Although this isnt the biggest Sephora they still have a pretty substantial offering of all the major brands Sephora offers. The staff is great and I feel like they are exceeding expectations in regards to cleanliness. They have staff greeting you at the door to go over their new protocols. sanitizer is offered, everyone is masked they also require masks and are diligently monitoring the number of shoppers allowed inside. At checkout they are sanitizing the whole touch point area after each customer. I will be back to say the least, they make you feel very comfortable and also make themselves available to help you with your product needs. read more

I walked in for one item. I walked around the whole store looking for the Make Up Forever" section until I found it. The store wasn't even busy and I looked for someone to assist me with finding another foundation similar to the one I currently wear and literally not one associate offered to help. Placed an order for pickup and 4 hours had passed without an email that is was ready. So naturally I call and ask if it's ready thinking that it could be I just didn't get the email but it probably was ready. I tell the employee this and she does not tell me if it's ready or not and says "well we are busy" I asked nicely. everyone here has a bad attitude. Cancelled the order. there is no reason it should take 4 hours and if it is at least tell me if it's ready? This location is the rudest Sephora i have ever been to. I've been here about 3 times now because it's not as crowded and you don't have to walk inside the mall as oppose to south coast. But the three times I was here, the beauty advisors have been all VERY rude. Unwilling to help, and made me wait forever to get helped. One time I was told I'll be helped in a second and then I got ditched by the advisor lol she was no where to be found. I went to another advisor and she told me go wait by the product while she was doing god knows what and then after she was done doing her stuff she helped someone else first before me. That person may or may not have asked before me, I'll never know. One time I was returning and the manager asked me where is your box? And then made a very loud disapproving head shake and sigh that I didn't have the box. I spend a lot of money at Sephora, a few returns should be expected. I've been Rouge member for yrs now and everytime I walk in is avg $500 buy. My home Sephora store is south coast, I've also lived in Pennsylvania for 4yrs so went to kop Sephora a lot. Both treated me very well and of course got me to buy a lot of stuff I dont need but hey I'm happy to. Tustin is really something else. I really don't need the attitude. And I have really spent a lottt less at this location because they are rude and no one to sell me anything haha so I will not buy much here. Everytime I walk in I walk out pissed off. So I will continue to make my returns at Tustin Bc it's convenient. But I'll be purchasing on my Sephora app. It also seems like they are much nicer to customers that appear older and dress like they would spend a lot of money there. Wow. The employees here are garbage. I was having difficulty booking an appointment online and figured I would just give them a call instead. I don't remember who I spoke to, but I can tell you she was a c u next tuesday. Her tone was so rude and condescending. I just wanted to see if she was able to book something because I thought the website was glitching. She refused to help and continued to tell me to use the website. This is a huge difference from the customer service at the Aliso Viejo location. Management would be wise to read these reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one disappointed by my visit. I needed a refill on makeup, but did not want to go to the mall after working all day. I excitedly remembered that the new Sephora was across the street. I kind of knew what I wanted to get, but still needed some help. I walked in the door and was refreshed to be instantly greeted by three staff standing at the door. Unfortunately, instead of offering assistance, they went right back to their conversation and texting (Yes, texting. No, I'm not kidding). The store was fairly busy, but unlike other Sephoras I've been to, no one was walking the floor or paying attention to customers. I'm used to having to constantly smile and say "I'm doing good, thank you for asking!" as various staff check on customers regularly. Finally one lady broke from the chatty trio in the front and started walking towards me. I knew Sephora wouldn't let me down...aaaaand she just kept walking right past me, no eye contact. She asks one or two (out of 15 or 20) customers if everything is going okay and then settles back in to chat with her trio at the door. I left at that point...empty handed and unsure if or when I will head back. Stick to other Sephoras. They typically value their customers and are actually willing to help you. read more

However, now it's EXCELLENT customer service (there is always someone willing to help and knowledgeable about the products) but a little lacking on the artists. However, for quick runs for makeup, it's a great location for those of us who don't want to haul over to South Coast. I asked her about my skin and she said it needed moisture and explained what products help that. She showed me the difference in textures for a water based vs non water based cream. Don't even think about being curious about new products or asking for a sample because they are very stingy and say they can't make one, this is the only location that has given me problems for every visit. Went in today looking for a good liquid liner. As I was looking I was approached by Kat (hope that's the correct spelling). Anyways, she gave me a few recommendations...the liner she recommended is now my new fave! She also helped me find a good pencil for my eyebrows. We had a good talk which led to her color matching me for a Lancome foundation. She took her time, was friendly and very knowledgable. Outstanding customer service! Thank you Kat! I have been coming to sephora for a couple years for my cologne. Today I wanted a fresh new smell. My usual is bleu de Chanel , it's amazing by the way. Rosa came up too me while I was smelling new scents and kindly asked if I needed some assistance. I did have my mask down to smell and she stayed a comfortable distance away. I put my mask back around my nose and began to talk with her about what smells I like, and of course which ones my wife likes. She pointed too dior sauvage and I was sold!. Guys are easy most of the time. I'm not. I didn't get too thank her for all the help since it is crazy busy with this Covid 19 precautions. So that's why I'm here saying thank you. I was so excited when I heard we were getting a Sephora at the marketplace. It's close to my home and I figured it would make things so much easier. Unfortunately, the only time it's been a positive experience was when they had their grand opening and were fully stocked. That day, I ran in, got the products I needed and left. Since then, the three times I have stopped in to buy either my Hourglass serum or primer, they have either been completely out of stock, or didn't have the stock on the floor. They usually have a million sales associates walking the floor, but yesterday when I actually needed help, I couldn't find anyone, so I asked the girl who greeted me at the door if she could help me with the Hourglass travel serum that was no where to be found on the selling floor, and it was like she couldn't be bothered. She told me to go look up in the travel area by the registers (I already had!) and then said they didn't have it then. She didn't move from her post, walk to the display to look in the draws and didn't try to pull inventory from the computer. When I said thanks and went to leave, then she said they could order it online for me. I told her I would go to a different location. Obviously this item retails if it is never in stock. This store needs to manage their inventory better and the greeter from Saturday afternoon needs some customer service training. I'll probably be back, but only because of the location. Hopefully the service at the Spectrum location will be better once that location opens. read more

