Column two are the different meats. The server showed us the small card display to select from the list. Pay no attention to whether it says lunch or dinner. Column three are all the sides you serve yourself like a buffet. There is a charge for getting or ordering more than you could finish. The cords for each burner is zip tied to the table legs plugged into electrical outlets on the floor. The soup base was delivered to each station. The meats were delivered all at once. We tried each of the meats to taste before we picked our favorites. I ordered the lamb leg meat again. The selection at the buffet is quite extensive. There are various seafood and veggies to decide. Make your own concoction of sauces at either end of the buffet. I made my usual shabu ponzu sauce with radish and garlic. All I could say is come early to beat the dinner rush. read more

This is my first all you can eat hot pot! And I'm very impressed. I get the impression this is more of a Korean run hotpot which was different than the a la cart Chinese ones I've been to. The cuts of meat were amazing. I'm partial to fattier cuts because it doesn't dry out as fast. I personally chose the Mala spicy and it wasn't too spicy for me. The dipping sauces were different than the ones I'm used to but still very good. Especially the home made chili sauce. The service was very nice and they were very attentive. This is the first time I've been to hot pot and they don't have hype music going on. Whenever I go to ayce, it's like rave/dubstep concert while I'm trying to eat. This is a Korean AYCE hot pot/shabu shabu place. Very clean, sauces are not watered down and a good list of broth to choose from, either for lunch or dinner menu. When it comes to their meat selection only draw back they don't have chicken option for those who doesn't eat beef or pork but you can opt for their Baja fish fillets. The thickness of the meat is better than most AYCE hotpot because they're not thin as a deli meat, which is great. They have fruits in season to finish your experience and some side dish - macaroni salad, salad, California sushi etc. Aside from the buffet variety of veggies, noodles, etc. We will miss this place esp we moved back to OC. But if we are around the area I would definitely go here instead of boiling point, which is across the street or the other place that's been trending on social media I find that place overrated. Selection of meat was good, but some cuts were not as good as you would expect, especially wagyu options. I think it might be how thin the slices are here. Most places slice the meat thin, but here, it was hard to grab the meat from the service plate to the hot pot without tearing so most pieces of meat were in small pieces. The broths didn't have much flavor either. We tried the miso and the shrimp. Worked out well for me since this was all you can eat and I didn't bother having any broth other than to cook my meat. Less broth in belly, means I can try more meat and seafood. 3 stars. The seafood and veggies were the stand outs for me. Sure, the seafood is of the frozen variety like most places, but the shrimp and crab were a bit larger than most place and enough of a difference for me. Same with the clams and mussels. Some places the seafood is so small, I don't even bother. 4 stars. Now on to the sauces. The goma was different a bit more peanut tasting than most. Was fine for me once I mixed in their spicy sauce, but my GF didn't care for it. The ponzu was good and so was their house sauce which tasted like ponzu all doctored up. They had a few spicy sauces that made it interesting enough to put it on the good side for me. The hard part was some of the items that i like to add to my broth were at the sauce station and not at the table, like the chili powder and chili oil. I don't want to be that guy that takes the only bottle to my table so i didn't bother. 3 stars. Finally the service. We were here for an early dinner during a weekday. Wasn't very busy, so service should have been more attentive, but we may have caught them short handed as they seemed to be prepping for the larger crowds to come by getting tables and condiments set up. Wasn't bad but far from good. 3 stars. Final kicker. The main menu and the table menu does not match. I guess because the meat options can change from day to day. How the hell am I supposed to know that? When I tried to order from the main menu, I was quickly corrected and referred me to the "tent" menu on the table. At least the numbering could be aligned with the missing items excluded form the table version, but no, it's all new sequence so I was struggling to figure out which ones I had planned to order when I was handed the main menu and later on when I re-ordered more meat. I was excited to try to this Korean owned AYCE shabu spot! I've had Shabuya in La Mirada & West Covina and also Bon Shabu in K town. Overall I still feel those are a bit better for different reasons, but I will rate Shabu Lin 4 stars due to the close distance to where I live and I can now have Shabu anytime I want. On weekends is dinner price all day. So after tax and tips it was about $30/pp. I got the bone broth and my husband got the sukiyaki. I really enjoyed the Sukiyaki broth a lot, wheras the bone broth definitely needed more salt. Their house dipping sauce is delicious and so is the Goma sauce. We tried most of the proteins, and I feel some are a bit chewy. Therefore, pork belly and premium brisket with some fat on it is actually better. I feel their best section is actually all the varieties of veggies and noodles. Hence I want to come back and try the vegetarian option. I didn't touch the seafood at all because I'm too lazy to peel the hot (temperature) shrimps. The chap chae glass noodles was the best part of the hot food section. We visited on a recent early Sunday lunch. Overall a great addition to the neighborhood. The restaurant is clean however there was no toilet paper in the women's bathroom, so check your stall first. We came here yesterday on a Saturday at 8 PM. My friends really wanted to go here since it's been quite a while and we all took about a 20 min drive