This store is so much fun. It feels like a treasure hunt every time. Serena & Lily's aesthetic is so appealing to me -- all the rattan, sea grass, whitewashed wood, capiz and shells; beachy, sophisticated, boho. I can't afford the higher priced items even on sale, but I've managed to get a few smaller effects that have added to my coastal decor in my Capitola home in a classy way. I've always had great customer service experiences at this store. When you see a product you like, you've got to pull it off the floor immediately so other covetous patrons can't grab it -- I've had people tell me they want something I'm holding in my hands if I decide not to buy it; the employees graciously hold my picks behind the counter for me. One time I was looking at rugs and an employee pulled up all the images of the rugs I was interested in for me on the website with an iPad since they can't unroll them for you. Another time I was buying a sconce light and the cashier grabbed me a brand new one still in the box to replace the display model. The inventory changes all the time and there's always a good selection with a lot of cool stuff. I purchased an Ashmont Quilt-F/Q-Coastal Blue/Sunflower ITEM NO.: Q1075-F. The threading started to separate and it was just over 30 days. A new quilt was sent. It has completely fallen apart. I had issues with the sheets as well. I haven't ever had a pair of sheets just split. I'm flabbergasted. The "enduring quality" had a time limit. read more

I have mixed feelings about this store. If you're someone who regularly shops at the regular Serena & Lily store, there are steals to be had here. If you're not, you're better off going to Home Goods (better selection, better prices)! What you pay for with a store like S&L is curation, service, and the store experience (inspiration, design ideas). You don't have that here. The worst part is you can't return anything. I bought a pair of Euro shams here for about $100 then discovered they were the wrong shade of blue... stuck with them now. This is my new favorite shop in the area! Have found wonderful deals and have gotten to class up my home. Love their large baskets and light fixtures. Lucked out and walked in during a week they were clearing out getting ready for their next shipment and everything was an extra 50% off other than bedding and wallpapers. Was able to bring home a beautiful console unit for 1/4th the full retail price! Whenever you know you want something make sure to take it to the front and have them put it aside for you, things go fast here! But keep coming back if you see something that got taken, they get new things and I've gotten second chances for most of what I've seen there before. read more

It's very much a hunt and peck situation here at the Serena and Lily Outlet. While I love to browse their catalog, I always prefer a deal, and here at the outlet, there are quite a few to be had. In between damaged items with nicks and scrapes, you will also find a treasure every now and then, if you are into their Marin lifestyle aesthetic. While many of their items are a little preppy and traditional for my taste, others like their simple quilts and throws can be near perfect. Either way, its always fun to stop by to see if they have any treasures in (or at least come away with another cute set of pillowcases.) They have a tiny lot with maybe six parking spots, but look around for street parking nearby if they are full. read more

Outstanding value for payment. I've bought sheets, pillowcases, comforters, all over the World for 55 years. These are quality products.

Great products and prices however they never answer the phone which is ridiculous. I called the.l corporate office and they said their staff was too busy but when you go in they are never that busy. I drove all the way there on 12/31 (Friday) and they were open according to Yelp. If you don't have staff to answer the phones then at least keep Yelp updated with your hours. read more

Was very excited to finally go to this outlet since we just moved to the area and I love the brand. I waited outside the store like Charlie waiting to enter the Chocolate Factory. Big smile on my face and ready to shop. While the deals on bedding were pretty great, the challenge with shopping there was the staff. Everything was an imposition for them. My putting my first batch of items in the "hold area" because they were getting pretty heavy was an imposition for them. You're not allowed to open the packages, and my phone's battery had died, so I asked if they had a photo of what my duvet looked like on a bed (which they did and it took 5 seconds to pull up on their registers) but again: SUCH an imposition. Like an imposition that included eye-rolling and huffing. From an adult woman in her '60s. I know it's still Covid, and retail is challenging, but my score has nothing to do with that. The woman who "helped" me (if pointing toward an area is helping) wanted to chat with her co-worker more than she wanted to help me. I went in a second time about two weeks after my first visit. Maybe I was too critical, or being too sensitive. Nope. I received the same treatment from the same two employees. read more

