Serene Beans next to the Katy water tower.

If you're searching for a cozy coffee shop with a true neighborhood café feel, Serene Bean delivers the perfect mix of great coffee, relaxed atmosphere, and that classic Friends-style hangout vibe. Whether you need a morning espresso boost, an afternoon study spot, or a comfortable place to catch up with friends, this local favorite checks every box. The Karen is a must-try signature drink--especially with an extra shot of espresso for the perfect pick-me-up. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality coffee, welcoming energy, and one of the best hidden-gem coffee shops in town.

Much needed caffeine on a cold and rainy day brought me to Serene Beans. Located in Downtown Katy, the store is located in a small quaint building. The service were fast and them was very friendly. The offer a wide variety of coffees, lattes and smoothies alongside some baked treats. They also have couches and tables for those that might want to pass the time at their store. Would definitely recommend.

Serene Beans is tucked away in a cute corner of historic Katy. It's a cute, welcoming little place with a great atmosphere. I had high hopes for this place and they were met! The coffee here is nice, I got my favorite coffee--a rose latte. They're not super common, so I was very excited. The coffee is earthy and nutty with wonderful aftertaste, and the rose syrup is delicious. The barista even put extra rose syrup in it because I was so excited to order. She was so nice! It's a nice place for conversation and coffee.

A serene place to sit and enjoy a coffee.

From the sunshine service to the fun atmosphere, Serene Beans is a delightful coffee shop. They listened to what I wanted as I ordered, giving me suggestions based on my needs. I walked away with my decaf americano with a smile of gratitude and sat down in a peaceful corner to sip my hot drink and listen to the fountain. Taking a pause before I start my day.

Now that I don't drink liquor like it's water anymore, I love finding yummy drinks that don't make my liver want to call a time out. Coffee is something I drink only ever so often because I'm already a hyper person and don't really need it, but I do have insomnia and can use it those days I've only had 3/4 hours of sleep. The staff is always warm and friendly and the drinks are way better than Starbucks imho. I get the vanilla latte with oat milk most of the time and it's fire. My kids hate when I use that word, but it's the only one I can think of to describe their drinks. Their list of drink names is so cute. I plan on trying the Karen soon. It's not very big inside, but it works because it feels all warm and cozy when you walk in. I normally see a few people studying when I go. They host AA meetings here, so I love it even more. What recovering alcoholic wouldn't enjoy an amazing coffee shop and some good convo about the steps? It's in the heart of old Katy and across from Wells Fargo. When you need a delicious pick me up, stop by and grab a drink. Edit- Sooo I had no clue that this place was a recovery based coffee shop. How did I miss that with the name Serene Beans??? I love it!

I was in the area while my friend antiqued. I punch coffee near me. A modest cottage comfortably furnished and eclectic ally decorated with good coffee. I was surprised it was a pleasant place to enjoy a cup of coffee, well brewed, and well priced. The clientele seems to be a cross section of people in the area. Service is prompt and friendly ample parking. A great choice in the area . Much better than corporate coffee

This place is huge! It's a cafe in the front and yoga (I think) studio in the back behind closed…read moredoors. The cafe is huge and spacious with lots of seating. This is a great place to come study or do work on your computer. Some tables have outlets too. The service was good. No complaints. I came here because I heard their matcha is good. Each matcha is $8.5. They claim to use ceremonial grade matcha but under the matcha latte list, there is only one drink labeled CG (ceremonial grade) while others do not. The CG is the basic and they use agave for sweetening. They also don't hand mix per cup. It is pre-batched. I'm not a pre-batch hater although I do prefer each cup to be hand mixed, so I will give it a chance if it tastes good. The CG latte was surprisingly smooth and pretty good! Not bitter at all imo, but it was slightly grainy. They used the perfect amount of agave to balance. It wasn't sweet either. Just perfect balanced flavor for a regular CG matcha latte. The other matcha latte I ordered was the banana. It is SO GOOD! A lot grainier than the CG, though. But I would definitely order that again if I come to Katy. It has a cinnamon flavor in it (probably why it felt grainier than CG) and mixed with the banana flavor was just very yummy. Highly recommend!

It's not the first time that either of us had a green tea, but this one had no sweetness, and it was really hard to eat the crystals that they had cause it also seemed like the lychee was not peeled all the way, so it was like you're eating fruit skin while drinking your drink. My other friend got a milk tea which she really enjoyed so I think if we ever go back, I would try maybe their drink that has coffee in it and not just a green tea with something. It's really strange how you order your drinks because they have a kiosk upfront and it tells you to order there but they also have people at the counter to order. We tried to order at the kiosk and it wouldn't take the card so we had to order at the counter with the lady and they use a intercom type speaker to talk to you through the glass and then when your order comes up, it's like you're in a train station. It's very loud and very strange and I don't think it's actually necessary if people just use their regular voices not a very relaxing place.
