When The ER physician was finally free to help me hours later, he said I do not understand why your doctors urgent care could not address this simple injury. The medical assistants are also very nice. The billing department is super helpful. I have no complaints! Dr. Mandalawi is the only one at this office. Sometimes, the wait can be long, but that's rare. He takes his time. He does a thorough head to toe examination. He listens to all your concerns. He does not rush. He is a kind and compassionate man. He is very knowledgeable. I've had to call him afterhours about my mom's elevated blood sugar. He is very nice about it. Unfortunately, he's cutting his hours and probably heading into retirement. Her current membership plan is more cost effective than my PPO insurance and she always works with me to write up my labs a cost effective way. Her current office staff is friendly and helpful. She sells most of the supplements that she prescribes and offers a discount for subscriptions and online orders for members. I first saw Dr Lai in 2005 and was having pelvic pain and heavy periods. I wanted to have a hysterectomy but she talked me out of it by educating me about how to heal fibroids with lifestyle and nutrition as well as the benefits of keeping my ovaries. She ordered lots of bloodwork and then gave me a food and supplement protocol that helped heal my fibroids. She saw my entire family of 5 via zoom in 2020 when several of us got Covid. Most recently she has guided me through hormone replacement therapy after a hysterectomy which launched me into surgical menopause. Dr Lai is compassionate, knowledgeable and a gifted physician. I am so grateful to know her and would highly recommend her!

It feels like a money grab more than a functional dr trying to figure out whats wrong with you. After being seen and told to get multiple 3rd party tests- which I did. And signed up for their plan, as that is the only way to move forward (and you have to sign up within a specific time frame from your first appointment or they make you start over again). You're only allowed 4 appts during your 4 month plan- and each appointment is only allowed one test result to review because "they don't want to overwhelm you". Because I had 4 tests to review, it used up all my appts in my plan, so after being prescribed multiple supplements - including hormones, I have to pay even more money to have a follow up to see how I'm doing and to actually get any care or treatment plan. This feels like a complete scam and extremely irresponsible for a Dr to not include a follow up in their treatment plan after taking medication they prescribed. It's a trap. You pay thousands of dollars out of pocket to try to get proper in depth care yet they can't even provide you the care needed until you pay even more money. Not to mention I actually referred someone else and they also had zero follow up, and actually had appointments left over. Their office has proven to have no regard for their patients and follow through with their treatment plans. Very disappointed in how things were handled. During this time there were also many times of disorganization, extremely long wait times for appointments - ordering supplements and them sending the wrong thing. Sending me updates for the person I referred to them. I had a lot of hope Dr. Lai would help me with some challenging health issues. After thousands of dollars and more stress from dealing with their office, I'm the same if not worse than when I started. I would not recommend.

I had a very upsetting experience with Dr. Khawam. I have been dealing with severe back pain for…read morealmost a year, and the pain has significantly affected my sleep, daily activities, and ability to work. I attempted to have an MRI done three separate times, but because of my severe claustrophobia, I was unable to complete it. I came to see the doctor because I wanted to know if there were other options, such as sedation, that could allow me to get the MRI or if there were other tests that could help determine what was causing my pain. Instead of listening to my concerns, I felt that I was being dismissed. He questioned why I needed the MRI and what I thought it was going to show. He told me that my options were physical therapy and losing weight and suggested that my weight was likely the reason for my back pain. I understand that my weight is something I need to address, but I know my body, and I know that the severe pain I have been experiencing is not something I should simply be told to live with because of my weight. I was looking for a doctor to listen to me and help determine why I have been in so much pain. When I became upset, he told me to give him a moment while he spoke with a colleague. When he returned, I felt that his attitude toward me was even worse. He asked me what I thought was wrong with me. At that point, I became overwhelmed and walked out because I no longer felt comfortable continuing the conversation. I want to give a special thank-you to the front desk staff. They listened to me when I came out of the room upset, allowed me to explain what had happened, and helped me get connected with Corrina, the nurse. I truly appreciate them taking my concerns seriously instead of ignoring what had happened. I am also very grateful to Corrina, who called me, listened to me, apologized for my experience, and told me she would speak with the doctor and his supervisor. Most importantly, she actually helped me move forward. She was able to get a CT scan ordered as an alternative since I could not complete the MRI, as well as referrals to neurology and neurosurgery to explore other options, including ways I may eventually be able to complete an MRI. My CT results showed that there are issues with my spine that require further evaluation, which was extremely upsetting to me because I felt that I had initially been ready to be dismissed as simply being overweight. I am sharing this review because patients deserve to be listened to, treated with compassion, and taken seriously, especially when they are experiencing severe pain. I am thankful that I spoke up for myself and that the front desk staff and Corrina took the time to listen and advocate for me. Without their help, I don't know if I would have gotten the additional testing and referrals I needed.
