My husband and I recently went to Sexy Roman for a date night, and while the ambiance was lovely, the overall experience didn't quite live up to the price tag. The restaurant is trendy, stylish, and undeniably cute. I especially got a kick out of the little lamps on the tables that turn red when you want a tableside martini. We aren't drinkers, but I thought it was a fun and clever touch. One thing that surprised me right away was that bread wasn't included. Instead, we were served some crunchy snacks to munch on. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I'd much rather have warm bread. It feels simpler, tastier, and more welcoming. For appetizers, we ordered the burrata and calamari. Both were tasty, but the peppers in the calamari packed a serious punch. I wish there had been a little warning about the spice level because it definitely caught me off guard. Then again, I suppose anything called "Sexy Roman" has to bring a little heat. For dinner, we shared the chicken parm and the lobster pasta. The chicken parm was decent, though I found the chicken a bit tough. The lobster pasta was flavorful and well prepared, but once again, quite spicy. At least that time we knew what we were getting into. Service was fine, but not exceptional. I was inhaling water to cool down from all the spice and had to ask for refills multiple times, which felt like an easy thing to stay ahead of. In the end, there wasn't anything terrible about the experience. The food was good, the atmosphere was fun, and the concept is unique. This review is going to be a little bit of a rollercoaster, but let me start by saying the food is delicious. The spicy vodka pasta stole the show, but the meatballs were a close second. The drinks were good and fun. Definitely do the martini cart - you get a better bang for your buck. Now to the tough part. We were on a double date with parents of a 10 month old who don't get out too much but were able to snag a babysitter for a bit and some time. We were served our drinks and appetizers in good time, but things went downhill from there. We waiting for about 40 minutes and then our waiter came over to offer us the dessert menu... before our entrees ever hit the table. Mistakes happen, but our server forgetting to put in our order meant it fell behind a massive table of 20. We waited for an hour and a half for our meal. Some of the worst food waits I've ever experienced. Hoping this is a one off and doesn't happen much! The manager did come over to apologize and help make it right. I opted to try their summer prix fix meal which was $75, including an appetizer, entree, side and dessert - which was perfect since I was wanting the chicken parm but didn't want to commit to the full size. I finally made it to the Sexy Roman for the Happy Hour I can never catch during the week. 3 to 5 pm daily works for me! Valet parking is the only option if you're bringing your car into the W Hotel where the restaurant is located. At $10, it's not bad at all. However, I think there is street parking available one the side streets. I opted for valet. On a Sunday afternoon, I went in with a fellow Elite who had also never been. We shared every dish, and were impressed to say the least. We sat right at the end of the bar and got great service right away. There were maybe 3 other parties near us. The dining room is large and there is an enclosed patio towards the back. What we ordered: * Roman Burger (comes with Parmesan Fries) 3.5/5 *Lumache Alla Vodka 5/5 *Arancini 3/5 *Roman Style Meatballs I also got the Hugo Fizz which is non-alcoholic, but let me tell you, I didn't miss the alcohol! The burger looked absolutely stunning and it came with a generous portion of their Parmesan Fries. We halved everything and I got the raw part of the burger patty. Yes I took a picture of the raw meat in my burger patty, but no I didn't post it because I don't want to gross anyone out. We ordered it medium, and although most of it was indeed as delicious as it looked, I was thrown off completely when I found the PINK meat! =/ I normally would have said something about it but a.) It's Happy Hour and I didn't wanna ruin the vibe, and b.) the burger itself tasted great when I ate the majority of the cooked part. Seeing the pink was definitely a killjoy (pun intended)! The pasta was the winner for both of us. Cooked to a perfect al dente, the burrata cheese lit up the dish! I wanted more, lol! I loved the simple flavor of the vodka sauce. The Arancini tasted alright, but the plating could use an upgrade. There was no garnish or anything. They looked very sad just sitting on a little white plate with the sauce in a ramekin. I think even putting them on a leaf of lettuce would have made it more appealing. I do love cheese, though, so it wasn't exactly a deal breaker. The Roman Style Meatballs tasted okay to me. The sauce really makes them pop. I was dipping pieces of mine into the sauce so that helped (since they had a slightly dry texture). Overall, this is a great spot for Happy Hour. The service was wonderful up until the end when we were ready for the bill. Our server was polite and very friendly but it seemed like she got really busy toward the end of our visit. We ended up having to ask for the bill. Food was fantastic and would make an excellent casual date with your s.o. or your crew. I took my husband here for his birthday. I