It's easy to check in and get seen by a doctor. It wasn't busy at all when I arrived. The staff was all very sweet and kind. The building is bright, and the floors are squeaky clean. On Aug. 4, I tripped on a rock and slammed head first into a rock in Jasper National Park while completing a backpacking trip. I received prompt and excellent care from the friendly staff at this facility. Dr. Wilson stitched a deep gash on my forehead with six sutures. She did such a good job that no scar is left. Seton General is a very small, limited facilities hospital located within the Jasper town area. I ended up spending a night and also got treatments in the emergency room. They have x-ray and lab facilities. It's certainly limited and works best for people who have minor skiing/snowboarding injuries. It's a very casual, homely type of place where there isn't really any demarkation between the emergency and non-emergency areas and in fact, the same nurses and doctors in emergency were responsible for other things as well. Considering the size of Jasper, I think this hospital is great. They have a good community spirit here. Everyone is known on a first name basis, from doctors to cleaning staff. MY only complaint is that they screwed up a diagnosis for me which had me stay overnight and miss a day of work! read more
