The parking lot gets icy in winter - it's uneven and on the shady side of Burnaby mountain. Overflow parking is across the Barnet highway. As of Fall 2017: There is new flooring installed to replace the old tile system. The lines are much cleaner and there are no gaps between the tiles to get stuck on or scratched while diving. The parking lot also has LED lights now and is much brighter than before.

It is located right under SFU, off of the Barnet Hwy It's kind of crazy to see volleyball being played in the inner part of the oval while bike racers whizz around the outside. We received the last few passes to attend the class and rushed upstairs to attend. Our instructor waited a few minutes for everyone to get settled before beginning the class and just like that we were off. As one song became another and the sweat started flowing it was apparent that our instructor really enjoyed the music and leading the class. It certainly didn't come naturally to me but in this case I think it's all about the rhythm, enjoyment and exercise. I would absolutely return for another class here. The yearly pass cost $527 which includes the pool but too bad the new pool is not open until later. However, this pass does allow you to use other fitness facilities in other community centers. The gym is open from 7am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on weekends. I wish the hours are longer but I think they will once the pool is open.

One of the parks that we stumbled upon was Blue Mountain Park. We mainly look for a playground, so my son can go run around and play until he's exhausted. This park offers: an outdoor wading pool (for those hot summer days), tennis courts, sports fields, softball field, covered picnic area, a playground for the kids (why don't they have one for adults), and spray park (woohoo!). By the kids playground, they have an unusual bronze statue of a horse and buggy that is pretty fun for the kids to ride on. This playground has something for all age groups from toddlers to kids. There is also a paved bike trail around the playground area, so you can also bring you kid's bikes as well. This is a great park to host a picnic (when there is no snow of course...) or to play a game. Definitely a must for families if you're in the area.

Spring came, 'sprung', and viewings of changes - especially within the gardens - have been so interesting, and enjoyable to see and capture. A well-kept, and such a lovely spot in the neighbourhood, to stop by for an outside look!!
