I've been trying to shop local for everything. I wanted to bring baked goods into the office, so I googled bakeries and Sergio's kept coming up. I kind of didn't believe it because it's an Italian restaurant, but the baked goods are phenomenal. I got a dozen donuts, some croissants, pastries, and a whole loaf of bread for an amazing price!! I had high hopes for this place... My first time here... Bakery is busy so that may be good. I didn't try that out but the café... Ambience... Local walking in order tables and chairs comfortable absolutely fine for what it is. Food... I had their special bratwurst hoagie... Small sausage big roll light on the peppers and onions. Not bad but I would certainly not come back for it. French fries were freshly cooked and crispy... Yum. Service... One woman working in the front... Justin from another job with the other jobs T-shirt on... Didn't seem to know much about what was going on. Another woman who was serving food that where the orders were took seem to know the score there in terms of the menu. But she wasn't family. She didn't ask if I needed anything else when she brought my food and never came back. I got a sandwich with yellow mustard on which I absolutely do not like ever, but ate it given the circumstances and wasn't feeling like I wanted to wait for them to redo it and the environment with the lack of service. I must say too like so many places you pay they turn around for you to sign and then it asked for a tip and I absolutely refuse to tip before I get service. Or if the service is just taking an order or buying something. It's crazy. Anyway, between the food and the service, I would definitely not come back to the café. If I live closer, I'd probably come check out the bakery. That was pretty busy while I was sitting there. read more

I really wanted to fall in love with Sergio's, but sadly we are not meant to be. We've had some compatibility issues over the years. We discovered Sergio's in 2023. They had an insane pizza deal on Fridays. Was the pizza amazing? No, but the deal was! Wings, pizza, salad, AND a dessert! All for $30. Crazy!! They also had crazy pastry deals like buy a dozen donuts get a dozen free! The first time we went, we had an incredible experience. Incredible! That first experience was so good that it kept us coming back. Yet, Every. Single. Time. We went back we had issues. Some of the issues we've experienced included: losing our order, waiting over an hour for our food, attitudes on the phone, and outdated information on their website. When they lost our ticket order we waited (not exaggerating) OVER an hour for our food. They didnt even apologize lol I'm not looking for a comp on food, but damn not even an apology? We waited there, in person, at the restaurant. Another time I called to order a muffaletta. The girl on the phone had no idea what I was talking about. Then she said there's no such thing on the menu that sounds like that. I get put on hold. I wait for 6 minutes then someone else answers the phone and says it's not the day of the special (they changed it). I call to order a sub. They no longer make subs past a certain time, but that's not updated on the menu on their website. We call and at times no one answers the phone. So we have to call a few more times to only have the phone answered by an exasperated employee. I can't keep up with Sergio's. Sergio's has left us in the dust lol I truly wanted to love this place. The food is good, the prices great, and the first time we went was so fantastic that we held onto that experience despite all the issues that kept happening afterwards. Wings are decent size and cooked right. The fries though- damn good fries. Pizza- we hit a rush and something went wrong. Not sure if ours was slipped or given away BUT the cashier/waitress figured it out before we did, tried to make it right with us while we were waiting for the pizza to be re-made. Yeah, it was a long wait, but again- the food is amazing and they caught their own mistake, and did their best to make good. That's a sign of a great place in my book. I feel like a regular here and it feels so good. My office tends to grab lunch here from time to time but now I'm stopping by after work. The sandwiches and pizzas are delicious. The fact that they are a bakery at heart means the base of everything is just so good. I've also tried a few bakery items and haven't been sad yet. My most recent stop included a full king cake for Father's Day Tuesday. I called in mid morning to save one and I was thankful the had one available. I love how this is locally owned & staff are always friendly. I bring my family here often for dinners & I stop by often to grab doughnuts for my office. Cake incident: I hate to bring in a negative, because I've loved them. I recently placed my 1st car order with the & it caused a lot of headache/stress the day of pickup. I had been emailing about a pickup by 8am. Arrived at 7:45am & was told the gait wasn't there/hadn't been communicated to the baker. Mind you I had email confirmation from the