saw some videos on TikTok and saw that they had a martini bar cart that rolls up to your table. My husband loves martini so I decided to take them here. Their happy hour is daily but ends at 5 p.m. (what the heck?!) so a weekend is the only possibility for us office workers. Located inside the W, it's valet only but the restaurant will validate your ticket. I'm anti-valet so I ended up Ubering. Ambiance (4.5/5): Sexy Roman is certainly a sexy restaurant. You'll see a lot of red, matching the romantic theme. It's an upscale Italian bar and restaurant. We sat at the bar but there's plenty of high top and table/booth seating if that's more your style. Along with a climate-controlled patio in the back. Service (4/5): Our bartender did a nice job taking care of us. She was friendly and attentive to start. That dipped toward the end where it was a little challenging to get her attention to close out. If not for the dip at the end, it would have been close to a five-star experience. Drinks (4/5): I focused on the happy hour menu because I love a good deal. Three alcoholic drinks are on the menu and I tried two of them. The first was a refreshing spritz served in a sexy glass (you'd have to see it). Talk about a unique glass. Very cool. From there, I picked up the pace with a vesper martini. Call me James Bond. A boozy cocktail, something I always appreciate. Food (4/5): Naturally, we focused on the happy hour menu for food too. A little more expensive than the drink offerings, we split the meatballs, burger and fries, arancini, and pasta. A hit and a miss. The two giant meatballs were my least favorite of the bunch. Even with the tomato sauce, they were a bit dry. Not what you expect from meatballs. The arancini, while better, was a small portion size with three small arancini. Placed alone on the plate, they seemed a little out of place. Some better plating with a sauce design or a nice garnish would've helped. Things took a turn for the better with the cheeseburger and parmesan fries. Now this was a solid portion! And a solid dish overall with pickles on the side and their homemade ketchup. The pasta took the cake though. The sauce was absolutely addicting. With some burrata cheese on top, this bucatini pasta is one of their most popular dishes. And for good reason! This place has been on our list for dinner but we noticed they had an amazing brunch menu and we were hungry and decided to go check it out. The hotel provides 10$ valet service which I was blown away by the cost because many other fancy locations charge a lot more in my area. We dropped off our vehicle then walked towards the beautiful door with the name of the restaurant illuminated. As we entered we were greeted by a beautiful wine display and a beautiful host check-in area. The place had lots of neon lights that complemented the stone and wood. We approached the bar and sat on some very comfortable barstools. The bathrooms were incredibly clean and had a very modern look. Everything was beautiful! We had the pleasure of meeting Caleb who was new to the restaurant and he gave us a rundown of the menu. He recommended a few items and was very patient with us because brunch is a ritual and can take a while to decide especially when everything looked so amazing on the menu. We finally decided on Eggs Benedict and as we were looking for other options Anthony who was extremely knowledgeable, judging by how well he knew the menu and talked about the items, was a veteran and very skilled. He went over the menu in detail and helped us narrow down our options and we chose the frittata. The eggs Benedict was a work of art and the flavors were beautiful. The eggs were perfectly poached and the sauce was better than any sauce I have had in a while. It was rich and creamy and had the perfect texture. The ciabatta that everything was on was perfectly toasted and had that beautiful char flavor. The spinach was fresh and green and still had a crunch to it. The frittata was perfectly made and was fluffy and had fresh arugula on top. It was very soft and not dry and had a perfect shape. The chef blended the flavors perfectly allowing you to taste every ingredient in it. No ingredient overpowered the other and everything was in perfect harmony to excite the taste buds. Anthony and Caleb came back to check on us and we tried their refreshing spritz that was highly recommended. While sipping on our spritz we spoke to Anthony and he gave us some fabulous ideas about where to go and things to do and we decided to go to the civic center and old town area that he recommended and it was amazing. We then asked Anthony and Caleb for a menu. We were full but the food was so good we wanted to try more and they recommended the calamari. The calamari practically made me cry. It was not oily like you get it at most restaurants and the breading was perfect it was light and fluffy and appeared to be floating like clouds on each other. It was not chewy but perfectly tender with the right amount of zesty that brought back memories of being in Sicily. We ordered some prosecco and enjoyed it as Caleb gave us some recommendations on other restaurants we should try while we were in town, which we added to our list. Calobe and Anthony were very helpful and a prime example of what makes a business prosper. Taking care of the people is not only serving food and making drinks. It is