to get here. The restaurant was about 75% filled. Before we were to be seated, a server approached us and said that last call would be 8:30 PM. It took several minutes before someone in the restaurant came up to us. Closing time was listed at 9:30PM. It's understandable if you give customers a 20 min or 30 min last call before closing, but in all my years of going to restaurants, I've never seen a restaurant that had a last call 1 hour before closing. It was simply him telling us that they wanted to be done early and not serve any tables anymore. They should instead really list the restaurant as being closed by 8:30 PM or 9 PM if that's the case. Also, it's a Shabu Shabu/Hot pot place and it's not like they have to take a ton of time to prepare the meats other than cutting them if they're fresh to serve the tables. We ended up going to All That Shabu in Alhambra instead. The food was decent and they're cheaper there with refillable drinks included in their price. Sadly this place isn't as good as the other but still a decent place to eat shabu shabu. It is still pretty new so I'll excuse the spotty service we received Saturday night. Seems to be one host and one server for the whole restaurant. Took us a while to order more meat or even get the check. The price is pretty steep here as well compared to other places, but there is a large variety of seafood & veggies to choose from. I ordered the pork bone broth and it was majorly lacking in flavor, it was a very mild tasting broth. I would say the meat quality is not as good here, it was tough and chewy. Mildly disappointed in the service in my 2nd visit. I had been here back in March 2019 and the customer service was superb. This time it was a bit lacking. FOOD In my 1st visit, the staff had let me change my soup base free of charge because their house special was too strong for me. The soup I changed to pork bone broth was bland. In my recent visit, I decided to come again with my friends to give them a 2nd chance and see if they've improved their soup bases. I ordered the pork bone broth again and it was better. I added some jalapeños and seafood first to make sure it tasted the way I like it. Meat choices were standard like other places. Their lamb slices were very thick, while I prefer thinner slices. Not a deal breaker, but you'll get full quicker. Buffet food choices are limited compared to some other places, but still doable. If you don't like waiting in line, this place isn't a bad runner up compared to other places. Their seafood choices were abundant, with really big crawfishes. Vegetable choices could have improved a bit. There were only napa, spinach and bok choy. I was hoping to see some tong ho (crown daisies). They did have a lot more non-hotpot dishes like fried rice, rice cakes, fried chicken, soy sauce eggs, soba noodles, California rolls, and pasta. Bonus: ice cream at the end. SERVICE I was a little irritated because it was hard trying to get the 3 staff to pay attention to us, and we were only 1 of 3 parties in the restaurant. They also didn't pick up our used dishes. We had purposely placed them on the table side where they put our meat so they can see them and instead of picking them up, they just put the meat slices in the center. I had to ask for them to pick it up. I didn't ask after that and just made do with what we could with the space. I could understand if they make the argument that they thought we were still eating off it it, but it was clearly piled up with seafood shells leftovers. Most other restaurants would also ask if they can clear the dishes too. WILL I COME BACK? Unfortunately not anymore. For the price I paid, I was hoping for better service, even in a 626 area. I was disappointed because I had received such great service in my 1st visit that I wasn't expecting to having to keep my hand raised longer than needed to get the staff's attention. Came here with my family for dinner on a rainy night, and boy did it cure away the rainy day blues! We were looking for hot pot, and this place so happened to pop up in our search, so we decided on giving it a try- I mean, who can hate AYCE unlimited hot pot goodness? Finding parking was easy- there are lots of spots up and down the street in front of the businesses, and we managed to snag one less than a block away. Once we got inside the place, we were immediately greeted with a distinct fresh seafood smell- a good sign in my books of what was coming for us that night. We were promptly seated by courteous staff, who gave us a brief, straightforward explanation of how their AYCE worked. We then ordered our broths- I got their house special shrimp broth- and first orders of meat Once that was out of the way, my family was out perusing the vast array of hot pot food offerings faster than you could say "We love AYCE hot pot!" The food and condiment selections were ENORMOUS. All your hot-potable seafood, carbs, and veggies were neatly laid out in a long self-serve bar, and there was no one to stop us from getting however much we wanted! On top of that, there were enough condiments to complement the food, and even a section filled with hot Korean side dishes to make the experience that much better! As mentioned earlier, it is all self-service, with large metal plates available for you to carry as much back per trip from the food and condiments bar. Once seated, and until the end, it was a feast to behold. We ordered every meat on the menu at least once, and each plate never disappointed us at the slightest. I loved the wagyu eye of round and chuck eye steak the most. The eye of round was pure, lean meaty goodness, and the chuck eye steak had a perfect fattiness to it that melted in my mouth with each bite! As for the self-serve food bar, there was too much I got to describe- I HIGHLY recommend getting all the seafood, the spicy sausage, king oyster mushroom, bok choy, quail egg, fresh tteokbokki and japchae to try! All throughout, the staff was attentive to our requests for more meat and were prompt when we needed something like extra napkins or water. All around, it was probably one of the better, if not the best, AYCE hot pot experience I've had! For a decent price of $30 per person, my entire family got their bellies full of hot pot goodness and a new place to enjoy again in the future. The only negative I can see happening is when this place catches on with more people and it becomes increasingly crowded over time, but having experienced it before the hype train's arrival, Shabu Lin has certainly "AYCEd" my expectations! read more

