was excited about what I was looking for and helped point me in the right direction. I was trying multiple ABH colors at one of their makeover stations (it was later at night, no one was getting a makeover). One of the guys was really nice, picked out the right color for me and even let me borrow his brush to get a better idea of how the product would work. I liked the brush so much I ended up buying it. One very rude employee with a heavy accent, follows you around everywhere, can't be left alone. She got very mad when I asked for help and couldn't understand what she was saying. She started yelling at me speaking slowly and made faces afterward. All employees overall were not helpful. Can't believe you have hire such weird employees to upset customers. Been wanting to switch foundations for a WHILE now & have tried almost every foundation under the sun! Being a girl who doesn't know a ton about makeup, I came in with a lot of questions & needing some assistance. Miso was AMAZING!!! She immediately greeted me & asked me all the right questions to determine which foundation would be perfect for my skin. She got a coworker - David (also super great) to help me get perfectly color matched (finally ). I'm so pleased with my new foundation & Miso even helped me purchase a few other new items to add to my skincare routine. Love the new Sephora but the customer service today was impeccable!