about connecting with them even beyond what the restaurant has to offer. We were so sad we were not able to go back for dinner but because of the amazing staff, we will be coming back to sexy roman again. We've been coming to Sexy Roman since it first opened, and it has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in the Valley. The food is exceptional across the board. The seafood tower is easily one of the best in Phoenix, beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. The bar program is also outstanding -- creative, theatrical without being gimmicky, and genuinely delicious. Try the Provocateur cocktail; you won't be disappointed. And if you're feeling indulgent, the caviar bump is a fun touch. The salmon tartare is another standout. The pasta dishes are fantastic. The Lumache and Cacio e Pepe are our personal favorites, and the steak was equally impressive. Even the details stand out here -- as someone admittedly picky about water, I have to mention the Filette bottled water. In the Arizona desert, great water matters, and theirs is excellent. The staff is consistently wonderful. Warm, polished, attentive, and genuinely welcoming every time we visit. Honestly, the only thing that doesn't match the quality of the experience is the name. "Sexy Roman" undersells how sophisticated and elevated this restaurant actually is. The name can make recommending it for business dinners a little awkward because people tend to get hung up on it at first. In reality, the atmosphere is tasteful, stylish, and refined, and the staff reflects that perfectly. It feels like the W was aiming for edgy branding, but the restaurant itself is far more elegant than the name suggests. That said, once people go, they absolutely love it. We came out to Sexy Roman to celebrate a belated Valentine's Day. This is the new Italian restaurant, replacing Sushi Roku inside the Scottsdale W hotel. It's beautiful with very modern vibes and best known for their traveling martini cart. On site valet is the only offered option at the hotel, but if you get it validated at the restaurant, it's reduced to $10. For the evenings, it's pretty tough to find self-parking on the street and you'll also have to walk a bit. So definitely keep that in mind. I knew the restaurant was considered to be elevated fine dining, but we did bring our kiddo to celebrate with us. There was not a kids menu, which I expected, but surprisingly, they were so sweet and brought crayons and coloring pages for him. For starters, we went with the aged provolone sticks (which tasted like fancy fried mozzarella sticks) and calamari fritto misto (a little bit heavy on the breading). For entrées, we had their famous lumache alla vodka and a perfectly prepared petite fillet with "The Glow Up" (burrata tortellini in black truffle fonduta). We had accompaniments of grilled asparagus and black truffle mac & cheese. All of these were super tasty, I can see why their lumache (snail shaped pasta) topped with creamy burrata is their most popular dish. We also had a fantastic server! The dinner was really filling in a good way, so we did not have room for dessert. For those that are gluten-sensitive, there are alternatives on the menu like fish and veal. We enjoyed dinner at the Sexy Roman for Mother's Day dinner. Valet parking was easy and $15. The restaurant is beautiful with a large bar area that was very inviting! Our server was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu and cocktails. She suggested a lemon drop martini and it was delicious, but not too seeet. We had the lumache à la vodka, the bucatini, and the chicken Parmesan for dinner. The pasta dishes were full of flavor and would order again. The chicken parm is supposed to be a highlight item, but it was bland and dry. We would not order it again. He is possibly the best waiter I have ever had and I have had a lot! 4. Our drinks were strong, but still tasted great. 5. All of the food we had was perfect. Huge shrimp in my shrimp and calamari pasta. The focaccia with tomato jam and stracciatella cheese was so fresh and vibrant. The oysters with the homemade fermented hot sauce = epic. 6. Beautiful restaurant and good vibes. Maybe there was some feng shui going on in the design because it just felt good to be there. Cons 1. Who doesn't love a sexy Roman? Meow! And at Sexy Roman, it's definitely sexy! - Half a dozen oysters with fermented hot sauce ($26): Three west coast oysters and three east coast oysters. They were tasty. The east coast oysters were briny, salty with a crisp firm texture. The west coast oysters were sweeter and creamier. Both delightful with their fermented hot sauce and their cocktail sauce. - Parmesan Fries ($14): Served with garlic aioli. It's a part of Girl Dinner. Nothing else to add. - Cacio e Pepe Bucatini ($29): Bucatini is a thick, hollow spaghetti-like pasta from Italy, named for the Italian word "buco" (hole). And this is the kind of noodle you want for a delicious cacio e pepe sauce. It doesn't get better than cheese and pepper. - Grilled Swordfish with calabrian pesto ($46): I think our grilled swordfish was cooked a little too long. It was drier, denser, and less flaky than I would have prefered but the calabrian pesto on top was delicious. - Butterscotch Budino with granola and smoked sea salt ($15): Now this is a great budino. The pistachios on top made me insanely