Mau (Mauricio) was very patient with us and very instructive, Lara was sweet and helped us throughout aswell. Felicity is amazing with communication. I suggest reaching out via Whatsapp so that she can answer any questions. The sandwich they provided for lunch was delicious and filled us up before the second dive. The overall experience was great, in fact diving with Wetset makes me want to pursue a Padi cert. I highly recommend this place for anyone with or without experiencing diving.

I have dove 3x before (all over 9 years ago) and finally wanted my certificate. We decided on a…read morePADI certificate and found Aquanauts near where we stayed at Barcelo tropical. My instructor Monica was EXCEPTIONAL, out of this world amazing. My parents did a recertification and my dad (30 dives) and I are more comfortable in the water, while my mom (12 dives) is not so much. Monica was able to give us the individualized attention we needed to build on our strengths and weaknesses. My skill level went from using my air the quickest, to at the end of my certification 62 minutes (60ft max) and 74 minutes (45ft max). This was such an improvement on my relaxation, and I am really proud of. Monica was able to help me understand my buoyancy, and really really helped my mom too, no one has ever given us the time and attention like Monica did. My confidence in scuba diving skyrocketed with my certification by Monica, and so did my moms. I had so much fun doing my course, I had to sign up for another day of diving with Monica's daughter Z. And that was FUN, no more training and I got to pet a nurse shark (on my bucket list!!)! I can not recommend Monica or Aquanauts more. I will remember my time with her and my parents forever. I personally don't know how to swim and was a little apprehensive about going snorkeling, we were assigned to Mauricio, who was an absolute superstar! He took me and the little kids in the pool before hand to practice, breathing and putting our heads underwater, so that we would feel comfortable once we went out in the ocean . When we got to the ocean and jumped off the boat, it was more intense, but every step of the way Mauricio was next to me, reassuring me telling me to breathe, holding my hand and making sure that I felt safe . After a few minutes of a little bit of panicking in the water, I felt secure and confident that I could do it, and the rest of the trip I spent looking at the beautiful ocean underneath me. Such an amazing experience! So glad we did it, and especially so thankful for Mauricio!!

5/5 Highly Recommend…read more We booked two private tours with Absolute Adventures: first the Tulum Ruins, Swim with Turtles and Mexican Lunch on a Monday and then the Two Cenote and Mexican Lunch on Wednesday. For Tulum and Turtles our tour guide was Luis and our driver was Rodrigo. For the Cenotes, our tour guide was Arturo and our driver was Enrique. Both guides were exceptional and both drivers took good care of us. Booking online was simple and their communication about the tours, both confirming the tours before we left home and same day communication about pickup, was excellent. Our hotel turned out to be a headache about letting outside tour companies onto the property, and we ran into some real meet up issues because of it, but the team was super responsive and got it sorted quickly. It all worked out in the end, and honestly that kind of responsiveness under pressure told us a lot about how they run things. We started our Tulum tour early to beat the crowds and heat (highly recommend!). Luis guided us through Tulum and made sure we stayed hydrated the whole time, which matters more than people think when you're out in that heat. His knowledge of the area, the flora, the fauna, the history, was genuinely impressive, and he had this rare ability to be educational and entertaining at the same time without ever feeling like a lecture. At our turtle excursion he schlepped our gear and made sure we didn't forget anything, none of which was his job, he just did it because that's who he is. I was also practicing my broken Spanish throughout the trip, and Luis never once made me feel dumb or embarrassed when I got it wrong, which I really appreciated. For our next tour, Arturo took us to the cenotes. When he picked us up, he suggested we visit a different cenote than what we'd originally booked. I was a little skeptical, figured he just wanted a shorter drive. I was completely wrong. The cenote he picked instead allowed us to have two totally different types of experiences that we would have missed entirely otherwise, and I'm glad we trusted him. At Cenote Jaguar, Arturo gave our kids real time and space to jump and play, which ended up being a highlight of the whole trip for them. At Cenote Dos Ojos, claustrophobia was a real concern for us. But Arturo's tour through the caves was informative and calm enough that we felt genuinely safe the entire time. Between the logistics, the guides, and how they handled a hiccup that wasn't even their fault, these two tours were one of the best parts of our trip.

As one of our group who can't swim, I was very grateful for that! I was able to participate to my comfort level. Water was provided in the van and the lunch at Juanita restaurant was light, but satisfying and delicious after all the activity. Extra info: Life jackets are required and provided, but if you don't fit a standard size XL life jacket you may want to bring your own. There's not a ton of walking but you will be on a lot of uneven natural surfaces. I recommend swim shoes with grip as the bottom of the cenotes is very rocky, and flip flops are easy to lose balance on on the stairs.

Never seen so much colour under the sea before, felt so privileged especially when an inquisitive turtle swam up to have a nosy at us. On Isla Mujeres, instead of staying in the north of the island (where we docked), John was excited to rent a golf cart and so we toured the less touristic, south part the island. The north also had it's own charm, street vendors, Playa Norte (rated in the top 10 of the world's best beaches) plus it was also home to a phenomenal dulce de leche icecream, so much so I had 2 of them in about half hour

My wife is not…read morea confident snorkeller but with help from Luis and Limbert she went out into quite a rough sea to see the turtles and then snorkelled over some deep water in the cenote/caves. We both thoroughly enjoyed the half day trip and would recommend it to anyone. Limbert was a very knowledgeable guide and told us a lot about the history of Mexico on the drive down. Both were quite close to Playa Del Carmen/ Playacar so the longest drive was around thirty minutes. I got some great photos and at the end of the trip we were sent a Google Drive of the photos that Limbert had taken.
