My biggest pet peeve is when people (maintenance, plumbers, etc.) put on booties, then go outside to get something and come back in with the same pair, or reuse booties they used at other homes. I was at first worried, but they redid any spots they might have stepped on without me even asking and worked their way out of the house to limit stepping in spots they already did, which tells me they are attentive and actually serious about cleaning!

Called and was told that I can bring the rugs to the store in Oak Park or the truck will come to my home and pick them up. I opted for the truck coming to my house to get them all. If you drop them off at the store they gave a discount. Be prepared to wait though! Lots of waiting for a phone call for them to update you on the progress of your rugs. I think overall from my first phone call to the rugs being re-delivered took over a month. Their communication was pretty good - they called to let know the status of my rugs and if I wanted certain extras like a stain resistant coat. The guys who came to get our rugs were professional and quick. They took 4 big area rugs and a hall runner. They never told you a price until the guys put all of your rugs back where they go in your home. So I wish they were more upfront about the price. The price was worth it based on how clean my rugs looked - they all looked new. All the stains and marks were gone! The guys who came to put the rugs back were patient with me trying to remember how the rugs were laid. Pro tip to take pictures of how your rugs were laid before they take them. They also would move my furniture so my husband and I could shuffle the rugs back in place.

I chose to go with LVP instead which their project manager Anthony provided a written quote for just over $7,700 for my main floor. I confirmed the total with Anthony before making any decisions. Then the bill came. First they sent a $20,000 invoice claiming they "forgot" to update the quote from hardwood to vinyl. Then $15,500 after "revisions." Then $10,000 when Anthony said he wanted to 'take care of me because that was the wrong quote.' Every number was different. None of them matched the written quote I had. When I met with his manager Bill and explained that an employee's mistake isn't the customer's financial responsibility, his response was simple: pay the extra $2,000 or we put a lien on your house. He acknowledged it would likely cost me more than $2,000 to fight it. Then he offered $100/month payments which of course became $200/month by the time the paperwork arrived. I paid in full because I had no choice. They knew that. A written quote should mean something, and it shouldn't be a customer's responsibility to correct a company's mistake. Apparently, it doesn't mean anything to BMS-CAT and you should know that before you hire them especially when you're already dealing with the stress of a water loss.