email on their website. They were able to get it done at 10am, so that was good & it was perfect. Just caused a lot of stress and added logistics challenge because our event was at 11. Overall I'd say make sure you know what the baker email is if you are getting a cake & be sure to follow up with them the day before. Tips: -Follow them on Facebook! This is where they post specials as well as last minute schedule changes and such. -They charge a small fee if you use credit cards. I'm not sure what is is exactly. Small enough I don't care. Me and hubs ended up here unexpectedly one day and I'm glad that we did. We ended up ordering a couple of things to share and some pastries to take home. I started with a Frito pie that was quite delicious and my hubby had the quesadilla special that came with fries and a drink. The quesadilla was delicious but the French Fries - OMG these were my absolute favorite. I am not much of a potato person so when I find a good French Fry I like - I rave - and I absolutely loved the French fries here. We also had some wings to share that were very nice too. Overall we enjoyed our lunch very much. The service was quick and the staff were very attentive. The desserts were all very tasty too and we can't wait to come pick up some more. We have had the pizza here before to go and I remember it being very good too. I want to come back for dinner one day to try the various dinner specials they have going on. So we shall return. decided to try Sergio's today for the first time. It was fairly busy. They had a pasta special of $10. We decided to share a La Mama sandwich with Chile cheese fries and some fried mushrooms. The food came out fairly quick. The sandwich was super delicious. The mozzarella with the prosciutto made the sandwich. The mushrooms were fried to perfection. The chile cheese fries were a let down. The fries were crispy, but their idea of Chile was tomatoes. I got the Xmas Chile so I was hoping for something better as it said a New Mexican favorite on the menu. Sergio's has stepped it up notch over the last few months in a tremendous way. They added a new patio area with several tables and umbrellas, great lunch options (11am-3pm) and even a small menu for dinner (presuming 3-6 pm). I believe they have a breakfast menu, too, but I forgot to ask about it. They have coffee and coffee drinks to order along side your pastries and donut, too. My husband discovered this place last year as he loves hole-in-the-wall ma-and-pop spots. They have a BOGO deal on donuts on Saturday mornings and their lunch deals are a steal. We frequent Sergio's on Saturday, but get there early as they can run out of donuts. Their donut are fluffy and tender plus the frosting isn't overly sweet. This trip we picked up a slice of pepperoni pizza and a burger for lunch to take home. While we waited, I checked out the day-old bread and pastry options - all listed for $2 - and I grabbed a bag with three gooey cinnamon rolls for tomorrow's breakfast. There were baguettes, danishes, empanadas, loaves, etc. bagged and ready to take home. We waited a short bit but nothing unbearable long, and the dining area was filling up so the wait was understandable. The counter service is always super friendly and enthusiastic, too. On another note, the hubby ordered my birthday cake from here and it was DELISH. It was a chocolate buttercream with yellow cake. The frosting to cake ratio was almost perfect, maybe a little heavier in the frosting but our son loved that. Sorry I don't have a photo of the cake, please take me word on it and give them a try for your next special occasion. TLDR: Sergio's is open for breakfast, lunch (11-3) and dinner (3-6). The donuts are fresh and fluffy with the perfect texture and sweetness. The lunch menu offers hot and cold sandwiches and pizza with specials during the week - sure to fill you up without breaking the bank. Dinner is mostly pastas like spaghetti and even eggplant parmigiana, but we haven't personally visited for dinner (we mostly do lunch or donuts - BOGO Saturday). I took advantage of Sergio's $30 Friday special and all I can say is wow. You get a 16" pizza, 8 wings, choice of salad and dessert. Today's dessert choices were apple or cherry pie. I went with apple. The pizza was really good. The spinach strawberry salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing was fresh and yummy. The wings were great and the apple pie was delicious. I was irrationally excited to discover this place. We need a neighborhood bakery in the worst way, and even though this one is about 10 minutes away, it's family run and adventurous in its offerings so it was like "game on" when I stumbled across it. The first time I visited, I bought a bunch of rum balls (nostalgia!) and a couple of croissants. Burque Bakehouse has spoiled me for croissants so I probably won't be ordering those here again, but the rum balls were solid and they offered donuts that are probably more in their wheelhouse. The second time I visited, I ordered their Friday special: a large pizza, a