happy. I had my dessert with some coffee and it paired nicely. The bitterness of my coffee with the sweet butterscotch budino, and the salty bite of the sea salt made for a nice medley of flavors. - Espresso Martini (vodka, espresso, gold - $23 each): A classic delicious cocktail with three, gold, coffee beans on top. These might have been the gold beans Jack traded his family's cow for in Jack and the Beanstalk. Saluti! It was a lovely meal for sure. I made a reservation at Sexy Roman for two on a Friday evening. My friend and I arrived on time and were greeted and seated promptly. The dining room has a moody, sexy vibe with an upscale feel. Each table has this cool little lamp that turns red when you press it, which signals the staff to bring over a martini cart. We were tempted by the Stiletto Espresso, but we couldn't justify the $40 price tag, so we stuck with the usual cocktail menu and went for the classic espresso martini. The martini cart is a nice touch, though especially for martini fans wanting an interactive experience. For the food, we shared the following: Half dozen oysters Swordfish Bucatini, caccio e pepe Parmesan fries Budino Latte The food was prepared well and had great flavor. Everything was enjoyable, except for the latte. Mine was very bitter. I like strong coffee, but there was something off about this one. I couldn't finish it. My friend ordered a decaf and hers was fine. I let her taste my latte and she agreed. Overall, we had a good experience, but a couple of things bugged me. In an upscale restaurant with white tablecloths, I expect the staff to clear away crumbs and keep the table tidy. Any crumbs stand out on a white tablecloth. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but our table was left messy after the appetizers (complimentary breadsticks and crackers), and nobody bothered to clean it up, even after they cleared the old plates and brought new ones. It only got messier with each course. We're not even messy eaters, but crumbs do accumulate, and food occasionally falls. Plus, our dinner lasted two and a half hours. What a delightful experience! We were there to celebrate my sister's birthday and she was greeted with a personal birthday card from the Sexy Roman staff at our table! The martini cart was awesome and such a throwback! We all had the caviar lick which was a really cool way to enjoy caviar. Try it!!!The wine list is extensive and superb. We ordered several appetizers, along with pasta dishes for the table to share. All equally delicious. I ordered the lasagna which was surprisingly light and tasty. Others ordered the chicken parmigiana, the swordfish etc....and seriously...every dish was excellent. We ended with Limoncello and 4 desserts to share amongst the table. We are all from out of town (me personally, I'm from Miami). Needless to say, my expectations for "fine dining" are appropriate and this place met NONE OF MY STANDARDS. The decor was beautiful. I loved the live DJ. And the drinks were great. However, the server and his terrible attitude. Cesar was extremely rude. Myself, the birthday girl and another person was unhappy with their food. We were sure to make him aware, within 4 minutes of food being delivered to the table. However he made no effort to make it right, substitute anything, or even TRY. He cut us off while explaining what we didn't like, and didn't even listen. Although it was late, this was a terrible example of service. As far as our dishes, we loved the NY strip with bernaise. But hated the burrata tortellini, and asked for mac and cheese instead. He took the tortellini off (which was reflected in the tab) but just went about it extremely unprofessional. Don't get me wrong, the restaurant is 100% a place to see and be seen, but considering all the other options you have in the Valley, I don't think the food quality stands up to the price tag. The good: the martini cart red light button is fun. There are several martinis you can choose from, and all of the ones my group tried were delicious. The calamari appetizer was also stellar. Very tender, not greasy and super flavorful. The meh: we were told many times that the signature dishes that we had to order the meatball appetizer, vodka pasta and chicken Parmesan. The meatballs were the most underwhelming; very soft (almost mushy) and needed more salt and sauce. The vodka pasta and chicken parm were good, but not anything special that I would ever crave them or think to order them again. With all that said, service was a little slow but expected for this ambiance so it wasn't bothersome. The servers and staff themselves were all very lovely, so I'd give them 5 stars there. But for an almost $600 bill (2 martinis each plus food for 3 people) we're not clawing to come back for mostly "fine" food. read more

