I visited this location because it's the closest Sephora to my job. I stopped by to pick up my birthday gift and, of course, check out the new Fenty Body Butter--which, by the way, is amazing! This store is always clean, well-stocked, and welcoming. The staff is consistently friendly, but one employee in particular really stood out to me. She had pink hair and the cutest outfit on the day I visited. She greeted me as soon as I walked in and later checked me out at the register. I'm so disappointed that I forgot her name because her customer service was exceptional. What impressed me even more was that I returned the very next day, and she remembered me. She was just as helpful, friendly, and welcoming as she had been the day before. To be honest, I don't always enjoy shopping at Sephora because some locations can feel a little unwelcoming. That has never been my experience at the 14th Street location. The staff here genuinely make you feel comfortable. Even when I ask for samples, they never make me feel awkward or like I'm inconveniencing them. They happily assist and continue the checkout process with a smile. Because of the outstanding customer service, this will always be my preferred Sephora location. If you're in the area, definitely check it out! read more

I went into the store looking for a mini perfume set and walked out with a mini perfume set and a free "full size" bottle. I didn't even know there was a promotion so I was pretty excited when I stumbled on it. The perfume gift set was $90 and the perfume I chose from the set was worth $105 so I saved even on the "full" bottle - which was honestly only 1oz, but still. The gift set had Gucci Bloom, Burberry Goddess, Carolina Herrera Good Girl Blush and 4 other bottles that had 2 roll on perfumes and 2 spray perfumes. Unfortunately, you need to buy the set before you can open the pack to pull out the coupon and that's where things went south for me. I opened the pack in store right after buying the pack and asked for Burberry Goddess. The lady at the counter said it was lunch time so they were short-staffed and I would need to wait for the other staff in store to come get the perfume for me... understandable. It took about 10 minutes for someone to show up. When he did, he said he couldn't find it. The coupon offers the option to order it online and have it shipped for free. Even with the directions on the card, I told them to show me how to do it online to make sure I didn't have difficulties after leaving the store and sure enough, you can't redeem it online with the instructions on the coupon. They said I would need to go to the website, click on customer support then tell them about my purchase, give them the code and my address to get it sent. The risk for further complications seemed unnecessarily high so I asked if they could pull up stores in the area to see if anyone had the perfume in store and I would just walk there to pick it up. When they did, it showed their store had it. They keep all their perfumes locked up so it's not like someone stole it however, after another 15 minutes, it couldn't be found. To be fair, she called the nearest store to confirm they had it before sending me there. As happy as I am for the score and money saved and as much as I appreciate their efforts to help me, I spent a total of 30minutes, mostly just standing in a corner and waiting for something that still wasn't found. It would be nice if they kept better inventory and saved customers the time and trouble of waiting for something they don't have. Will I go back? Unfortunately. read more

I am an older woman looking to update her makeup. I had great help from Glenn picking products. she suggested a make-up tutorial. That was a great idea and Jordan was available so she took it on. She fine tuned the color choices and showed me how to apply the makeup for my skin. She taught me a technique I had never heard of (eye liner on the upper waterline). I went here about a month ago to get shade matched. I forget the name of the woman who helped me but she was amazing. She suggested a Makeup Forever foundation, because I stream and was finding the SPF in my Bare Minerals tinted moisturizer was making me look white on camera. I also have olive skin so it's always been hard to find the correct shade. We were between a neutral and a cool shade and literally 5 employees stopped to give their input, hahaha. It was really cute. One of them suggested taking photos with flash and the neutral won out. Ive been using it since then and I love it, great recommendation. I love Sephora even though I kep Breaking out from veing given products that are sensitive to my Skin. I'm making a 3rd trip today, Mind you.. This is my 3rd trip because the first two Concealers were Nice, but one was stickier and the other Broke me out, this is my Third try, and again everytime I come I announce that my skin is Sensitive and it does Break out. . Sometimes I think Im being heard, sometimes I think that information was forgotten because again, Im going back to try another Foundation IN HOPES it doesnt Break me out, on top of that, Im bringing all of the other ones to compare to the Newest Concealer. The only reason I am giving 1 star is because of the white lady that checked me out. The beauty consultant, Monet was amazing and very attentive and helpful and I absolutely love the products she picked out for me. She above and beyond. but the older white chick was a nightmare. She was short and dismissive and I spent $160 and got not 1 sample. I had signed up and was eligible for points but she did NOTHING to tell me about how to get them or apply them to this purchase. This specific location - 14th Street went ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectations. The sales associate that helped me (Icy) was phenomenal and she is a LIFESAVER!! Finally found someone that could ACTUALLY recommend a foundation that MATCHED my skin tone! I had been to Sephora 3 times in MD in the past two weeks and it was a huge let down where I had wanted to give up going back...long story there..but I googled this location and the reviews were certainly accurate. Went to the Georgetown Sephora the other day, and though helpful, they refused to provide samples due to Covid. I figured that was normal store policy and didn't think twice. This location provided multiple samples to help me figure out my shade for foundation, which was much appreciated (this way I don't have to buy 5 products to test out the shade and then return the ones that don't work). I went to Sephora yesterday to find a lip color I had lost. I gave the young person, James, very little information to go on, other than the lip color came not in a lipstick, but in a square-edged container, and it had a wand, and I couldn't remember the brand name, but it went on glossy & then turned into a matte finish. I also had trouble remembering the exact color, but it was between a blue red & purple. Well, James showed me various options & helped me choose something to match my skin tone - olivey. I ended up buying 2 lip colors & a new brush for applying eye makeup (I had lost that, too). The customer service was fabulous.
