As we walk the waking "dream," that we call the reality of our individual lives and existence we encounter many experiences along the way . Many of our paths take us through suffering each and every day. It is these small features that when we overcome we can further understand life and reach our potential. Always remember to never dwell on the suffering of an event. Certain challenges will arise. When we overcome these obstacles we can analyze and self reflect. For dreams are meant to happen and be fulfilled with purpose using positivity. When we are ready to face our own challenges we must step outside of ourselves. We must learn to accept that which life manages to give us . Let's take this opportunity to take life and its actions as they come. As an American citizen during my lifelong journey and struggle the Buddhist path has always drawn my attention. It's the most profound understanding of how to explain the life cycle of humanity. On this same note, death; is a natural phenomenon and not the end. When someone passes on it's a transition of your consciousness to another place of existence. While we may not be able to explain this path it is the realization that you must live for now. You need to make sure and keep yourself aware of how your mind and body coexist. So life is suffering. We awake each and every day to a new day. We have new opportunities and events to explore. Lately pain, strife, anxiety exist in my heart. Looking deep inside I will find my happy. Although this is a struggle to overcome this moment in your life you will come out stronger and more confident. Carry yourself and continue the good fight. Life is pain and a struggle, so is it worth it? This has to be a private matter and decision to continue. Keep positivity and joy in your heart and mind. Give kindness freely and you will be able to rise to all the challenges that come your way . After all that I have faced over a lifetime of suffering and pain we are going to make all the best of it happen with beauty and grace for all. Here we go . I visited the Nichiren Buddhist Kannon Temple in Vegas in mid Oct. 2017. It was two weeks after…read morethe mass shooting that happened. Rev. Kanai picked me up from my hotel. I knew him when he used to be the reverend at the Seattle Nichiren Buddhist Church. He is very friendly and welcoming. He served some Japanese Tea and Sembei or rice crackers. Then he gave me a bottle of water and sembei to take with me. He also gave me a short blessing and handed me a blessing lotus card with the invocation, "Namu Myoho Renge Kyo." This invocation is also used by the Sokkai Gakkai Sect or NSA, which uses the beliefs of St. Nichiren as well. Tina Turner is a member of Sokkai Gakkai. Sokkai Gakkai was founded in 1930. However, the Nichiren Shu Church I was raised in is the original old school religion that rooted from Japan. The founder is St. Nichiren who lived from Feb. 1222 to Oct. 13, 1282. The Head Temple I've been to is the Ikegami Honwanji Temple in Tokyo. So this sect follows the Lotus Sutra. There are many sects of Buddhism. It's very complicated. Within the Nichiren Sect there are many sub-groups, mainly in Japan, that stemmed in the 20th Century. Only a small part of the prayers are translated in English. So many of the 3rd generation Japanese Americans have left the Church and decided to go to more popular Asian Christian Churches or not go to any Church at all. If you are interested in getting married in Vegas, or just visit to get a Blessing, at this Temple, please call Rev. Kanai. It's a small chapel area (Fits maybe 30 people) and there's a small room for a potluck. His son, Douglas Kanai also became a priest. They have office hours every day. There is morning service at around 10:30 am on Sundays too. But call to get the schedule or just drop by in the afternoons or mornings from 10 am until 4 pm. You will be Welcomed!

There was a celebration ceremony, watching a Korean traditional dance performance, singing together, praying for Buddha followed by temple meals. They were all made of veggies of course and yet so scrumptious! After the event, we got to get some fruits and Korean foods for free! What a nice day it was. The place is about 3k ft in the house on 1/2 ac lot. Inviting and warm atmosphere. The head monk was so friendly and made me feel comfortable I like I visited somebody's home. Anybody is welcome. I will be back for their meditation day which occurs every first Sunday of the month as I am looking for peace in my mind. Before attending in person, I spent several weekends watching services online to get a feel for the church. The first time I walked through the doors, I knew something was different. During the opening prayer, I found myself in tears because it felt like God had been waiting for me all along. It was one of those moments that reminded me exactly where I needed to be. The people here have been incredibly welcoming and kind. I especially enjoy Pastor Jabin's messages--he does a wonderful job of teaching God's Word while bringing humor, wisdom, and authenticity to every sermon. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping people grow in their faith. The new facility is beautiful, and I love the flexibility of having services on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. As a parent, one of the things I appreciate most is the children's ministry. My 2-year-old attends the toddler room, and the staff there are so warm, friendly, and caring. He genuinely enjoys being there every week. I also appreciate the church's commitment to safety. With security present, bag checks, and dedicated volunteers monitoring the children's areas, it gives me peace of mind. In a world where churches unfortunately have to think about these things, I'm grateful to be able to focus on worship and God's Word knowing that safety is a priority. This past weekend's guest speaker shared a message about the phases of faith and how Jesus has always been a miracle-working God. One statement that really stayed with me was the reminder that if Jesus did it once, He can do it again. There are so many people praying for miracles right now, and just as many people who have the opportunity to be a miracle in someone else's life. It was a powerful and encouraging message. The worship team is also incredible. The singers, musicians, production team, and visual elements create an atmosphere that is engaging, uplifting, and focused on worship. Every week I leave feeling encouraged and closer to God. I also wanted to address some of the negative reviews regarding tithing. I attended Pastor Jabin's sermon on the topic, and I thought he explained it very well. He clearly stated that if someone is choosing between feeding their family and giving to the church, they should always feed their family. He specifically discouraged people from using credit cards or giving money they don't have. What I heard was a biblical teaching on generosity, not pressure or manipulation. He consistently encourages people to give as they feel led. The reality is that every church relies on the generosity of its congregation to operate and serve its community. City Lights provides so much through its ministries, services, and outreach, and I personally never felt pressured to give. I'm incredibly grateful for this church and the role it has played in helping me rebuild and strengthen my relationship with Christ. After years of searching, I am happy to call City Lights my church home. Thank you, City Lights Church.

These are not abstract figures. They represent real people finding direction, healing, and a path forward. The space matters. Before City Light Church, the location was Sierra Vista High School. Classrooms, the cafeteria, and the theater were transformed into rooms for worship, prayer, and community. The team did not wait for a perfect building. They created a spiritual home from what they had. This says a lot about their mission. They serve the Lord now, not later. The campus holds 10 acres. There is room to breathe, reflect, and grow. You feel safe to bring your whole self. You feel seen. You feel a sense of purpose. If you have frustration or confusion from other churches, this space feels different. The messages speak to everyday life. The pastors address emotions you might not talk about elsewhere. Loss. Burnout. Identity. Calling. They make faith relatable, like Elisha training the next generation with clarity and conviction. City Light Church is not built for perfection. It is built for transformation.