We had the best time at Sexy Roman! So happy they now offer happy hour from 3-5pm, we made a reservation a few weeks in advance since this place is pretty popular. The dining room opens at 5pm, but the bar is open for happy hour. Kelly our server was the absolute best, she provided amazing service, crafted some bomb drinks, and gave amazing recommendations. I loved the vodka pasta and the portion on the happy hour menu was perfect for someone who wants to try a little bit of everything. The Caesar salad on HH was also delicious and perfect portion. This is an outstanding restaurant. Sexy Roman offers supper club atmosphere with dramatic decor and a modern, maximalist design. Beautifully energetic, large bar anchors the room, and martini service is offered via a fun, tableside cart. Our server Cesar was fantastic. I'm plant based so sometimes is difficult but he made it easy for me to get delicious plant based meal. Honestly, I expected much less from Sexy Roman than she delivered. This was a lovely surprise: a beautiful room with well considered design, probably the best service we experienced on this trip to Scottsdale and a generously portioned and utterly delicious plate of food with equally great (and customized to suit) cocktails. The breakfast was on par with those at Tableau or La Fontaine in Vegas, which puts it in pretty rarified air for this reviewer. The shame of it all was that Sexy Roman's breakfast custom seemed to mostly be wheeler-dealer business types on their laptops and phones between backslapping one another. The venue merits more enjoyment of the experience. No, we didn't go for supper - my Italian food snobbery kept me from sticking my neck out to try it. However the brunch experience was so noteworthy that I'm pretty sure we'll be here for a dinner on our next trip to the area. read more

I dressed up in my finest linens to attend a birthday celebration for one of my friends who was visiting from the east coast. We came to Sexy Roman for dinner in Scottsdale and it ended up being one of those meals where every dish just hits right. We started with wine and some cocktails of course. The birthday girl had several strawberry lemon drops and I had a wonderful red wine that our sever John suggested. We ordered the calamari fritto misto, and it arrived golden and perfectly crisp. Each bite had that light, delicate crunch you hope for with fried calamari --- never heavy or greasy. The seafood tasted fresh and tender inside of the crisp coating, and it disappeared from the table pretty quickly The real standout was the burrata-stuffed tortellini with short rib ragu. The tortellini were soft and delicate, and when you cut into them the creamy burrata filing made the whole dish feel incredibly rich and comforting. The short rib ragu was deeply savory with that slow-braised flavor that feels like it's been simmering for hours. It's the kind of dish where you slow down for a second after the first bite because it's just that good. Between the lively somehow and well-executed dishes, Sexy Roman definitely lives up to its name. If you're deciding what to order, the calamari fritto misto and the burrata tortellini short rib ragu are absolutely worth it. read more

We are staying at the W and we came here for lunch. My partner didn't have much time, he had to leave for a work thing. The service was good and staff was friendly. My partner had the chicken parm but no spaghetti just the chicken and sauce. I forgot to take a Pic. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. My partner liked his dish but I didn't care for mine at all. I thought it was a little too salty for me. I would not recommend the spaghetti and meatballs. They didn't have any type of hot sauce, which i was sad. The parm fries were delicious, very crispy fries, the sauce was good. The ketchup had a little kick to which made it delicious. The just opened it for lunch so it was super relaxing and chill. I may go back again if we stay at the W. I would try something else. I would say go and check it out yourself. Everyone's taste buds are different. read more

Really beautiful restaurant! Would be great for an upscale event or fancy dinner. They had a wide variety of drink options and a cool cart they bring around to make different cocktails. The menu is upscale Italian food, and the servers do a great job at explaining all the favorite items on the menu. Fair warning the pasta dishes are not entree size but entree priced, this worked fine for our group but most people would need to order something additional to not be hungry. The Burrata stuffed tortellini was full of flavor. I felt like the short rib ragu was too bold of a flavor against the pasta but still tasted good! The restaurant is beautiful, the service impeccable, and the prices match. Now I'm from NYC so I'm used to expensive restaurants, but normally the food matches. We started with a pasta dish. I had the fettuccine with lobster. This was very good. I would highly recommend it. However, their main courses are large, way too large and very expensive. I paid $67 for chicken Parmesan. The size is huge. The taste is not. I was told it was the best and very popular by the waitress and that is why I ordered it. This was not very good and do not recommend it. I would rather cook it for you myself so you can have something delicious and I'll do it for free because the ingredients are not expensive. I will not be back. read more

Date night vibes, attentive staff, good food. Tables are close together and the lighting is dim. It sets a nice tone for all the couples celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. The restaurant is just off the lobby of the W hotel but feels more sophisticated and less like the club scene that the W brand usually has. The place was busy, even on Sunday evening in the summer, so reservations prob a good idea. We tried a few things, everything good. My fave from the evening was the smoky tomato jam that comes with the crackers and bread sticks that come to the table for pre-order nibbles. Octopus- a single tentacle- was perfectly cooked, tender and grilled, served with white bean puree- another winner. Tricolore salad, provolone cheese sticks with marinara, and cacio e pepe pasta were all good. Well prepared and presented. Worth checking out if you are staying at the hotel. read more

