I am extemely sick and have been since the first appointment. I showed up for my initial appointment and myself along with 2 other people in the waiting room were told UPON ARRIVAL INSTEAD OF in advance OVER THE PHONE that a referral was needed. I was forced to leave and reschedule and wait another month. I had an endoscopy done in which the OFFICE set the follow up visit a couple months out. So I show up for the follow up with worse symptoms than before-only to be told AGAIN that I'm in need of a referral. NOT because I didn't have one but from the previous procedure to the follow up - MY REFERRAL EXPIRED. Once again, I was told upon arrival even though THEY SET THE APPT MONTHS PRIOR. I think it is ridiculous or cheap or lazy to not run your patients insurance information to find these things out before a person who is likely ill drives all the way to the office. I'm no angel, believe me. That's why I go to the doctor. BUT let me call out Dr. Avani Shah personally. She would regularly roll her eyes at me at the things I've done, instead of give effective bedside manner. She even provided me the pleasure of going through withdrawal with the antidepressant Wellbutrin -- a drug she specifically prescribed to me -- a drug she would later say was withdrawal free (im assuming for fear of future lawyer involvement). My only regret is asking her point blank for a pamphlet on said drug just so I could see the look on her face when she realized she was lying. Avoid Dr. Avani Shah at all costs if you can. Edit: this is the first review I've done of anyone or anything EVER. I have a hard time trusting doctors, so if you're like me, I suggest avoiding "dr." AVANI SHAH altogether and try looking elsewhere. read more

Shah and associates are a total waste of time. I saw dr nyan Shaw a gi dr and he basically said he could not help me with my ulcerative colitis and to go to Georgetown because he didn't see anything other than an ulcer and hernia. I had the worst experience with this establishment. I made an appointment for a new primary care physician, we recently relocated in the area. I had to wait one month to see a doctor, the person that scheduled the appointment did not specify the location. After one month I went to their Hollywood location, I was told that my appointment was not in that location. I called the office to let them know that I was going to be late and that I was on my way. I let them know that I was new in the area and that I needed to keep my appointment that I've waited one month long ago. I got to the correct office, Checked in to see Dr. Alam, roughly about 15 minutes late from their Hollywood location. The doctor refused to see me. Wanted to reschedule for another couple of weeks. If you are looking for a new primary care keep looking. They are uncooperative and seem very busy to accommodate new patients. That is not what you want as a doctor anyway. I made an appointment for a different primary care doctor not affiliated with Shah & Associates. It was a total waste of my time! read more

Every time I try to make an appointment with my doctor, Dr. J. Singh, it's always at least 3-4 wks before I can get her next available appointment. I had gone to the ER one night & my ER doc wanted me to follow up with my PCP within the next few days. Long story short, I called to schedule my follow-up with my PCP (Dr. Singh) & her next available appointment was within 1-2 weeks!! ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. Just recently, I was running low on one of my medications & called the doctor's office to have them send over a refill to my pharmacy. Called the pharmacy the next day & nothing had been submitted. Called for the 2nd time towards the end of last week. Spoke with one of the nurses again & explained to her I needed my refill sent over cause nothing was sent over yet. So she said she'd have it sent over. Today is Wed, 8 JUN 16 & as of today there still hasn't been a refill sent over to my pharmacy. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!! I WILL NEVER go back to this careless practice again!!! read more
