I was in an accident several years ago and lost several teeth, I got my first set of dentures then. They were horrible. They clattered when I talked, tried to fall out of my mouth , and limited my food choices. Also, the way they were made caused my lips to recede under and a lot of my teeth did not show. When I talked, I looked like James Cagney. I wanted to go in for adjustments but the company I got them from charged $60 for each one. I had to use so much Poligrip to keep them in my mouth that I should have bought stock in the company, I even thought about just going without them but after looking in the mirror, I looked strangely like Popeye the Sailor Man. That all changed when I went to Sequoyah. From the minute I walked in, they were very sweet and professional. Although Dr. Biel was my dentist (and I highly recommend her), the other dentists came and introduced themselves. It may seem pricey at first but they allow you to pay some up front and make payments over time until your final set of teeth come in. And, after calling around, I found that their prices were in line with others who perform the same functions. I would highly recommend Sequoyah Dental Arts to anyone. It isn't strictly a dentist, it is a cosmetic dentist as well and they work accordingly to make your teeth look their best. Oh, did I also mention that my smile is back to normal. My old dentures weren't made well and my lips curved inward when I smiled. Also, not many actual teeth showed up with these dentures. With my new dentures, the shape of my face, gums, and lips make me look better than ever, I look more like I did before the accident and I really have gained more confidence and self-esteem.Try Sequoyah Dental Arts....you won't be disappointed. read more

Sequoyah Dental Arts is full of great surprises! Conveniently located just off of Kingston Pike in a cute old house, I was overwhelmed by friendly smiles and greetings as I walked into a cozy home that felt nothing like your typical dental office. The lobby area features a big screen television, free drinks, and comfortable seats. The administrative part of my appointment was handled immediately upon entering. I went to the bathroom and was impressed by it's cleanliness and attention to detail regarding decorating and lavish paper towels. I would compare the setting to a spa. I sat down in the comfy lobby chairs, planning to wait for awhile but was called on within 5 minutes. My hygienist was exceptionally friendly and kind, making sure I was comfortable at every moment. She took several, thorough pictures as we talked about our families. She was extremely detailed with my cleaning, removing tough stains I normally get from coffee on my lower teeth. Afterwards, the dentist came in and was also very friendly offering his advice on local hiking trails and places to camp. He did a very thorough check of my teeth and gums. He also was the first dentist to ever give me solid advice about why some of my gums periodically recede. Other dentists told me it was because I was brushing hard but he took a closer look and said it was because I was clinching my jaw when I was stressed. I wasn't sure if he was right until the weeks following my appointment. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was clinching my jaw often and have worked hard to stop the habit since then. I haven't had any problem with my gums since.
