What a gorgeous, treasure trove of a store! When my friend and I wandered inside, we had no idea how large it was, how full of beautiful and various things, and how long we would spend here! We were welcomed by a friendly staff member on the first floor where you can find some antiques and collectibles and lots of quality glassware, blankets, jewelry, candles and room scents. On the second floor we found room after room of absolutely stunning home decor of all kinds - furniture, art, sconces, lights, posters, art, and more. I saw about 300 things I would love to have in my home and I saw even more that I could find somewhere to put it if I only had the space. This is a gorgeous store and a must see if you are in Cannon Beach. If I lived anywhere nearby, this would certainly be a place that I'd come to find items for my home. There was enough variety in the treasures inside that almost anyone, with any style, would be able to find items to please their tastes. I've been coming to this store since I was a teenager. The customer service has gotten a thousand times better, no more crusty mean old ladies working there, it's been nice folks for a while now. I've dropped a few hundred dollars here at a time and I can honestly say I still have every item I've purchased from here (outside of candles I've burned). I've never written a store review before, but I felt compelled to write this one because, beyond having beautiful inventory, Sesame & Lilies offers the BEST customer service of any furniture or design store I've ever shopped at. I live in Oakland, California, and visited Cannon Beach this summer, where I fell in love with a marble coffee table. I took a photo of it and assumed I could find it online or closer to home, but I couldn't find it anywhere. The more I thought about it, the more I realized how much I wanted that table. On a long shot, I called the store to see if they could ship it to me and was put in touch with Lauren, the amazing designer who helped me. Long story short, Lauren worked SO hard to make get the table to me. Sesame & Lilies doesn't deliver out of state, but she helped me find a trustworthy delivery company and then coordinated with them to ensure the table arrived safely. She didn't charge me anything extra for her help--even though (I'm embarrassed to admit) it took hours of her time. Lauren's incredible customer service and genuine desire to help--without any additional profit for the store--made me a Sesame & Lilies customer for life. Even though I live far away, I will absolutely shop there whenever I'm anywhere near Cannon Beach. You just don't find customer service like this at big chain stores! read more

My favorite shop in all of Cannon Beach! Wish there was a boutique like this in Portland! Sesame and Lilies has a little bit of a lot of things. Jewelry (all price ranges), home decor, variety of interesting cookbooks, gorgeous linens, soaps, perfume, candles, Turkish towels, gourmet cooking staples, chocolates, cozy throw blankets, pillows, sweaters, robes, beautiful drinking glasses and bar ware, cookware, handbags and beach totes, lovely stationary, exquisite silver serving pieces - and more! If you are shopping for art, lamps or furniture, make sure to go upstairs to the second floor, accessible from the entry way. It's a mix of French country meets upscale beachy and upgrades yesterday's snabby chic. Sesame and Lilies is the kind of shop where one gets enjoyment just from wandering through, looking at all the wares and marveling at the various "finds." Whether you are seeking a gift for that hard-to-buy-for friend or a treat for yourself, you can find it here even if you have no idea what that thing is! Last trip there I bought gray and white striped Turkish towels that are both beautiful and super absorbent. As a swimmer, I'm always looking for towels that don't weigh a lot or take up room in my gym bag, but quickly absorb water and stand up to multiple washings a week. Found them here for an amazing price of $22! They have been getting softer with every wash and look and feel gorgeous. Some reviewers comment in the lack of service. I've never experienced that. Maybe because I like to peruse without someone asking me if I need help because I go into this shop to see what's new without any goal or agenda. I like to take my time and look at everything and if something catches my eye, and I can't do without, I purchase. For me, no trip to Cannon Beach is complete without a stop or two at Sesame and Lilies! It's part of the reason I take the drive out there! read more

Every time we come to Cannon Beach we have to sit Il at Sesame and Lilies. There are amazing vintage pieces intermingled with the new. I do not have the space for their big items (if I did I would come here first), but I always find so many things I need to have. They have incredible items - from scarves and sweaters to food and pantry items, China and dish ware, furniture and other home goods. And the art is gorgeous. It's impossible to walk out empty handed. My mom and I are always jonesing until we get to visit S&L. Every turn is a delight. read more