A really tasty experience and date night for myself and my husband! I would say a solid 4.5 stars but rounding up since it's new and the ambiance is great. Sexy Roman is definitely what I would consider as an upscale celebration restaurant with impeccable service and a beautiful ambiance inside the W Hotel. I was so excited to try the food since I saw photos of their handmade pastas beforehand. To start, they bring out some flatbread crackers and cheese sticks with tomato jam as a complimentary appetizer. We also ordered the calamari, tricolore salad, and tomato and rosemary focaccia. The prices are a little steep on these but everything was tasty. I wished the calamari had more calamari vs the vegetables but it was still good. The salad was solid and basic and the focaccia was fantastic and served with straciatella and tomato jam. For pasta we ordered the lumache alla vodka and "the glow up" addition to my steak. The pastas were incredible and I would go back just for those. For entrees we ordered the chicken Parmesan and the ribeye cap. I would probably order the chicken Parmesan over the steak next time. The chicken was an enormous portion that could easily feed 2 people. We also ordered the grilled asparagus which was basic and cooked well. Lastly, for dessert we ordered the homemade gelato. The white chocolate coffee flavor was excellent but my Biscoff Cookie dough was not what I was expecting --it didn't really taste like biscoff. Overall, Sexy Roman was a fun celebratory restaurant that doesn't feel stuffy but still has a lovely ambiance and top tier staff. The music selection was great and not too loud. The prices are on the higher side but some items were more worth it than others. The biggest bummer of the evening was that the staff forgot to give us our leftover calamari! read more

The chocolate cake is super rich so I kept enjoying it a few bits each time. Hotel restaurants often prioritize style over substance, but Sexy Roman has both in abundance. The new Italian eatery in the W Scottsdale is bustling every time I go, and for good reason. I haven't had a bad item on the menu. My favorites are the cosmopolitan and the espresso martini, the burrata appetizer, the meatballs and the agnolotti with leek, ricotta and black truffle. It's definitely a place to see and be seen, and popular with the Scottsdale crowd (and influencers). Expect a lot of ring lights. My one quibble is that service can be slow, and not because the restaurant is busy. Sometimes it seems like our server just disappears. As long as you're not in a hurry, just relax and enjoy the scene. read more

11/10 would dine again. Was a bit baffled when we were sat and were the only table in the restaurant at the ungodly hour of 6pm. Might as well have been the early bird special. Jon S was our server. The man knew everything there was to know about the menu. Knew when to be attentive and present and knew when to let us be. Even cleaned my place for me as I made a mess after every plate. The food was outstanding - apps, mains and the desserts were phenomenal. The dessert alone was enough to write this review. The chocolate tort is top 3 best desserts I have had, and I was a former fat kid. This will be a must eat at restaurant for the future. Sexy Roman is Italian, classic, but elegant. That's what the server describes it. It's elevated alright. There are great attributes and some just ok. I have a higher bar for this place given its fine dining, price point, and location. Let's start with the pluses. Service 10/10. Top notch, attentive, responsive, and friendly. So the stars lost is not for the service, in fact the service is what saves this place. The decore and atmosphere, superb. Intimate, elegant, and romantic. Not loud. Perfect for date night. So huge credit to the front of the house. Unfortunately, the food a bit lacking and for the price point, it's a let down. Otherwise, this place has so much potential. I feel they tried to "elevate" the classic Italian into fine dining so much, they lost the heart of what makes Italian good. The Caesar salad, they use Endive instead of Romain. So there are no light and airy flavors of the Romain. The dressing and taste is not bad. The pastas...it's ok. They are sooooooo heavy. The cacio e pepe is slathered in thick cream. I feel like it's just eating pasta with heavy cream and melted cheese. Not sure why they do that and change up what a simple cacio a Pepe is supposed to be. It also very salty. The server highly recommend adding white truffles ($100). I took his advice. Unfortunately, the cream is so heavy that it drowned out the truffles completely. The other pasta is the vodka pasta. Never had vodka infused pasta, but it's the same story. Drowned in cream and incredibly heavy. The focaccia bread with the burrata cheese is really good. A must go and must make a reservation on the weekends otherwise you will be waiting a long time to eat. A great spot for date night, birthday celebrations or girls night.
