I will start out by saying that I take custard and mini golf very seriously. I'm sure that most of you reading this want to know if this place is good or not; so I won't waste your time with idle musings. Musings about how kind hearted and beautiful the staff is, or how tasty there cheesy pretzels are, or how the grass is kept in pristine condition. Instead I want to focus on how impressive the whole experience was. I hope and pray that this almost mythological haven of joy and happiness will be a beacon of hope for years and generations to come. Like when the great Hercules had to overcome the obstacles of Hera (his beautiful but spiteful step-mother), so I too had to conquer the obstacles of this gorgeous links. Though the stones that paved the path that led me on a journey from hole to hole were not of alabaster, even the great Boromir of Gondor would be proud to call Settler's Mill his home. I wish that the owner and founder of this establishment will live a long, prosperous life. That his wife's thighs will be anointed too and bare many sons. That his cornucopia will never be depleted. That the offspring of said thighs will be strong in will and brawn. That the wisdom of Solomon will reside between his ears. That the strength of a legion of horses will rest in his right hand. That everything he touches will be blessed. If however the owner and founder is of female sex. I declare health and happiness upon her. That her tendons will know no injury. That her incredible self esteem and power would flow from her into those she blesses with her presence. That the physical prowess of a thousand Amazonian warriors will reside in her forearms. That her mind will be blessed with enough cunning to ruin the world, but enough compassion to not. read more

One of maybe a half-dozen mini golf courses in the area. This one includes an ice cream shop... so they win! Also was a couple of go-cart tracks and a horse stable with trail rides right next door. One stop adventure destination. read more

This place was super fun! The course was scenic, they had fun and interesting set ups. I would love to go back which is unusual for me with mini golf. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in Minocqua looking for something to do. The dude at the front desk was nice and even came to warn us about closing time and didn't bother us for staying 10 minutes over closing time. read more

I seldom (if ever) give 5 stars, but Settler's Mill deserves every one. We usually get there once each summer (we live over an hour away) and we're always impressed by the care taken not only to the greens but also to the cleanliness of the park and facility. This year there were new landscape plantings, the holes were a decent challenge, and there is just the right amount of shade! We didn't stay for ice cream as we were heading on to dinner, but I highly recommend this place for an hour of pure fun. Even the "littles" will have a great time. It is a bit pricey at $10.50 per person, but well worth it. read more

Had an awesome time today. The course was fun and well designed. Lors of shade for those hot days, like today. The lanscaping was very fitting for an outdoor "up north" theme. Running waterway thru out the course and a waterfall at the end. Great selection of ice cream treats as well. One of my favorites mini golf places in Wisconsin. read more

RUDE MANAGER/OWNER, GO NEXT DOOR TO HOLIDAY ACRES! Was here with my family and my daughter decided she was to tired to play after a day out in the sun on the lake, ok so she walked with us. We were on hole 4 and my wife asked my daughter if she wanted to golf for her on this hole, all of a sudden the RUDE owner/manager comes flying out of the office to us and tells me im breaking the rules and if she is going to play she needs to pay.. Whatever jerk! if you are so big on following the rules what about the family of 8 in from of us? your rules clearly state only 6 to a party.. Do your family a favor and go next door to Holiday acres nicer and newer course.. read more

I've been going to Minocqua since I was a kid, and Settler's Mill is ALWAYS a stop for the annual family mini-golf challenge. They have revamped their course and have it refreshed and updated. I love the water holes the best! The course is in great shape (compared to the other place in town that we used to go to which has completely fallen apart). If you're up for some extra excitement, there are go-karts next door. Sadly, I did not win the challenge this year -- the 6 year old ended up with more holes in one than anyone else! Solid mini golf. Newer course with a good variety of holes. Not a ton of shade but the course is nice. Plus the ice cream isn't bad either.

Great place for mini-golf. Family friendly and just an overall good time. I've played all the courses around Minocqua and this is the best. My kids ages 5 and 7 love it as well. Will definitely be going back. read more

If I could give the rude owner a zero I would. It was our last night in town and the kids picked go karts, mini golf and ice cream. We had already mini golfed earlier in the trip so my husband and I thought we'd just let the kids golf. My first sign should have been watching the manager treat his employees rather curtly. One girl was putting chips outside the order window and he walked up, ripped the chips down, tossed them inside the window and told her he had ALREADY decided he only wanted three of that kind hanging. Then I noticed a .50 lost ball fee. I debated in my head all the reasons he was justified in doing that but I still felt it was a cold greeting. Finally we went to pay for mini golf and he asked what the ages were of the kids which I told him and then I said my husband was coming but only the kids would be golfing. To which he replied, "Only one walker per group so which one of you is golfing?" It was in such a rude condescending tone. Why does it matter if we want to walk? So we walked away and went down to the other mini golf which was glad to have us. It's too bad I had already bought everyone ice cream as I regret giving this guy a penny. read more