I have spent 20 minutes in this beautifully laid out store. It is such a pity that neither of the two employees made eye contact or greeted me, although I was the only one there at first. To be fair, they didnt talk to anyone else either! As someone who works in retail, they broke the very first rule of excellent customer service. My Darling Husband and myself walked in to Sesame and Lilies upstairs, and bought a Script Letter Poster for my younger brother's kid. It is a poster that shows how every letter of the English alphabet is to be written in cursive. There are so many posters available in the baskets upstairs. We used to buy our great smelling liquid dish soaps here as well. We were told that the company that makes those liquid dish soaps is no longer selling them, and they will no longer carry the bottles at Sesame and Lilies. So, now we buy them online. There are many different food items to buy in case you are in the market for them. And, there were pieces of fancy silverware, in case you are looking for something for your new Condominium. Usually, when we are here, there is very little room to walk around because the downstairs is jam packed with everything. read more

An absolute gem of a store! A friend of ours recommended we stop here on our visit to Cannon Beach, and I am so glad we did. They have every nook and cranny of the store packed with all types of home goods: art/decor, candles and defusers, bath and body products, clothing, jewelry, kitchenware and more. This is an upscale shop that sells home décor, furniture, gifts, jewelry. The displays are gorgeous. I have visited this store several times but they seem to cater more toward the customers with big purchases and ignore people like me who tend to buy smaller purchases. It's a bit snooty. Hence the one star ding. Furniture pieces are typically in the 1500 + for sideboard or coffee table. Pillows $195. Very expensive. You can find décor pieces, posters for less and those are the types are things I purchase. read more

No one looked up or acknowledged our presence in the store. My wife and I both said Hello and no reply or response from the lady behind the counter or the other employee walking by. Sesame and Lilies has lovely things, no doubt. In the past, I've purchased slippers, a robe and blankets. Today, I was tempted by the mother of pearl and silver serving pieces, as well as a few of the glass and silver trifles. But I wasn't tempted enough because the service is so incredibly rude. I was there for 15 minutes, and neither of the women in the store said as much as "hello". I'm sorry, but that's not acceptable. I consider customer service to be an essential part of the buying/selling experience, and I don't buy from unfriendly sellers. It's not like I can't get what they're selling at Sesame and Lillies other places--I travel, I live in the Pearl, and I buy/sell/collect vintage and antique items--I know how to find what's sold at Sesame and Lillies. And I'll buy them elsewhere until I find that the service has changed. This is a beach town, Cannon Beach, people roll in, casually dressed, and sometimes still plan to spend money. It would behoove the salespeople in Cannon Beach to be more cognizant of their customer service skills (or lack thereof) and try friendliness instead of pretension and silence. read more

This was the only shop in Cannon Beach worth my time, as I do not consider myself a touron, nor do I have a penchant for faux-fancy junk. This store is a fabulous example of shabby-chic and French country fusion. Beautiful products throughout. I would die for some of the lamps I found in there. Well, they have great collection, no doubt on that. However, they don't honor the price listed. I haven't argued why. A 24 set ceramic cups and saucer marked as "$15 set" on each and every cup and saucer. When asked the associate, mentioned me, it is strange, need to find with the owner. I waited an hour and left. Later when I called back, the associate told me that the cost of set is $120. I said thanks. read more

Yes, this is a beautiful for store, but unfortunately their customers service does not match! I was enjoying myself looking around for something special to buy when am employee came up to me asking if she could take my tiny ice cream cone to the counter. I said, no thank you. Well, she says, we just don't allow food in our store. That's fine, walking out, I said it is too bad as I had been planning on spending lots of money. It is one thing to have a child in your store with sticky fingers, but a grown woman is quite capable of eating a looking at things without spilling.