I've been in a few times, and although I love having it so local, I have yet to find anything that I've loved, and most of the prices are still pretty high. I do have to say they have some really great large light fixtures and some solid queen and full size bedding; if that's what you're looking for. With that, they do have some solid larger house pieces, and instead of it being $2000, it's $1400? I guess it's a deal? With sales being final, it's hard to want to spend that much knowing it's not returnable. They usually have some coffee tables, outdoor furniture, a few love seats/accent chairs and some dining chairs. I did spy some girl's lobster onesies for $10, so a nice option for a baby gift, as well as crib sheets. One thing I'd like to add is that the few times I've been in, the place is kind of a mess and really unorganized making shopping not the most seamless experience. I know it's a warehouse/outlet, but everything is a little haphazard. Again, I'll pop in once a while if I'm nearby to see if any hot deals or pieces have come in, but no luck yet! read more

I went to the outlet last week and found some awesome wallpaper; silly me, I didn't calculate how much I needed correctly so I called to see if they could confirm they still had the same type of wallpaper in store. Verbatim, the sales lady said they are too busy and could not take the time to look through the wall paper. There are just too many rolls.... When I was there last week I did notice a good amount of rolls, but it was not overwhelming to look through. So now I have to drive my pregnant self an hour to see if they have it. I normally don't get upset about something so petty, but this is just pure laziness and lack of customer service. read more

This place is incredible. I visited SF for a job interview and heard about this gem. Needless to say, I drove home with a SUV full of stuff. I have never seen an outlet store pricing this great! I walked away with a coffee table, bar stool, rug, mirror, pillow cases. All stuff this season and currently online! Meredith is a gem and couldn't thank her enough for her hospitality. I went in last week and found some great deals on pillow shams - there was one employee who was very kind and helpful. I was there for over an hour - shopping and deciding what would work best for my home, and the other woman working there basically spent the entire time socializing with some other women who were there - at one point there were 3 of us in line to pay and one employee ringing everyone up, while this other gal just stood in back talking to her friends. When I did manage to get her attention to ask a question, she was very snooty. I guess I don't fit the profile of someone who spends a ton of money at their outlet. HORRIBLE staff!!! Was dropping off my daughter at Cal snd drove by this place. i'm a longtime retail customer of S&L and had no idea they had an outlet. Staff was horrible, nasty and rude. As a former HR director for a well known women's retail brand this scenario would have led to an immediate call to corporate for reprimand and re-training. Their behavior was unacceptable. We were visiting family in the Bay Area when I saw this outlet in Berkeley. I immediately made my husband do a U turn so we could check it out. Lots of furniture, home decor items and linens at great prices. I scored a brand new quilt for $75 still on the website for $398! Even though I'm from out of town, I managed to fit it in my suitcase home. I wish I lived closer so I could take advantage of their furniture deals. This is to express how upset I am at your Berkeley store's refusal to allow my elderly gentleman friend to use your bathroom. We had just made a significant purchase when he, because of being prescribed a diuretic had an urgent need, and was refused access to your bathroom. I considered returning the merchandise, but had already checked out and time was of the essence. Because of COVID restrictions Alameda County suggests separation of staff and public facilities,if possible. This of course leaves it to the discretion of individual employees to grant or deny access to address a basic human need to a paying customer. As a consequence he was humiliated and almost had an accident. I don't know know the employees name, only that she was dressed inappropriately like a two year old and displayed extreme indifference. Do better, Serena&Lily. Teach your employees compassion and grace and practice it. read more