I came into this Sephora a few weeks ago to pick up some makeup and needed to get shade matched for a concealer. I asked a beauty advisor on the floor for help, and she went ahead and swatched the concealer on her bare hands, then proceeded to use a dirty makeup brush to apply it onto my skin, focusing the application under my eyes. I quickly realized how unsanitary and unprofessional that was but was in a rush and unfortunately did not report it on the spot. The following day I woke up with my left eye completely swollen shut and filled with crust/puss. I called the store that same morning and let them know of the incident. They checked their camera footage, confirmed the incident, then reported it but never got back to me. Three weeks after this happened, I went in person and asked them if they had an update on my case. They said it was out of their hands because the beauty advisor who helped me was a brand rep. I found this so concerning since this happened IN their store but they denied any fault. Their management did minimal effort to help me, and all I was left with was a pink eye infection, missed days of school and work, and out-of-pocket medical costs. read more

Employee running the outside check-in for covid curbside services was short and brisk. I didn't know we couldn't even go into the store anymore so when she said it, I didn't quite get it and asked for clarification. She rattled off a condescending, "due to the stage of the pandemic..." blah blah blah. Yes I know it's a pandemic... it's now January of 2021. But hardly any retail is not even allowing people to come shop in store right now. Unless you know exactly what you want, it's an odd system. But I understand they have to take extra precautions being a makeup store. Still, have your best customer service employee running the check-in who can explain it nicely. Watch out for the scam when entering that you won $100. They advised me to play this game and then told me I was the winner and no one had won since they re-opened. Keep checking my email for the $100 voucher. Meanwhile I am shopping and buying stuff with my free $100. Well I go to check out and they tell me oh well check your email. We did repeatedly and nada thing showed up. Oh sorry they tell me they can't do anything about it I can buy the stuff or not. Also offered me a few samples as a consolation because i didn't win $100 even though they told me I did. What a drag and buzz kill on the shopping experience. It takes a lot for me to write a review, good or bad, but my experience at this location was above and beyond any service I've ever received at other Sephoras and it was because of ALEENA! I'd just driven 7 hrs from the Bay Area to see my boyfriend who just got back from deployment (he's in the marines) & I was an anxious WRECK! I had 30 mins to spare before seeing him & was going to do my makeup so that I could have a fresh face but lo and behold, I forget my foundation & lemme tell you, after driving 7 hrs, my skin was NOT looking cute! So I pull up, head straight to Fenty & of course they're out of the 2 shades that matched me & my oily skin. So I'm in a panic trying to work the foundation matching machine when Aleena approached me and (was the first & only) offered help. I told her my situation & she instantly wanted to do more than just send me off with a tube of semi matching foundation. She took her time to listen to what I needed & did my FULL face! And SHE. DID. THAT! She was genuinely so excited for me & wanted my reunion to be special & the confidence she gave me through my makeup did just that. When my boyfriend saw me, the first thing he said was I looked gorgeous! I'm just so grateful to have been serviced by Aleena. There's nothing like finding someone real, attentive, and genuinely wants to help a girl out without a second thought. I was a manager at Nordstrom for several years & service like hers is very, very hard to come by, especially from the notoriously intimidating setting of a cosmetics retailer. First, they have been out of a specific product for over a month, each time I stop by I ask and am always told "our shipments come on Tuesday, but we don't know what we're going to get", uhhhh ok...wouldn't it be helpful if they knew? Love that they brought a Sephora to the marketplace!!! The location is perfect but the parking lot can get pretty full and packed when you go during busy times like weekday lunch. So far everyone has been super nice and helpful-- I haven't run into any customer service issues. Horrible service. Although the gal that assisted me was very nice however the return policy is incredibly ridiculous. And the only reason I say this is due to the fact that we have been living in a Covid world the last year and a half. I needed to exchange items that were gifted to me in December but again because of Covid I have not gone out shopping in stores. I haven't even seen family so why would I been out shopping. All items that I was asking to just be exchanged were never touch and in original packaging. I even had all receipts. I was told no and that their return/exchange policy was within 60 days only. Which would absolutely make sense in a normal state but not during covid. Last time I checked Covid has gone well over 60 days. Apparently the safety and health of the world and their customers means nothing to them. So make sure you exchange your items within 60 days cause they just don't care otherwise. This is the first business I have come across that does not care about their customers safety and lack of customer service. Apparently Sephora hasn't gotten the memo that we should be staying home during Covid for safety of ourselves and others. Well it's good to know where Sephora stands on this! We have literally been in a pandemic and they refuse to just make an exchange to items that haven't even been touched. Sephora your customer service skills are lacking incredibly. I honestly couldn't even believe what was being said to me while I was trying to make an exchange. Absolutely pathetic. Won't be shopping here anymore. Shame on you!! And thank you to all other businesses who have done such a wonderful job accommodating to their customers because of this unfortunate Covid time that we have been living in. The employees honestly aren't the best I asked a few of them for some help on something and instead they lectured me about my makeup choices ?
