My first time here with my friend Tacsion and I can't wait to come back! I didn't get a picture of my beet salad that was truly all beets!!! Kevin and all the staff had smiles and that's a wine. We sat outside with this fire and I was warm n cozy I could have stayed all night. I need a membership just for the salad! Go and enjoy!

I've lived in the area for 45 years, never knew this winery existed. You really do feel like you are in Napa. Phenomenal service, very attentive with a really pleasant vibe. Food was perfect.

WHY WE WENT HERE: - wine tasting and lunch THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - like some of the cars before us, we passed by the establishment (gated) before going to a neighbor's house to make a u-turn - the grounds are a nice sized lot for the vineyard THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - cozy; HGTV vibes to me THE (FOOD) MENU: - shareables to start - cheese/charcuterie - mains - wagyu experience - sides - house made desserts - coffee - Saturday special THE (DRINK) MENU: - wines/beers - the tasting flights WHAT WE ORDERED: - brussels sprouts fried - citrus salad - Duck confit - chicken parm - French fries - Diablo Flight - Winemakers Flight THE TASTE: - everything was good; however, the duck and chicken parm were overfried CUSTOMER SERVICE: - my friend made the reservation days prior for the 1st available appointment; we were slightly late but they were just opening so it was fine; plus it wasn't peak season - we get to the gate and inform the speaker that we have an appointment and the gate before being buzzed in (gate opened) for us to enter and park - whoever our server was gave us a great history lesson and flavor profile information

Everything was lovely. We did a wine tasting and tried their table side truffle Alfredo pasta. It was a meal I think about a lot. Can't wait to return!

Truly a hidden gem right under our nose. First time at a winery and it was beautiful. Went on an evening night , can't wait to try again during the day or summer. Everything was delicious! I loved the chicken parm. Tim, the owner was very sweet and so attentive to us. Beautiful spot.

This place is a hidden gem gated entry parking is limited so be prepared. Lots of outdoor seating with plenty of heating lamps to keep you warm during the cold season inside beautiful decor. Open in airy great for a group or just a date we enjoyed the flight tasting and the fantastic french fries. the service was phenomenal. We were given the breakdown of each glass of wine the type of grapes in the blends that went into making the wine we had reservations for dinner somewhere else so did not get a chance to enjoy the food on the menu, but there are some great options. I will be back to enjoy the menu and more tastings thank you Shadowbrook for an early birthday celebration

Shadowbrook Winery is truly a hidden gem in Walnut Creek. Every time we come here, it feels like we're right in Napa. My wife and I have been club members for less than a year, and we've loved every wine, every dinner, and every experience so far. Tonight was a last-minute decision to stop in for dinner, and I'm glad we did. Once again, they didn't disappoint great wine, great food, and an even better experience because of our server, Cinder (I hope I'm spelling that right). Shadowbrook, you really found a star with her. Don't let her go she has the talent and personality to run her own place someday. Thank you, Cinder, for making our night. We'll definitely be back.

Beautiful during a sunny day but the more beautiful the day, the longer the wait is on service. No worries if you're ready for it. Pricey but come on - it's a winery in the East Bay ‍

Today, I went back with a group of women and I was so impressed with the updated food menu. Wow. We only had snacks but it was delicious. I'll definitely be back to try more food items. The fries made in duck fat were amazing. Definitely underrated. We got 2 orders. The crackers with the 3 different butters are a MUST. I'm not sure how the crackers are made but they were amazing. The Brussels sprouts and crab dip were good also. I had a glass of Zin on arrival and it was really good. Then my party got 2 different bottles of wine. I'm not sure what they were but they were also good. The staff never rushed us. We were there a total of 6 hours and I would not have blamed them if they asked us to wrap things up. Lol.

decided to have a girls lunch date here and it was absolutely beautiful. we made reservations and was seated outdoors by the fireplace. they have a good amount of seating both indoor and outdoor. our waiter was absolutely amazing. we started off with a flight. * this is my thoughts as a sweet wine drinker* the set up was nice the wine was actually okay. i wouldnt purchase it but really enjoyed the tasting if that make sense. the bites were actually really good my favorite was the chicken & pork dumplings. we ordered fries and a charcuterie board which was a good size. After, we walked around and took pictures.

I've returned back to Shadowbrook a couple more times over the last few years and unfortunately may be my last. Their wine is not the best, I really wish it was the same as my first visit with the delicious zin but everything else I've had from my visits I wasn't a fan of. Their food is what kept me going back. I know the chef has changed but still had high hopes. We recently had their truffle pasta for two which was incredibly overpriced for a small amount for two people, the pasta was over cooked and too soft but it was good flavor. A side of broccolini was equally overpriced but I enjoyed it charred and topped either dressing and cheese. After this expensive and unfulfilling meal, we had to go out to another restaurant and get a second dinner.

I have seen shadowbrook winery pop up on my feed for a few months now. We have been meaning to spend some time with our friends and so we made the suggestion to meet here since it's a middle point for us all. I will say that the property is 5/5 stars! So beautiful and serene and it's just there nestled in Walnut Creek! Service is impeccable and the charcuterie was delicious! So I did bump them a star for that. However, the wine selections were not my favorite. I usually am a die hard lover of whites and slowly branching into reds but I was only able to drink the rose. Everything was just too out of my preference when it comes to flavor profile. 2 out of 3 of us just did not enjoy any of the wines. My husband did love all of his red and ended up making a purchase so I'm assuming the reds are where they specialize. Do with that what you will if you are a white wine lover. Another complaint is that they closed the gate a few minutes after we arrived for our resy so our friends who were running about 10 min late were locked out of the property. I'm not sure how they ended up getting in but someone eventually opened the gate. Not sure if that is the norm or maybe because it was a rainy day. Not sure. But it could be helpful to keep them open until closing time so people can drive in.

    Exquisite!

Tucked away along the winding backroads of Castro Valley, this charming winery feels like a little secret escape. It's quiet, secluded, and has a really welcoming vibe. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. I learned the winery has been around since 2003 and produces around 1,000 cases a year. All sold exclusively at the vineyard. We did a tasting that included a sparkling, two whites, two reds, and ended with a fun slushy rosé. Honestly, I liked every single one which never happens for me! After the tasting, we didn't want to leave. The setting was so relaxing, we ended up opening one of the two bottles we bought and spent the rest of the afternoon soaking it all in. A few tips if it's your first time: tastings are only offered on the second and fourth weekends of each month. There's a $10 tasting fee for six wines, but it's waived if you purchase a bottle (which are very reasonably priced at around $16). They don't sell food, but you're welcome to bring your own, something we'll definitely do next time. So glad we found this place such a peaceful spot, just minutes from home. We'll definitely be back!
