I have been going to Sergio's for at least 15 years, initially to have a semi-precious stone from Brazil set into a white gold pendant, which Sergio designed. I also bought two white gold necklaces. I had two pairs of silver earrings that were completely tarnished, and I needed them cleaned. I'd been putting it off, though, because I didn't know how long it would take, or how much it would cost. I brought them into Sergio's in Casa Linda, since it was close to my house, and it looked old-school and locally-owned. The gentleman behind the counter said he could clean the earrings, and he took them, I assumed, to go write me a ticket and bring me an estimate. Instead, he came back in 3 minutes with perfectly polished earrings. He said it would be no cost, as it was such an easy job. I was flabbergasted and delighted. Sometimes, good service is hard to find. However, you only need to walk into Sergio's Jewelry to see that they don't give good service; they present you with amazing service. From the moment they replied to my watch repair quote, to the instant I left the store, I knew I had made the right decision by choosing Sergio's. My wife's Fossil watch has been out of commission for the better part of a year. There was some wire behind the watch face and the hands were no longer moving. I had dreaded the repair cost but really wanted to fix the watch as it was a Christmas gift to my wife some years ago. I put in a bid for the repair through Yelp and Yelp sent that repair to five jewelry and/or watch repair shops. Sergio's was the first to respond. Not only did they identify the issue based on my submitted picture, but they also gave me an instant estimate on cost and time to repair. Another store told me to come in and they would take a look and give me a quote. The other three stores flat-out denied the repair due to the fact it was a Fossil watch. Needless to say, my choice wasn't difficult. Once I arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff who swiftly transferred my wife's watch to their resident watch-repair expert. Within five minutes, the watch was returned to me fully repaired and functional. I was told that the repair is a common one and that the watch needed a battery as well. Seeing as I'm a computer science guy, not a watch science guy, I couldn't regurgitate what the exact problem was. What I remember the most, and why I will continue to return here for any of my jewelry needs, is that Sergio's Jewelry exemplifies customer service. In a world of money-hungry businesses, small and large, it's nice to know that there are still good establishments out there willing to meet and exceed the needs of their customers. Long story, Short: The incredible knowledge and depth of service at Sergio's both lead to the most critical thing in this industry ... TRUST! I have to say, I've been a regular at a few other jewelers around DFW for years now, and I've never been treated as well as I was today at Sergios. This includes mom and pop shops to Bachendorf's in Preston Center. I brought an engagement ring in to have the stone reset. It was a solitaire that was purchased online, and as far as I knew, I got a great deal on it. After a brief wait in the store (which went by pretty quickly when there is so much merchandise to browse), I spoke with a pleasant woman who took the ring and stone back to Sergio for analysis. Sergio's estimation that the setting was too weak for the large diamond made perfect sense. Nothing had broken, and the stone had simply popped out of the prongs. Instead of popping it back in, they took the time to explain options to me about putting in a more durable setting to prevent the stone from coming loose in the future. Although the stronger setting was more expensive, I have to say that there was no pressure. Either way was fine with them, but the explanation of it was so rational, that I opted for the strong setting. Here's where it got good. Before leaving, they gave the diamond a cursory test with an electronic tester. This tester registers both natural and lab stones as well as Moisonite. Well, the tester stayed dark on my brand new pear cut "diamond". This was a unique stone that came with a CoA online, but the test says that it's not a diamond. I was a bit upset, but I have a PayPal moneyback guarantee online. So now I wonder, what DO I have? Both Sergio and Kahl enthusiatically began to explain the various testing methodologies, and ducked into the back to retrieve all of their testing equipment. We ran many tests : conductivity, refraction, specific density, etc.. after each one, the guys explained how it worked and what the results meant. In addition, they schooled me a bit on standards for lab-made diamonds (they have a serial number etched on the side starting with 'LG'). I was at this store for maybe an hour to learn that my "diamond" was really a CZ. Thankful that I did not wait years to learn that the engagement ring was a fake, I tried to pay the gentlemen for thier time and expertise. They would not take my money. They said that fakes like this give the whole industry a black-eye, and they simply wanted to help me out. Not only did they know their stuff, they were passionate, and sympathetic. In retail these days that is like catching a unicorn eating 4-leaf clovers. Ultimately, I ended up buying some silver coins (the jewelery shop has numismatics and old money too! pretty cool.), and leaving. In the precious metal/stone industry, we don't all carry around testing equipment with us. Trust in your vendor is paramount. Finding someone you can trust who is humble, and happy to help you out is even more rare, but you can find all of that at Sergio's Jewelery in Casa Linda. We have used Sergio's for minor watch repairs and battery replacement and have also purchased jewelry here. Generally they have been pleasant and efficient. However, at a recent visit for adjusting the band size for my watch, the links were replaced unevenly so the clasp was off center on the wrist. I had mentioned this was something I was concerned with before the work was done. I asked if the jeweler could take one link and switch it to the other side of the clasp. He refused stating that it would not do any good and was very unfriendly. I paid him but will now need to go to another jeweler to center my clasp properly. By arguing with the customer and refusing to take five minutes to do the work properly, they have lost us as customers. read more

My family and I have been going to this jewelry place since the 60's or 70's! And NEVER have gone to any other place to have our jewelry appraised, fixed, or sized. They also have some beautiful jewelry! We bought my daughter some earrings from them for her 5th birthday and she loved them! I actually live in Colorado now, but if I ever need any jewelry fixed or sized or cleaned I will bring all of the jewelry with me when I come visit my family and bring it to Sergio's. I even asked a jeweler down the street from where I live in Colorado if they could put a battery in my Michael Kors watch and they said they couldn't do that type of watch. When I brought it with me to Dallas they put a new battery in my watch in a few minutes and it was done. I was only in Dallas for about 10 days and I needed several pieces of jewelry, fixed, cleaned, sized, and batteries for a couple of my watches. They initially said it would be done by next week, but I was actually leaving before then and they rushed my order and was able to do everything the day before I left back to Colorado! The first one was on 11/27/18 (see below), which was painful to write, since I had been a loyal customer for years, until I was treated very badly by a woman named, Jenny. Today, I noticed a "Response" from the business (Jenny) posted just last month, 03/04/20 (16 months later) that's very concerning. Not only is the content in 'Response' on 03/04/20, completely false, in bad faith about me, it is also fraudulent in that it presents itself as being written by the Owner, Sergio, who past away 10/10/19, and who I did a lot of business with through the years. Sergio (RIP) deserved more respect than this, as I do. Publishing false information is illegal (libel); and, in this instance, it's morally unconscionable. read more

What a fun mix of casual/costume jewelry, fine jewelry, and incredible repair work! Something for everyone in the store, and the nicest people around; you'll never feel unwelcome because your jewelry budget might be smaller than that of someone else. Sergio has re-pronged and worked on the band of my grandmother's wedding ring so I can wear it, written up multiple appraisals, helped me find the best possible jewelry insurance options, and *saved* my antique wedding band, which was handmade in the early 1920s (the intricate interior platinum structure was worn to the point stones were falling out). I'd been unable to wear it for almost ten years, without hope of having it back on my finger, until Sergio looked at it. I won't go anywhere else. BEWARE!!!! I brought in my Tiffany's necklace that was 16" when I brought in, it only needed to be sautered. Somehow, after I picked it up, it grew to 19". I even have the original receipt saying that it is 16". I called the owner to tell her and she was rude and insisted on talking over me. I went in on whim to have my college ring resized in anticipation of pursuing my PhD at the same university. I was helped immediately, the price was quite affordable, and the clerk even knew the weight of gold! (I was a broke undergrad when I bought it and went with 10k white gold).