Whoa! As a person who has kids I was already drawn into the glossy lifestyle that the Serena and lily brand has smartly cultivated in the past few years. White linens with a dash of rich color and textured baubles (expensive) touches. It looks like the home I want if I lived in reality with no dirt, no shedding dog and kids who want to bathe more than three times a week. Driving by I saw the sign and pulled over, an outlet? I was intrigued but it was Wednesday and they are closed on Wednesdays. So the next day I went back, it is pretty close to my work so it wasn't a big deal to return. The store looks like a large warehouse and it is staged like a store, the staging is gorgeous BTW. They have different rooms you can imagine you live in, with no dog fur or dirty kids, and it all is for sale. Excellent prices, I mean excellent. Half or more off on everything, those iconic leather poufs? They are 248, still steep but they will last forever. Mirrors, pictures, bedding galore! OMG the bedding! The prices here are amazing, Duvet covers half off, queen was 100. Sheet sets for all of the beds in the house at amazing prices, still in the wrapping. Towels are so reasonable and incredibly soft. you have to buy what you like and not hope that you will find ten towels that are the same, because chances are you won't. Washcloths are $3! Hand towels are $10, this is a steal for the quality of the towel. Seriously target sells hand towels for more and they last like a year. Rugs were hung and laid out and some still in the factory packaging, most were between 30-50% off. Just gorgeous. Tons of indoor and outdoor chairs, great chandelier choices that they hang up and display, they had three for under $50. Just amazing. One thing I liked was both of the employees came over and asked if I was ok and were excited I was excited to be there. I seriously wanted to buy everything, but I didn't (I saved you some) Oh they also have a mini lot for free parking right in front!!!!!!!! I can see that things are totally seasonal here, and if you see something buy it because if you want it it will be gone next time you return. Very surprised at some great values. I purchased a light weight wool blue-gray queen size blanket for $99. The brand, Brahms Mount, made in Maine, apparently had a partnership with S & L. Great merchandise, helpful staff, and prices that are often 60-70 percent less than the retail store. We are furnishing a new home and spent the better part of two days there. Be prepared to rent a uhaul or hire Lugg. If you are a fan of cottage style this is the place to go in the Bay Area. We are lucky to live near the only Serena and Lily outlet. read more

Oh boy! What a fun surprise to see they opened a location in Berkeley. We were so excited that we rushed over to the shop on opening day. I really love the cheerful ascetic of Serena & Lilly's style. I have vintage traditional tastes, but they add a modern twist. The store offers lots of great decor with generous discounts. The staff is very friendly! They get a good variety of items but prices are still high. The best deals are on lighting as that clocks in at 75% below retail consistently. However, most is open box so check carefully that you have all pieces. The issue is with the staff. There is one incredibly rude woman who works there. She seems to be in a perpetually bad mood. Nice place. This was the first time I'd been in since they opened. I stopped by yesterday on my way to Berkeley Bowl West but they're closed on Wednesdays. Today Alan and I had lunch at Quince, which is right next door, so I walked in after lunch. They have attractive chairs outdoors in front w/ lovely pillows on them. Inside there's more furniture and there was one pillow I particularly liked but the price wasn't marked. The woman behind the desk was engrossed in a conversation, so she wasn't available to ask. Not that I would have bought it, but I found it attractive. I wandered through the store admiring the various goods they had. In the back they had a few quilts and a small selection of bath towels and bed linens. On the floor were empty plastic containers I stepped around. There's a de facto office on the other side of the shelves displaying the towels and linens. A man came out from there to move the plastic boxes and we chatted for a while. He asked if I was familiar w/ the brand and I said I wasn't. It's based in Sausalito but their warehouse is in Richmond, so this is a convenient location. He explained that their stock is very low and they're are consolidating it. They were lavishly stocked when they opened but have been cleared out of a lot. Their hours are limited because they don't have that much stock and it makes sense. He was very nice and informative and made up for the unavailability of the woman at the front desk. I'd be most interested in the sheets and towels, although all the towels I saw were white w/ embroidered trim, which I wouldn't want. I prefer colored towels. He encouraged me to return to check their stock, because they're always receiving new items. I like the randomness of that and since I pass by frequently on my was to BBW it will be easy to stop in. read more

Great! You will see things from the current catalog/online there. The staff are wonderful...super helpful! One thing to be sure you do is double-check pricing online to be sure you're getting a deal. I'm not sure that the recent tag sale online and prices in the outlet were in synch (same or better online for a couple things). But, again, if you love S&L, totally worth the drive!!