salad (choice of strawberry, chef, Greek and something else), wings and a rotating dessert for four for $30. What?!? That's a crazy good deal. And it was a solid dinner. The pizza was fresh with good crust, the wings were reportedly good), and I enjoyed a salad option (I got chef so only sampled that and a half slice of pizza) in addition to the usual Friday junk food extravaganza. This week, they had crème brûlée which I'm thinking is not their sweet spot. It was OK. But I'm sure other weeks when they have cupcakes or standard desserts they shine. Service was personal and attentive, although we got both orders to go. We will definitely be back. I'm intrigued by their bread bowl soups. And that Friday special is a great option for when you just can't be bothered but Domino's just won't do. read more

This one is a harder review for me than normal! The dinner entree's are at a sweltering 1 star while the baked goods are up to 5 stars! The price is extremely fair for most of the items. So I don't have complaints about pricing at all! We went in on a Friday evening to pick up a phone in order and get some extra pastries to try over the weekend. We ordered a pizza and the 6 wings and fries combo. I also added a small cup of the lobster bisque when we were picking the order up. The place itself is large with tons of baking area and a large kitchen. The dining area isn't huge but there were plenty of open tables to sit at if we wanted to. For pastries we got a Blueberry Danish, a cherry turnover, a chocolate glazed doughnut, and a cream puff. Yes these were to be eaten over 3 or so days and not in one sitting in case you are worrying about my sugar intake! The pastries and baked good's were all amazing, and they are the reason this review gets more than even 1 star! Even 3 days later they tasted fresh and great! The Blueberry Danish was by far the best of them all! The doughnut was also really good as well. The cream puff was my least favorite, but those aren't really my thing either! Also the fries were great. Cooked well and seasoned perfectly! The lobster Bisque was mediocre. It wasn't great and lacked in flavor, and I definitely wouldn't get it again. Costco does a lobster bisque that is much better IMO, and it's frozen. The pizza was horrible! In fact it may just be the worst pizza I've ever ordered from a restaurant. It was no different than the pizza from my elementary school cafeteria. The cheese wasn't great, the dough wasn't good either, overall it was terrible! I'll never get their pizza again. The wings were wayyyyy overdone. My GF asked if she was eating chicken jerky! We ate way less than half of the food and threw the rest in the garbage. I always save my leftovers, even if just a 1% chance of eating them. This had 0% odds so into the dumpster it went! Such a bummer and waste of food! Overall I'll be back for pastries for sure! Never getting their pizza or wings though, and will give their other food entree's at least one more shot before calling this a pastry stop only! read more

Sergio's is a hidden and sometimes unsung treasure! I'm from New York and Boston and the place reminds me of great little Italian bakeries back East (but with a New Mexico twist). I highly recommend their Meatball subs - their marinara sauce is delicious and the meatballs are so tasty. But the biggest surprise was that the sub roll - which was actually a crispy baguette instead of the usual soft roll. It's served with a choice of sides - I chose fries and they were crispy and tasted homemade, not frozen. I don't usually have dessert but I couldn't resist the chocolate covered eclair - huge, reasonably priced and absolutely perfect! The staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. read more

BEST DONUTS IN ALBUQUERQUE: I heard about Sergio's donuts from Nextdoor and Reddit, and decided to try them this morning. Hands down they have best apple fritter in this area. it's perfectly baked - crispy on the outside and soft on this inside with chunks of apple. Their pecan/sticky buns and crullers were outta sight! Came back on a Friday for the special! Called ahead to order because we had a short lunch window, and we are so glad we did, because I guess the special goes quick to sell out!! We got a Supreme pizza and the crust was very well baked, foldable, with a nice amount of cheese pull, and good toppings! We got our wings well done, they were good and meaty, with buffalo sauce and delicious ranch dressing, a Caesar salad, which had good shaved Parmesan and the salad was seasoned with a good amount of black pepper! Nice touch!! Our dessert was a Berry Chantilly cake, which was nicely flavored of almond, with a generous amount of berries! Don't miss out on this special! Wow this place is so nostalgic of a New York Italian bakery. It has a cute Italian grocery section and bread loafs for sale. The pastry counter is incredible. The apricot (jam?) was ok, the icing probably weighed as much as the cake and it was nearly impossible to get a piece of the cake itself and I couldn't locate the cheese.