I've missed Shabu Lin so much! Came here on a Sunday around 5pm for an early dinner (hoping to avoid any crowd this place may have pre-pandemic) Luckily, there wasn't a wait but there were a few tables inside. Every other booth were taken and big parties (5+) were sat staggered on the left side of the restaurant. No more buffet style, BUT like the meat, you can order anything on the menu and as much as you want! The menu now includes veggie and seafood section. Meat quality is still as good as I remembered it! And they still give out ice cream at the end :) No one sat next to us throughout our entire meal. Kicking off November with hot pot, my girlfriend and I stopped by Shabu Lin and it definitely hit the spot. We went on a Sunday night and it had a 40 minute wait due to the fact that while they have outdoor seating, they only had five tables out. This wasn't too bad as it gave us time to explore downtown Arcadia. When we came back from our walk we were promptly seated and ordered five minutes later. The server was attentive and the food was fresh. A big bonus was that it's all you can eat so you can try the different cut of meats and focus on what you really like. The server actually recommended that we place a big order in beginning so we wouldn't have to constantly reorder. I ordered the Pork Bone Broth which was very flavorful. It automatically comes with a dish of vegetables which included Napa cabbage, onions, emoji mushrooms among other things (the menu has a breakdown). The only thing it didn't include was seafood like baby octopus but that can be requested during ordering. I highly recommend the number 2 - Prime Top Blade, 5 - Lamb Leg, and 6 - Angus Chuck Roll. We were seated at 8:30 and the restaurant closed at 10pm with last call was at 9:30 so we only had an hour to figure out what we like. It was a bit rushed but it was understandable and the server gave us ample time and opportunity to refill. Other food options included udon and ramen if you want some carbs with all the meat. First time and last time dining at Shabu Lin. Quality of food are not at your best. The fish balls have a fishy smell. Lack of choices. Low quality of ingredients. Super thin and tasteless meat. Soup are super salty. Sauces are tasteless. Came here for lunch Thanksgiving with friends. Charged with dinner price tag. They only give you one large silver plate to collect raw ingredients. Buffet style. They assume it's totally fine to bring your own plate back and forth. What a terrible idea especially when covid is still living among us? Definitely don't feel comfortable bringing back my plate to the buffet bar. Or other customers bringing back their plate and contaminate the raw food on their plates! Yuck! Hello! Lunch time on the weekends are served as "dinner" on the menu, so there are more options for the higher price. The quality of all the beef is very good. The slices are thin and they cook very fast. The beef options that you only have for "dinner" are leaner than the 6-9 meats. All my friends liked the beef with the fat (7), but I liked the leaner meats with a little marbling (1-3). All the sauces ponzu, sesame, satay, complementes everything. The bowl of broth that boils in front of you is deep so you may lose some things at the bottom but you'll find it eventually. This place is a real gem. Considering that most meals in restaurants today costs upwards of $20, this place offers you yummy all you can eat hot pot for a little over that. Why wouldn't you do this? I actually come here often. Other than the great value, the food is great. A good selection, good soup bases to choose from, you get you own pot, relatively good service, this place is value at its best. My favorite meal is their #3 dinner chuck. Very good balance of marbling and meat, but really, everything on the menu is pretty good, just a matter of preference. One thing I find weird is, during lunch time, this place always plays cheesy lounge music (and I like lounge music, but what they play here I can only describe as cheesy). Dinner, however, they crank up k-pop. If it wasn't for the food, I'd probably fall asleep during lunch visits. This place is criminally underrated. We ordered 4 types of meat and server said that the order would be doubled. The meat quality were good. The soup bases (pork bone, miso, and house special) were flavorful. The selection of items (seafood, vegetables, hot food) were not as much as those offered at other "chained" hot pot restaurants. While there were 2 servers that day, it took a while to get their attention when trying to order meat. Also, when paying by credit card, the tip is on the hand held device. It kind of put you on the spot for the tip amount with the server holding it as you choose and sign off. Please read the prices for kids carefully as in increases with the age. Didn't appreciate the marketing gimmick here. While meats and broths were good, we can get better value for our money elsewhere. read more

I really like this place. It's kind of a bit of a drive for me but it's really good. All you can eat toppings and meat. When I go (+1) the tab is somewhere around 75-80 bucks. No specialty drinks. We just get water. They have a good selection of stocks to pick. I haven't picked a stock I didn't like. The waiters take your meat order. And you get your veggies, noddles to add to the stock. They come around every so often so you can order more meat, or more water. But they'll leave you alone for the most part. The times I have gone it does not get too crowded. Very nice and quite. It's not very kid friendly so if you have children on strollers you might not want to come here. This is very much for adults or teenagers as it require you to essentially cook your own food.
